I hope Clisby doesn't become the James Magner of this year..

Very stiff...

Pardon my off season ignorance, but what happened to Magner again?

Neeld and Co didn't rate him, and apparently neither did anyone else in the competition.

Ripped it up in the VFL week after week (had 53 touches one week) but for some reason was always overlooked in team selections. Currently playing for Port Melbourne I think.

We've got this! We'll get home by 14 points in a tough, close fought game. Watts will shine brightly,

Dawes will continue to marshall the forward 50 and Chip will dominate the GC backmen. Our midfield will have a battle but will come out on top.

Hallelujah - our journey out of the wilderness has begun.

bit early in the season to play nostradamus dd36

On the other hand, you don't want to wait too long before playing Nostradamus.

Of the seven named on the interchange Kennedy-Harris, Matt Jones and Kent are not named for Casey so unless someone doesn't come up due to injury it looks like one of Evans, Fitzpatrick, Jetta and Toumpas will fill the last spot.

Yes I saw that - I think it will be:

Out: Evans

In: Jetta

If we brought Fitzy in then Dunn could go back to the backline and Fitzy could play that forward/relief ruckman for Spencer (better than Pedo). You would assume Fitzy would play better with the third tall (behind Frawley and Dawes) but I don't know if he has deserved a call up yet (not at the expense of JKH, Jones or Kent).

If Terlich doesn't come up after training this morning. Jetta will be in.

I reckon JKH could be the perennial Sub until he builds a tank.

We may be in a better place with GCS than last year

The Demons also have former Suns development coach Ben Mathews on the coaching staff, which McKenna expects to help shed some light on Gold Coast’s players.

agree with this.

we may be on the same wave length, i thinking we should win our next 5 games and start our push towards 8th place.

the big question with such a topsy turvy year,is who we will play in the elimination final.

Dean Kent apparently hurt himself at training today.

Could be a late out?

Fitzpatrick's inclusion in the 25-man squad. Wasn't emergency last week, and in Brett Allison's report, he says "Jack contested well, but I’d like to see him contest more in the air and get the ball to ground level, so that the smalls can get to work, if he doesn't mark it." Which was exactly the problem with him, so he is not being included because of form...

Hope it's just a precaution

I also thought that Fitzpatrick's inclusion was a pretty big surprise given his form hasn't been great.

I don't necessarily think it means there's an issue with Dawes, it might just be in case of an emergency (which is I guess why they're called emergencies). Could also be someone other than Dawes, too.

I just remember reading Dawes say he pulled up "very bloody sore" (can't remember which article it was).

Let's face it, it's probably just another case of MFCSS

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
