Brock on Col on Twitter

Brock definitely has an agenda against the MFC...... When will he stop stabbing us in the back...... He's lucky he still walking..... [censored] OFF DOG MCLEAN!!!!

Errr..... didn't he donate a large whack of soldi to the debt demolition? In fact, didn't he donate twice? $20k and then $10k, or the like (someone can correct me on this). But I don't think he's that p!ssed off with MFC. This is not stabbing us in the back, its meant as a prank on Col. I don't think he has the intelligence to have an agenda, and i honestly think his tanking comments were a matter of his mouth working before his brain engaged. He'd probably take the words back if he could, cause he knows how silly they make him look.

His tweet is a dumb joke. He's a s*** stirrer without much brains. Read it as that and let it go.

I think your wrong. Brock was also involved in the 'Bruise Free' football comments. He has taken many opportunities to undermine the club since his departure. You could argue he is angry as he was devoted to the club when he was on our list and donated generously. Maybe he is harbouring a gripe as he was put up for trade.

If it is humour its in very bad taste and not appreciated by the club.

Not sure if he was involved in bruise free football comments, Demonstrative. Didn't Robinson and Armfield say those comments? Please link us to a direct quote from him on this, if you can. Being on the Blues list at the time is not the same as being involved in those comments (which incidentally, Garry Lyon agreed with at the time on Footy Classified).

Apart from the stupid tanking comments in that interview, where else has he taken "many opportunities to undermine the club" since he left? I hardly think a joke tweet about Silvia is 'undermining', lol!

Also, McLean sought out the trade to Carltank, as opposed to being put up for trade. He initiated it. Most on here agree that he saw the writing on the wall at the Dees and looked for greener pastures. Doesn't mean he has a gripe.

While I certainly do not like McLean as a character and think his comments about tanking were plain stupid and foolish, I cannot understand why some here are so hating and emotional towards him. As I said earlier, he is not smart enough to have an intentional agenda to undermine the MFC. I think he is a dumb, loose cannon, but the AFLs tanking investigation will make him look the fool in due course.

Moonshadow here is a story from The Age. The link is

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/dees-need-to-show-grunt-for-bailey-20110602-1fiwb.html

The article reports the following

For his own sake, the coach needs to get tougher with his troops. The Melbourne Football Club say the Blues insulted them last week by claiming that the Demons prefer to play ''bruise-free'' footy. If that's not a slap in the face then nothing is.

But the stats will prove that the Carlton mouths, led by Mitch Robinson, Brock McLean and Dennis Armfield, are right.

No its not a direct quote but a story reporting Brock to be one of the players who claimed the MFC played bruise free football that day

I dont think Brock is joking. Anyone (including Brock despite your high opinion on his intellect. Are you sure your not angry?) would know that such a tweet would upset, anger many. Including the club.

It has become obviously clear, even before he left the MFC, that Brock McLean is one of the stupider and harder to like characters in the game.

This incident is really neither here nor there, but you have to question what, if anything, goes through this blokes head.

McLean appears increasingly to be a real [censored].

He certainly passes enough sh!t to fall into that category!

Hopefully the AFL will do the right thing and fine Brock McLean for his tweet. I am sure that Melbourne FC has already flagged it with Adrian Anderson.

Ah yes, Robert Walls, that highly esteemed journalist. Believe what he says if you like, but I won't.

As I said, I don't think much of Brock, but I don't bother getting all emotional about him and overplaying some fictional vendetta he supposedly has against us. In fact, i quite enjoyed watching his second half of the season.

I like Brock's style. Footy fans should admire him for his cheek, rather than browbeat him into another sporting blandoid.

Just maybe-- he is wishing to come back--because Carlton haven't resigned him as yet...

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
