Hi all. 2 June 2024. Unbelievably after our 2021 premiership 🏆 and talk of a Demons Dynasty, the Dees have been smashed by Freo (by 92 points). Our 3rd loss in 4 weeks. We now sit 10th. It was a humiliating loss. Beaten all over the ground. Zero winners. Zero. We looked slow and uncompetitive and incapable of successful transition of the footy. Our contested footy and stoppages are embarrassing. Our forward line was led by two defenders trialling as forwards. The loss comes two weeks after being beaten by 6 goals to cellar dweller Eagles. Do we panic? Well we might. But footy can be a simple game. Simple. We forget how sport can be over analyzed and players confident eroded by the lack of strategy and skill. How do we respond ? Here’s some easy thoughts from a humble 48 year supporter and former suburban footballer. Memo to Goodwin. Step 1/STOP THE OVERHANDBALLING Players are scared to kick it. We run it until it’s into trouble. Opponents are sweating on us to make the mistakes It’s so predictable. Backline hardball mistakes are shockers. Easy goals. Players under zero pressure handball to players under pressure Step 2/ KICKING. AUSSIE RULES FOOTBALL. Note to all. skills skills and skills. When free, use you CORRECT kicking leg. Lazy foot skills often on display and turnovers. Our skills under zero pressure have desserted us. It’s horrible. Step 3/ STOP LAZY PLAY STOP SLOW & WIDE & BORING FOOTY Scared footballers take easy 15 metres sideways kicks , even when running through the midfield MOVE THE BALL QUICKLY WITH INTENSITY BE BRAVE NOT SCARED!! Step 4/ STOP TURNING BACKS AND FORWARDS INTO MIDS (RECRUIT MIDS) The engine room is so critical. It all starts in the middle. Real quality mids are the stars. Even with a generation champion Ruckman, our mids are losing big time. No more Riv or Kozzy experiments. We need them doing what they do best. Kozzy kicking goals Riv being courageous and defending for his life Recruit mids. We have enough backs and forwards- talls mediums smalls. Why are trying to turn small forwards into mids. Stop It Step 5/ our Premiership defence. May. Lever. Petty. RETURN PETTY TO DEFENCE. He looks a broken player. He has lost confidence. The forward experience is over. Step 6/ GOALKICKING GOALKICKING GOALKICKING it’s so important but appears worse than ever Players trying screw kicks on their wrong foot … why? why it’s horrendous !!! Step 7/ STOP GUARDING GRASS The zone gets undone by ball movement and run and chip and mark footy Freo destroyed the zone Man up Run to be accountable and responsible Step 8/ STOP RECRUITING UNNEEDED PLAYERS IN THEIR DECLINE Hunter. Billings.McAdam. Schache. Why ? List cloggers. Why? Hunter and Billings were taking salary cap dramas off other clubs Stop now !! We attracted Langdon, Hibberd, Lever, May, Melksham. Find those players again. Find the free agents. Find the players with upside. Step 9/ TACKLING. TACKLING. STOP THE PLAYER. MAKE IT COUNT. Too many games see our players failing to stop Aside from JV7, our entire midfield lacks defensive pressure and shutting down opponents Step 10/ DISCIPLINE AND DESPARATION. Dees have zero smothers zero blocks zero little extra non stats hard work showing out. It’s a comfort zone. The desperation is non existent. Third efforts rare, very rare. The #Freo92 loss hurts. Really hurts. We are now seemingly over the chance of another premiership and one on the MCG. The coach showed little emotion and little plan B. Outsmarted and outcoached. But we can apply the simple things. The fixes that start to rebuild. Go Dees !!!14 points

It's less about one loss, and more about how we lost. That was an un-Melbourne like performance. I was ok with the losses to Brisbane and West Coast, because the competition is so even and we were just beaten by a team that played significantly better on the day, and we at least managed to win back some momentum at times. But to completely stop playing and get destroyed in every single statistic yesterday was unacceptable. -41 in contested possessions is Neeld-esque level putrid. We can't keep glossing over these performances and say they aren't a litmus test of our fortunes, because the loss and the massive drop in percentage yesterday may have just cost us a top 8 finish, let alone a top 4 finish. A good club with a good culture takes stock of where they are at, and are honest with one another. Burying our head in the sand will do nothing but continue the mediocre performances we've seen this season.12 points

