Surely Magner has to play? What was the point in elevating him and then not playing him despite getting more than 30+ touches for Casey every week.

How long does Trengove get?

There were a couple of high balls that any AFL player would have backed themselves to at least try to make a contest, but Trengove knew his plodding speed was no chance. Sad, sure. But I've seen enought.

And Watts? fmd.

If Magner doesn't come in, Terls should at least get a go in the midfield. Taggert also a chance depending on the game tomorrow.

According to the SEN people Watts was pretty good today. Would have been nice if he'd kicked straight, but aside from that they loved him.

You're bagging Watts' performance? LOL!

Two of the worst marking contest efforts you're likely to see, dropped an absolute sitter in another, and yeah, he didn't kick straight either.

SEN must be like half the people on here, and are happy when he gets 15 touches and think he's coming along...

There's zero improvement there.

Watts would be a gun forward with a fully fit Mitch Clark and Dawes. I could see him making the same impact as what Jack Gunston makes at hawthorn.

Sort of, but more his career as a whole thus far.

Why drop Rodan? He gives us a bit of grunt and adds the vital experience component we require. He is always hard at it and gives his all.

We need to have a look at Taggert and Davis

no, No, NO, NOOOoo.

We should never give players a game just so we can have a look at them. The need to deserve it, to earn it. We need to take a leaf out of the Swans manual where there young players are made earn it in the reserves before they are even considered, then they are made wait until an opportunity presents, then they have to continue to earn it, and when they finally come in they come in, it is with a mature body and a more importanty a mature mindset.

Watts was good today. FMD everyone here enjoys giving Watts a beating no matter what he does.

Given its his what, third game of the past two years as a forward, and given he was without Clark and for all intents and purposes Dawes, he did bloody well.

GET PEDERSON THE F OUT OF THE SIDE. HE IS MAKING ME WANT TO DIE!

OUT- Rodan, Pederson

IN- Frawley, Magner

personally I don't think spencer will be suspended

AFL are a joke if Spencer gets suspended, he was going to tackle, that spud McEvoy fumbled it and stuck his head down, Spencer pulled up as best he could, contact was inevitable and caused by McEvoy fumbling.

Free kick, nothing more.

Agree on Taggert - has been in the best at Casey once (I think) this year and isn't being played in the midfield. Those that saw him tear it up one game last year before being injured again are way too impatient. He's along way from a senior birth at this stage.

i assume it's baby steps with him and his injury management this year. If not we have a potentially decent mid going nowhere in the Casey forward line.

On the subject of Davis - dud kick but way better competitor than Dunn and I'd be happy to see him out there instead (or Pedo)

Watts looked way more interested in the game than usual. A bit of intensity even (in between the Jack Riewoldt style petulance/diving)

Disagree, have seen a couple of games with Casey and have been pretty impressed with Taggert. Think he is closer to getting a game than you obviously do.

I would keep Spencer, Nathan Jones, Toumpas, Garland, Fitzpatrick, Clisby, Watts and Kent. The last 4 of those by a hair of a bees thingamejiggles.

The rest can go to Casey.

In The Age best as well, David Parkin on ABC canning him all afternoon.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
