Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I think Watts was ambushed with that line of questioning ..........

Do you seriously think he didn't know he was going to be asked that?

I think the tendency of posters to use apostrophes in pronouns is far worse than the situation regarding Jack Watts.

I can tell you as an absolute fact that his manager (Connors I think) wants him to leave the MFC.

Unfortunately most player managers are advising their players to either leave or not go to the club.

We have some serious work to do in the area of development and credibility.

Just as you'd expect they would. Melbourne better not offer him overs, he hasn't shown anything to indicate that he will get any better than he is now. I say trade him and get the best midfielder we possibly can.

But I for one enjoy a well-placed punctuation mark, especially an apostrophe.

I am however irked by 'his' for 'he's', should/could/etc of instead of should/could/etc have and the their-there dilemma.

Going forward there will be fewer options for Jack; the Back-Floater spot is filled easily enough, he's gonna be hard to fit into our All-Star future forward line (as a pop-up performer) and he lacks the gumption to play in the middle. Let's hope he rips it up in his last three for the Dees.

Here's my view of Watts: we handled the first couple of years terribly and threw him to the wolves, particularly in his debut against the Pies.

However, now he is 22 years old and a lot more talented, skillful and bigger than most of the other guys put on the field, yet he fails to show any kind of appetite for the game. He is lazy, lacks any kind of intensity or aggression. The onus must now be on him as he is no longer a kid - I just don't think he has the drive and is in a similar mould to Sylvia.

If he can't find the will in himself to get better and play harder, I'd be happy let him go for the right price.

The decider for me was one second Nathan Jones was saying how we have to lift this club from the inside, I want to do that etc, nek minnit Jack comes out and says he'll wait for the coach to see if he wants to stay and tries to hold the club to ransom. Jones is the guy Watts should aspire to be.

Here a radical though, lets only recruit players who actually want to play for the MFC.

Hah. I doubt we'd be able to field a side in the next few years. Each player currently on the list would become irreplaceable.

I've been a supporter of Watts to date, although, if the comments he reportedly made on the footy show are accurate, he's lost me.

It seems it was a really clever interview from a guy I had thought was smarter than he obviously is. He can't even play the game off the field.

It seems we'll potentially go down in history as the only club who stuffed up two number 1 draft picks - and in consecutive years.

I still can't get over the Sloane stuff up. Those muppets at the time appear not to have looked at a player's character sufficiently - that's why we have a number of soft players on our list who lack loyalty/character when the going gets tough - on and off the field.

Fortunately we now have Todd Viney involved in player recruitment - his four pillars make absolute sense.

I can't believe how bloody inept this club has been for most of this millenium - actually for much of the last millenium too.

BINGO - it makes sense that you target the best people and then use the best methods to get the best people.

We've got "good blokes" or "footy people" to make gut-based decisions. We've deserved everything we got. WE are the architects of our own demise - and that can work in reverse, too.

What a pathetic load of flogs you all are.

"There's no doubt I love the club and I love the boys."

He said that very clearly. It was very clear.

He is unsure of his future. He's a 22-year-old with no success, looking down the barrell of another 3-4 years without playing finals. He wants to know that his employer is going to provide the environment necessary for him to thrive.

He's 22 for crying out loud.

Going by the tone in here I wouldn't blame him if he leaves.

He's not leaving. He's just riding the wave and seeing what decisions the club has made moving forward.

Ya'all would do the same if you were working at the worst organisation in your field, with no improvement in sight.

Oh Im sorry..Hes been in the biz for 5 years. ( for 5 years crying out loud !! ) and thats what he comes up with ?? Seriously ??

As others have already highlighted he's none too clever really if this is how he goes about things. He strikes me as someone who will blame everything on someone or some other event. HE, HE has to get his arse into gear and make things happen , not wait for them. Ive worked with, indeed employed this type, only to realise the mistake and sack them.

He has all the attributes of a very fine player save one, ticker.

A very famous man once said "Ask not what this country can do for you , ask what you can do for your country"

Littlle Jackie might think long and hard about such a notion.

Well said. Unfortunately, it's not just footy anymore for these guys; its a profession------- a job. He has had to work for a basket case and if he chooses to leave, that is his right. We only have ourselves to blame if he does leave. It goes to show how much work PJ has in front of him. If we can put the right footy people in place in the off season, we may see a change of heart, but not for one minute do I blame a young guy for wanting some security for his future.

Maybe it was just his way of shaking things up. Long overdue in any event.

Not at all.

If you are him, come up with 5 good reasons to stay?

How abou he gives us 5 good reasons to keep him? Been around for 5 years and done [censored]-all except embarrass the jumper with his weak pea-hearted efforts. Can [censored] off back to basketball as far as I'm concerned where he won't be in fear of copping a bruise.

The double 4 could impact our ability to land that big sponsor from China...oh who am i kidding...the only sponsor from China we could possibly land is the bloke that runs the Dim Sim stand @ the South Melbourne Market.

Oh please - the South Melbourne dimmy's wouldn't want to sully their reputation by being associated with the MFC.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