I don’t think it was rubbish at all. Angus Brayshaw was lined up and taken out, the ball had left the area. The only thing Maynard had eyes for, was the Player, the move was executed to perfection as far the Filth were concerned….11 points

Totally agree. And I know you're not doing this, but hearing people constantly pointing to complete outlier results to defend our team is a total waste of time. Whether it's Richmond having bad losses in their flag years, Collingwood being beaten by Hawthorn last year, the fact that we got smashed by 98 points then went on to play in a Grand final 25 years ago. This club and it's success in 2021 was built on a model and system that stacked the probability in our favour over the course of a game and season. To then go and cite these weirdo examples that are as rare as a day in Melbourne without roadworks doesn't really do anything for me but suggest that a minor miracle is required to get out of this. What are WE going to do about it, what happens next? That's what I'm interested in.11 points

He's bang on, look at Oliver, looks completely out of shape and one stage I saw him hunched down trying to catch his breath and he looked in terrible shape. Selwyn and Goody need to come under close scrutiny. Bringing back underdone players has finally caught up to use. We simply could not keep up with Fremantles outside spread and work rate. Lol you won't hear a word from Roffey.. she's gone MIA. You'll only hear from her when we've won a final and she's taking all the credit for the glory. Even after having thr off season from hell we heard nothing from her except her telling us we need to cheer louder 🤦♂️ Poor Gawny had to face the music all pre season. Coaching department needs a complete overhaul at the end of the season.11 points

How do you fluke a premiership? 25 games played. We won 20.5 games. Minor premiers. We won 3 finals by a combined 190 points. QF by 33. PF by 83. GF by 74. We did it away from home. It's one of the best premierships ever won.10 points

Great work @spirit of norm smith I think the problems aren't that hard to see, we've managed to paper over the cracks (mostly) for half a season thanks largely to our back 6/all team defense and some big efforts from Gawn, Tracc, Viney, ANB, Fritsch, Langdon, Kozzy and JVR. With fatigue, injury and form the cracks are not sinkholes. Facts Forwardline = completely decimated Petty, unfit, hopelessly out of form and not a forward. Averaging ~7 touches & 0.3 goals McAdam, either not fit or not up to the level. Cannot kick further than 30m Turner, learning the ropes, possibly not a forward and ulikely to evolve into David Shwarz with the support available Kozzy, playing midfield ANB playing midfield JVR didn't play v Fremantle (but has been an absolute warrior all season) Fritsch, a class act but is currently being asked to play like Tony Lockett. Very difficult for Bailey to play his role well without a legitimate FF or CHF Midfield = severely undermanned Brayshaw gone Oliver, not fit and down on form Langdon, playing forward Hunter cooked Windsor, trying but fatiguing Sparrow down on form Viney, manful but down on form Tracc & Gawn, trying to be everything, everywhere & probably saved us from 2-3 more losses Backline = dam wall finally broke Lever, not playing Rivers, playing midfield Salem, playing midfield May battered and bruised Tomlinson a very good VFL player McDonald steady but on the retirement tour Overall Playing with 2 less than everyone else, Brayshaw, a legitimate top 5-10 player and Smith, a useful utility Recent mature age recruits have not helped at all (Billings, McAdam, Fullarton, Schache) Rookies with serious potential are not ready (Tholstrup, Jefferson) Cathartic but painful to type out. I'll need to rest before putting forward some solutions 🙄...but largely agree with what Norm and others have said10 points

No fluke. We finished minor premiers, and thrashed our finals opponents with a huge win in GF, One of the biggest margins of all time. Silly comment to suggest we fluked it.10 points

Bet all the Goodwin bashers also wanted Norm Smith sacked in 65. How did that work out? The issue is list management. Since the flag: Out: Hunt gone, Hibberd retired, Jackson gone, Bedford gone, JJ gone, Gus medically retired, JS on extended holiday, Grundy doing the Grandpa Simpson meme. In: ???? You got to give your coach proper footballers to work with. Professional, athletic, aggressive, ideally with some skills too. We have failed to do that and instead collected a bunch of 28 year olds that other teams didn't want. Goodwin's trying to evolve the game plan and list. Change isn't linear, these things take some time, especially when you're adding risk and asking players to use their skills when they didn't have to playing boundary ball. We have the skills across half back to take risks. Salem's a beautiful decision maker. Bowey's a lovely kick. Judd's very balance and calm. Rivers' run and penetration can both be assets. But unless they have a midfield and half forwards on the same page and running hard it won't work. Sure, the coach has to take some blame for the demise of the midfield and getting sucked in to dud recruits, but ultimately that's not his main responsibility and no coach can make wine out of water.10 points

