  1. In the infamous '186' the second half margin was also 12 goals, arguably the 6.1 effort on that darkest of days against 17.7 was superior. Today we weren't playing the ultimate Premier you could be forgiven for thinking.
  2. Roosy has got us fit, given us a game plan and made us one of the hardest sides to play against. There's not much wrong with that plan, how could it possibly fail.
  3. Pies have lost consecutive GFs 8 times (including 2 'three-peats' as 4).
  4. Match Play/ Stableford/ Par/ 4BBB etc
  5. Not over yet, Dawesy could still kick bags of 2,3 and 4 to equal Millsy's 26 in his "breakout year". That said he would appear to have every chance of setting a new AFL Record Low Total: ADELAIDE: Graham Johncock - 30 goals (2003)* BRISBANE BEARS: Brad Hardie - 37 goals (1990)** BRISBANE LIONS: Justin Leppitsch - 26 goals (1998)** CARLTON: Anthony Koutoufides - 28 goals (1997) COLLINGWOOD: Saverio Rocca - 33 goals (1999)* and Anthony Rocca (2000) ESSENDON: Scott Cummings - 32 goals (1994) FITZROY: Anthony Mellington - 22 goals (1996)** FREMANTLE: Matthew Pavlich & Justin Longmuir - 28 goals (2001)** GEELONG: Ronnie Burns & Ben Graham - 33 goals (2001) and Kent Kingsley (2003) HAWTHORN: Nick Holland - 29 goals (1997) MELBOURNE: Brad Miller - 26 goals (2008)** NORTH MELBOURNE: Leigh Harding - 33 goals (2003) PORT ADELAIDE: Josh Mahoney - 29 goals (2006) RICHMOND: Stephen Ryan - 28 goals (1990) ST KILDA: Peter Everitt - 40 goals (2000)** SYDNEY SWANS: Jim West - 34 goals (1990), Tony Lockett (1997)* and Michael O'Loughlin (2001)* WEST COAST: Peter Sumich - 32 goals (1997)* WESTERN BULLDOGS: Luke Darcy & Jade Rawlings - 30 goals (2004) * denotes team made finals that year ** denotes team won wooden spoon that year
  6. If things don't look like they're going well it's definitely worth a shot (even with no jury herein).
  7. Sportsbet suggest Hawthorn 60+ should pay $2.10, it's about as likely as not.
  8. Bourke was 179/77 same as Alan Rowarth. Athol Webb was 180/80.
  9. Something like that. They were $8.50, not collecting $425 is hardly worth mentioning. Not much fun either putting $100 on the Hawks to get $103 back.
  10. There will always be specific anomalies. He also played 2 decent (but aberrant) career games.
  11. Yep, with Darcy Gardiner it's three. Three Lions who played against us are RSNs, the Saints have two as do the Giants. We don't have very many at all for a bottom-range team. It may well be rubbish award but it is an indicator of sorts and for us points to a significant shortage of real young talent.
  12. Who's Ben Guthrie? I'm tipping the total Clearances in this game to be relatively 'normal' with the ability of these teams against better sides not being any consideration. "3. Don't expect these sides to win a lot of ball out of the middle. Melbourne is ranked 18th in the League in clearances, averaging just 33.7 per game. The Lions sit 14th and average 37.6 a game."
  13. They were probably glad just to get the four points
  14. Williamstown play East Perth in a Semi of the Foxtel Cup on Tues night. They might hold a few back and take things a bit easy.
  15. Stats can be used to explain a result or a trend (if the game is not over) but goals and wins relate more to particular quality 'strings' of posessions and acts. These quality strings may or may not relate to the stats generally. Shorter strings will result in stat increments but if there is no scoreboard effect they have no intrinsic meaning. I can't stand watching The War Room, I have to hit the 'mute' button.
  16. You can add Crameri to the list (Show Cause Syndrome)
