Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Tyson can still go to North, and we can then ontrade the pick we get for him to help get May, and could include next years first rounder or it might not.

Great minds think alike, typed after i read your post, brilliant [censored] Freo.

Definitely

no one will give them pick 1-4 for May which is what they get as compo next year.

On the other hand they have a disaffected captain who they don't want hanging around the club.

Their choice

Board the joint up and Give us May for nothing.

I can’t see Brisbane taking a future first round pick. They may as well retain May for next season, they’ll get more in the same draft with the compo pick they’ll receive for him.

I am sure Brisbane would take a future first round pick, especially as he is a GC player.

I am more than happy to hear nothing from Mahoney.

Keep Freo guessing and under pressure

He has said everything that needs to be said on the first day, its all up to Freo's mouthpiece Bell to make the next statement.

Unless it’s a straight swap of Tyson for Preuss

North have already rejected that, which if they wanted Tyson would be amazing, as Preuss is an 8 game player, with none this year.

GC won’t take our pick next year for May. No way they accept it. They will just keep him and get the early compensation pick for losing him as a FA

We’re constrained with what we can offer without the Hogan trade happening, no doubt.

However, that saying of whenever a player elects their club they wish to play for, they usually get their wish.

I can only imagine we’re gonna have to cough up a decent player as well as picks.

Not sure why we'd panic. Much prefer Hogan on the list over May, even if we play Hogan in defence for the first few weeks of the season, while Lever gets fit.

This is not a silly idea - it could create another dimension. My mate is asking me, each day from over the fence, '...is Hogan really worth the trouble?' Testing times.

Sorry yes. I understand free what the different contractual status mean. I also understand restricted and unrestricted.

What im saying is if freo and hogan are smart then they wait one more year.

Buddy to swans for pick 18 or whatever the fa compo was is the most likely scenario imo for hogan to move.

And thats why flogs like mcclure are talking hogan out nd may in. Freo would need something serious to happen from the hogan camp to give up 2 high picks. It makes more sense to wait until next yr when hogans uncontracted.

Freo and hogan have the power in these negotiations is all im trying to say. The power is with the players

I disagree but see where you're coming from. Even next year we'd still be demanding 2 first rounders for him same as Crows with Lever, Blues with Gibbs, GWS with Treloar etc

The buzzword ATM seems to be "brand". I think JH had seriously damaged his brand.

If he stays, whether by his choice, or the clubs' inability to reach agreement, I doubt that Demons' supporters will view him in the same light.

And if he goes I doubt that many tears will be shed.

Sad really. The club has bent over backwards to support him.

I do find the media chatter to be interesting.

GC will get pick three in compensation for Lynch is apparently fair and what he's worth.

Shiel will probably cost the Bombers this year's and next year's first round picks, which they think is a bargain for the Bombers.

Melbourne are asking two first round picks for Hogan, we're dreaming, no way he's worth that, dodgy foot, attitude issues etc etc.

For the record Hogan is two years younger than Lynch and has him covered in almost every statistic, so if Lynch is worth pick three then we're in no way out of line asking more than that.

Yes the club has developed him, supported him tough times and now the club is onward upward.  His brand is weakened and he frankly is a pain in the backside with this nonsense.  Harden up JH and give back to the club who has nurtured you.  Stop peesing about!!!

That is ridiculous. For all we know JH has made his position clear and the delays which are causing us to head to the magic 300 (having passed the miraculous 200) have nothing to do with him.

Re Jessie's foot injury. I know one of the professional's at the club who were looking after his foot. Let me put to rest those who think he was faking, he very definitely had a crack in the Navicular bone. The club was grateful that it was early on and not a full fracture requiring surgery. Seriously some of the conjecture and conspiracy theories stated are way out of line.

Fairly drastic solution, but ok!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