Be careful what you wish for. Binman will now blame fitness or heavy loads on our loss. The problem is much deeper than that. Unfit teams have a tendency to have terrible last qtrs. Our last qtrs have been pretty good this year. Even Kane Cornes noted how fit we looked against Port 2 months back (considering the guy is a fitness freak I’d trust his judgement). I agree we are probably carrying a few players who aren’t fully fit but which team isn’t these days? Like everyone else on here, I’m just guessing, but my best guess is there’s a disconnect between the coaches and the players surrounding the game plan. The players no longer believe it works and when you’re not 100% invested, then effort can fall away quite quickly.10 points

It is the gameplan but it's also the players; 5 seriously down on expected form; Petty, Viney, Oliver, Bowey & Sparrow 5 being played out of position; Petty, ANB, Kozzy, Rivers & Langdon 2 not suitably fit enough or capable of meeting the requirements of the level; McAdam & Hunter 2 critically important to our structure not playing; Lever & JVR 2 removed from the list; Brayshaw and Smith (a massive handicap vs every other team) 0 back up for Max (v Freo), JVR does a manful job but it does rob us of a forward 2 recruited for the role completely unseen and unlikely to provide any relief; Schache & Fullarton9 points

We have a lot of concerns after such a dismal effort/outcome. The one I would like to focus on, and one that I think has been slightly off all season, is selection! Petty was rushed back into the team after poor form for Casey. BBB was rushed back into the team, on at least one occasion, after poor form at Casey. McAdam was brought into the team after one good game, and some limited game time at Casey. Turner was rushed back into the team without game time at Casey. Bowey was rushed back into the team without game time at Casey. Hunter was rushed back into the team without significant game time at Casey. Woewodin isn't rewarded for good form with selection in the 23. Fullerton has had reasonable performances at Casey and should have been Max's back-up when JVR was unavailable. Meanwhile, AMW has consistently performed at Casey. Kynan Brown should have had an opportunity by now.9 points

I don't believe that selling our home game to the NT is costing us wins. Yesterday's game would have been played at Marvel if it wasn't at Traeger. If Richmond and Collingwood can't get 11 home games at the MCG what makes anyone think we would? Yesterday we would have lost by 92 points at Docklands in front of 10,000 people. Instead the club made $800,000 in appearance fees.8 points

Unlike some on here, I’m not smart enough to know how to fix our problem - I don’t even know what the real problem is. But I do know one thing: we are sadly missing Gus, not just on the field, but off it as well. He was definitely the heart and soul of the Club. No one appears to have stepped up to replace his leadership and immense encouragement he would heap on his teammates on the field. When your heart and soul is gone, without a replacement, you are left with an empty vessel. And that’s the way we are playing. I also believe - and perhaps the players do too - that the Club let Gus down by not appealing that shameful tribunal outcome. I’m sure Gus felt let down by that. And even more so well after the verdict when he received the medical advice to retire. im sure there are a myriad of reasons as to why we are playing so poorly, but I’m also pretty sure sure that the Gus factor is one of them.8 points

Maynard was never going to smother that ball, he lined up a Player and executed with the Full shoulder to the head. And got zero penalty for it That’s what occurred8 points
-
Couldn't agree more with the first half of your statement, but to say Goodwin fluked a premiership is laughable. Have a look at ALL of our finals wins in '21 and you don't 'fluke' 100 pts to 7 in the last 40 mins of a Grand Final.8 points

