  1. I'm sure we do have our eyes on may players atm however when trading begins you never know what is thrown around between clubs. It's early days yet. As far as Prestia goes I read somewhere that his knee is in great shape it was a clean up of scar tissue which is not uncommon after an operation.
  2. Maybe, we're not in the same trading position as last year, having traded away our first round pick. We were "white-hot" after him but it wasn't the right time for him. Now, who knows? I know one thing, who ever gets him will get a class act both on field and off!
  3. Eade is [censored] off that he won't sign on. Thus giving him less time on the ball, less time on the ground, playing him in differ any positions. He is the best midfielder they have behind only Ablett. He was very close to coming last year, only his loyalty to his teammates stopped him, now it's loyalty to family which is kicking in. He is very close to his immediate and extended family. We can never have too many good midfielders. Richmond, the team I hate passionately is very hot for him, I would die if he went there! This is extremely reliable 100% true.
  4. Not sure if anybody has mentioned this (I apologizeif it has) but Adelaide may be able to match Geelongs offer but will they be able to match ours? In which we get him for zip!
  5. When Melbourne played Hawthorn earlier this season, we were never in it. I didn't get a chance to let out a yelp about our performance it was so bad. One thing I did say was... "I'm glad someone else is over paying you now Frawley" All the Hawk fans laughed. I wonder if they are still laughing now??
  6. It just so happens that these players (marked with an asterix) are the ones that continuously play and let us down when the chips are down. Coincidently they are from that era, Is there a connection? Maybe ,maybe not!
  7. The players that are still with us that were at the club in 2011, the year of the 186 loss to Geelong, should be considered for trade. Here are the 14: N. Jones *Watts Trengrove Dunne *Grimes *Garland Gawn *Howe Jetta **Jarmar *Spencer *Bail Fitzpatrick T. McDonald * may have trade value ** may not have much if any All others in bold print should be persevered with IMHO
  8. Bailey? I think he had his good points and bad. Defensive game needed a lot of work, Offensively he was ahead of his time. I remember watching "On the Couch", Roos was scathing with his criticism of Bailey claiming he was not keeping up with the then current trend which was very defensive. Bailey created a game plan which suited the list at his disposal which happened to be similar to the one Clarkson adopted. They were both colleagues at Port Adelaide at some stage I believe.
  9. I left at half time and tuned in to Gold FM, can't be fcuked anymore!
  10. Its not the fitness people, it's not the doctors, it's not the coaches, it's not the boot studder, its not the physios, its not the property steward, its not the president, its not the CEO, Its the SENIOR players, all of them. They all need to go at the end of this year if we want this club to start gaining some competitiveness and respect.
  11. Absolutely loved Jako, it took me and my mates a whole season to work out which side of his body was his natural, he was so good on either left or right leg. My favorite player of all time.
  12. 1. 1957 at five I started school at St. Margaret Mary's in Brunswick and started passively following the Demons (most kids followed them in those days) 2. First favorite player was Hassa Mann (my all-time favorite though was Allen Jakovich the best kick on both sides of his body I've ever witnessed). 3. Best moment was the 1987 the night grand-final win against Essendon. 4. Worst moment was 2011 loss to Geelong by 186 points closely followed by the Fitzroy loss by 190 at Waverly in 1979. 5. I first began seriously following them and became member in 1965, I'm 63 and I fear that I will never witness a Premiership!
  13. The players that are still with us that were at the club in 2011, the year of the 186 loss to Geelong, may be scarred beyond repair. Here are the 14: N. Jones Watts Trengrove Dunne Grimes Garland Gawn Howe Jetta Jarmar Spencer Bail Fitzpatrick T. McDonald Many of these were in their first year and not part of the 186 team. IMHO only 5 or 6 of this list deserve to still be with us. How many of these are scarred beyond repair, to the point that they repeatedly go into "self-preservation-mode" when we need them most?
  14. Melbourne's move was far too late, Tim Harrington was largely responsible for the fcuk up and that contributed to his sacking! Dion's family wants him home, but Victorian clubs are lining up already even though his contract includes 2016, lets hope he comes to us if he comes home to at all.
  15. "600thou"- Howe should join Jack Watts at Casey. His efforts today were deplorable to put it mildly!
  16. True, he is a very good footballer, in a very ordinary side.
  17. I have received my 50th year recognition a certificate and a pin. I really appreciate the acknowledgement. I'm a believer in the famous words of JFK ... "ask not what my country do for me but what I can do for my country" We're all different and that's fair enough. I would have loved to have seen a premiership by now though.
  18. This is by far the best Clash jumper I've ever seen!! Absolutely love it!!
  19. Mark Neeld is being considered for an assistant coaching role at the Bummers!
  20. Hasn't the AFLPA already stated that this is NOT the case?
  21. This is all starting to make sense now. At the time of MC's retirement it was inter-mated to me that he was forced to retire by higher powers for other problems. If in fact he is being given the wrong advice, as insinuated below, then maybe there was some truth in what I heard. as a person who has his own issues, I questioned at the time whether the decision run away and retire (instead of facing his problems head-on) was at all wise or at all brave, for which of course I was howled at by 90% of this forum. I'm still wondering what type of advice he has been getting, or to what extent what we have been fed about said advice is pure fabrication. All very very fishy for mine.
  22. I would love to hang on to Frawley, the big question is does he want to stay? All indications are that his management has already got an agreement in place. An agreement that was similar in a time scence to Scully's, that is, negotiations were started last season. I hope I'm wrong because he is a book end in the team and they don't grow on trees. That's why all the top teams are showing a strong interest.
  23. The President although "invisible" is new and is not part of those dark days. Its better that he is silent, Peter Jackson should be the one to express the committees views. Paul Roos is the front man at the moment and so he should be, can you imagine what the media would do if someone other than Paul Roos was fronting the media? I do agree that any members of the old committee that still occupy a position should vacate asap. Players that are still playing include Frawley, Watts, Jones, Garland, Dunne, Trengrove, Grimes, Blease, Jarma, Bail, Fitzspatrick, Gawn, Tom McDonald, Stuass, Spencer,Tapscott and Jetta. Of these players who will be part of the problem not all played much in 2011 and some were in their rookie year. Bare in mind that Bailey said after the 186 game "My responsibility is going to be getting these players back together again, gelling them again and getting them united again to confront an opposition next week" was he saying that there was disunity in that list?
