All about Mitch Clark

I suspect that is why we are giving him leave, so come pre-season when he still won't play - and I mean 2015 - that we can scrap his contract.

Watch this space, I think this will end up in court.

Last time I checked this was a thread looking for positive thoughts and messages directed towards Mitch. Take your crap to other threads where they belong.

to read between the lines, it perhaps seems like he might be battling some mental demons, perhaps triggered or not helped by being unable to get himself right to do something he loves.

Take as long as you need Mitch. Some things are more important than football.

Exactly seems like depression to me...the way the statement from the club is worded, its like the injury is secondary to the "health problems" he is experiencing.

Honestly mate we don't have to put up with anything, Mitch does and that's probably part of the problem.

We just go to the game and support our club, after all it's just football as passionate as we may be about it. For Mitch it is his job and a huge part of his life, he probably dreamed of playing the game as a kid growing up.

Good luck to you Mitch, life is short so they say so make the most of it which ever way the cards fall.

Yeah I know we dont have to put up with it I just hate our club being in the news for negative reasons after all the crap in the past few seasons.

I hope Mitch can get himself right. I know he much he wanted to play for melbourne and get us successful on the field. And at the moment he cant do the one thing he wants to. It would be so frustrating. But Im sure the club will give him the full support.

On a lighter side note.... The D'land banner is looking decidedly dodgy as each day passes. Is it cursed lol?

From left to right...

> Frawley - Speculation that he may well move on at year's end (pic fading a little?).

> Clark - Unlikely to pull on a Demon jumper again (pic fading big time)

> Viney - Injury prone debut last year although seems to be progressing through pre season ok so far. But surely too early to be a banner boy at this point (see Trengove)?

> Grimes - Major injury setback half way through 2013. Good comeback so far in 2014. Has earned his place on banner.

> Roos - Fingers crossed for an additional year's contract (at least) This might also secure Frawley on a short term deal as well. Obviously needs to be front and square on the banner.

> Jones - The one shining constant on the field and a seriously worthy banner boy.

> Trengove - Finally some common sense allowing him to just learn develop and play. Has he earned a banner guernsey at this point? IMO definitely not.

> Garland - Significant ankle issue over summer but appears to be progressing well. Should make an appearance in the near term. Looks like a safe and reasonably worthy banner boy at this point...touch wood.

> McKenzie - The epitome of "battler" and "tryer". Not sure he's worthy of a banner posting at this point though.

Howe is about the only worthy "additional" inclusion from other possibles.

Hes on $35,000 a game I feel sorry for the guy and hope he's ok but I think it's in everyone's best interest that Mitch retires, if he can't play or even get his head right to complete his rehab it's time for him to think about another job, who knows maybe the club can offer him a job but this saga just starting to look ridiculous

thankyou for stating how i am also feeling, really looking to be a lemon of a pick

If it is a mental issue, can you please remember how many supporters you have. We don't pity you, we respect you, because of what you have given to our club. You had given us hope, for some, the Melbourne football club makes up a big part of our lives. A lot of us have mental issues due to so many different reasons.

If you could find the strength to get over your personal issues and remember how important you are to the supporters. You are the sort of person and player that we would all be happy yo hive you time to get over your physical problems it has only been 1 and a half years since you were dominating out there.

We will stick by you.

Get better, for yourself and for all the Dee supporters.

But that article is nearly 2 years old.

It will be a beautiful miracle to see Mitch in the jumper again.

You would have to forgive any Demonlanders who are feeling more than slightly nervous. We don't have a good track record when it comes to 'indefininite leave'

he was due... Most of our almost star players leave us about two or three years in....

Mods PLEASE help me keep this thread to it's intended purpose, to support a demon.

Let's be gown ups and keep the rumours and insults to another thread guys. The idea was to show this to Mitch as a support mechanism, not show him how many tools are MFC supporters.

You were on the money that's for sure, maybe if Mitch doesn't want to play anymore he should just retire and If feels that way about his footy and I reckon he does he should stop putting his hand out for his pay every week, I was told something similar to you from a very good source and that was he was counting down the days to his 4yrs is up as he has plenty of money and he's not interested in AFL anymore.

I suspect that is why we are giving him leave, so come pre-season when he still won't play - and I mean 2015 - that we can scrap his contract.

Seriously guys you need to have a good hard look at yourselves. Yes I get it that he is not playing but the news for you is that he was injured playing for the club and the club will need to uphold his contract. Any thought of him retiring and absolving the club of it's financial responsibility let alone it's moral responsibility is totally reprehensible. Grow up...

...and if you want to talk about a professional club then who do you think would want to come to a club that treated it's players like this, you would think it's Mitch's fault he got injured. I've never read so much rubbish in all my life. Maybe I need to get out a bit more.

probably; seeing it doesn't recognise Frank 'Checker' Hughes, the father of our successes, For some un-known reason?

Leave without pay I hope.

Ed: if it is personal issues, not football related.

He'll play less than 20 games in 4 years.

He told Brisbane he wanted to go home for personal reasons.

Maybe we should've listened to what Clark said back then, I know a few Brisbane players were vocal about it - that he told them he wanted to go home, yet came to us after a bucket of cash... Money does not solve person problems, Clark obviously has personal issues.

If everyone here wishes Mitch best health then they'll have no problems MFC paying Mitch full contract so he can get back to WA - where he can work on his issues with his family.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