Kudos to you guys being able to front up an do a podcast tonight given that insipid performance. Saw a post on Twitter by a guy who calls himself Footy Degenerate. His post is a pretty good summation. "The Malice Springs Disaster First of all, hats off to Fremantle. Played the game right. Too quick, too skilful and too efficient, well done. Now.. The Dees. Aboration? Mulligan? No. Every loss has been a thumping and concern in one way or another. There’s a pattern. We haven’t had a 4 qtr performance all year. Today was the first time a team punished us rightfully on the scoreboard for 4 Qtrs. Our new Gameplan doesn’t suit our squad. We don’t have the skills to play it, the boys haven’t bought into it, we are turning it over in defence and centre square and our defence has been under siege as a result. I’ve said all year McQualter has offered nothing. I’m not seeing any “Richmond chaos ball”. Stafford hasn’t improved our fwd line ( cohesively or individually ). Both have ALOT of work to do. Our wins haven’t been convincing. Bulldogs ( they had their chances ), Hawks ( they were awful ), Port ( they should have won ), Crows ( didn’t take their chances ), Tigers ( we were awful ), Cats ( played one very good quarter ) and Saints ( they were gross ). None of the boys have improved on 2023 form. None. And with 16+ players Under 30, that’s a concern. Actually T-Mac has, but it’s his last or 2nd last year. Without Max, Lever, May and Trac, we’d be in an awful spot. How we took a Gameplan that worked and could easily have gotten us to a Prelim in ‘23 bar awful finishing, and turn it into this inept Gameplan is beyond me. There were ZERO red flags on our Gameplan, just on our fwd line setup and goalkicking accuracy. Absolute overreaction from our coaches. Yet here we are. Easy to play against. No mongrel. No confidence in what they are doing. Little belief. And stuff all depth. Media cos ya to ask oppo coaches “how you guys gonna go against Trac, Viney and Clarry?” Inside they are loving it. Cos they aren’t the 2021-2023 versions of themselves. It’s a broken system, with broken confidence and morale. ( on the field and in the stands ). Richmond got spanked in 2017 by St Kilda in a similar fashion and went on to win the flag. They ensured it “made them” and didn’t break them. Can the Dees do something similar? Only time will tell. They’ve got the Cattle, but the Farmer has to make some changes, otherwise their season will be Roast Beef in a few weeks time. PS I obviously don’t “Hate” the MFC, but I do hate what those in charge are doing to it on the field."8 points

Getting weird in here, guys. I missed the game because my mum had a health scare and I was in the emergency ward with her all afternoon. Turns out I had a better afternoon than anyone who watched the game. (She’s ok, btw).8 points

Sick of all this Maynard rubbish, it derailed our finals last year & mid 2024 we’re still taking about it, get over it!!!!! Maybe a bit of focus about getting our season back on track8 points

Canary in the coalmine was us losing to The Eagles. I don't care if you're on the road, anyone properly in the race for a flag doesn't let that happen.7 points

I have not read most of this thread but one point that needs to be made is that we should not be playing a home game in Alice Springs. (And I understand the commercial realities mean that the current alternative is playing at Marvel.) The best way to grow the club is to win football matches and the NT deal reduces our chances to win.7 points
-
The only thing I would add to this is that it was an opportunistic hit entirely. It started as an attempt to smother - legitimately - but once the ball beat him Skunkhead saw a chance to take out an opponent and did so with intent. Turning of his body was the give away.7 points
-
yes it’s a terrible loss. The worst fr many years. But I’m honestly embarrassed to hear so much talk about sacking our only premiership coach since 64 and after 3 top 4 finishes. The coach is NOT the problem.7 points
-
Has one of the players imported from other clubs post 2021 established himself in the best 22. I can't think of one Pre-season I had us tagged as a 6-10 club which is most likely correct. The club has lost its way at the Casey level which doesn't help. (Recruitment of Casey listed players)7 points
-
The only positive I can take out of this debacle is that in Round 13 of the year 2000 we lost to Carlton by 98 points and then went on to play in a Grand Final. That's all I've got.7 points

I think Goodwin has a fair bit to answer for 1. Harrison Petty, playing unfit after a serious foot injury, playing forward & gifting him games when he doesn’t deserve them. (This sends a terrible message to the whole list) 2. James Jordon/Lachie Hunter, this one still burns deep. Getting rid of a hard working 23yo popular teammate replacing with a slow 29yo with nothing to offer & a history of poor culture. 3. Brodie Grundy, was treated woefully, promised the world & given nothing. Goodwin gave up on this plan years to early & now we have a champion 33yo ruckman getting bashed every week with no backup. 4. Billings, McAdam, Shcache, BBB (these players shouldn’t even be on our list) none of them have any on field impact. Not all of this is his doing, but the buck stops with him & then of course there’s the elephant in the room that’s been hanging around for 12 months If we beat Freo we would’ve been 3rd so he deserves a bit of slack, but if things spiral out of control for the rest of the season it should be time for a change at the top6 points
-
Of concern each trading period, is our inability to attract any serious free agent, we are not even in the conversation. Similarly, why aren't we trying to attract a big name still in contract? Interstate Victorians? We are never in these conversations. We have been in a premiership window, which should be attractive to free agents and homesick Victorians. Instead we are trying to get lucky with other teams' discards.6 points

Do other posters feel like the wheels have completely fallen off? I mean to be beaten is one thing but by almost 100 points is just humiliation. It's right off the back of being thumped by a lowly eagles team a fortnight ago. So it's not an aberration. I'm not sure what such a thumping does to a team's confidence but I guess we will find out against the pies. The lack of fight back in the second half was not the way we have played in the last four years. We gave up at halftime and it was Mfc of old unfortunately. Maybe we will scrape into the final eight but it looks like dark years ahead. Again. We will probably be like the Western dogs for a while and hover around eight to tenth spot or a couple of years and then who knows. It's hard to be positive after a belting like that in this day and age Id suggest a change of coach at the end of the year. Not because Goody has failed. He hasn't, he got us a flag. But it's time for some new blood in the role and time to build our list up again. Max is getting on in years and we need to find another ruckman. Asap. JV is looking slow and tired. Sparrow is not really a midfielder. Bbb is past it. We can't have players moved on from other clubs like Schache, Hunter, Billings, Fullerton and McAdam taking up spots. It's time to prune at the end of this busted season and start a fresh.6 points

All legitimate Reasons I think we have some off field problems as well. It all compounds. We haven’t been “right” all year6 points

Two appalling losses in three weeks, both to WA sides, one that had only won 7 games in three years. Yep. All good carry on.6 points

NORM SMITH Coached the DEES TO 6 PREMIERSHIPS and got every ounce of talent out of all players. You cannot even contemplate a comparison to Simon Goodwin, who FLUKED a premiership and has wasted the last 3 years of what has been recognised as a Crack list!!6 points

Is there a divide ....not so much between.players and coach... or players and plan... as much as the players. Is there a rift.. It happens... just wondering. That game was a result of what happens between the ears. There's something nqr about all of this. Like a volcano. Just my opinion6 points
-
I'm not going to say that performance was actually Simon's fault. But ultimately it's his responsibility, and that of the club. That he essentially stood there at games end and had no real idea as to why is for me the greatest concern. Yes he described the malaise but seemed at a total loss. That summed up the game.....a total loss. A lacklustre parade of disinterested, uncollaborative disconnected players. The absolute antithesis of a 'team'. The elephant in the room has to be the Oliver effect and its knock ons. I'm not blaming him , he's only one player but this year we don't look the same. You can tell when a group march in step.... If there was but one vibe a out that game...it was to me "why bother". What brings a team to that crossroad ? He didn't day it but Goodwin might as well have uttered " well I didn't see that coming" That he didn't might give rise to the thought he wasn't 100% surprised. Annoyed yes, Unacceptable...yes... but unexpected ?? He looked like a bloke whose worst fears just played out for all to see. KB will tell us everything about this club...and it's future. Go Dees.....somehow....6 points

I feel the same. So much about that game was so unusually bad that it almost felt dream-like. I half-expected Goodwin to go into the press conference and go full Chris Scott: "A virus ran through us this week. We thought about replacing half the team." But no. So what is it? "We're overrated" has come up a lot on here. Almost certainly true, but it doesn't account for total un-competitiveness for a full three and a half quarters two weeks after being thoroughly rinsed by West Coast. The optimist in me says "Well, Richmond had some huge losses in their 2017 and 2019 Flag years". The realist says the same as you: something's going on.6 points
-
We should've been them in 2022 and 2023. 2022 I believe was mismanaged, peaked too early and didn't know how to best prepare for a shortened preseason, which in return resulted in half our team injured by September. 2023 It was a combination of bad luck and lack of Fwd depth. I am almost certain that had Melksham, Kozzy and JVR not missed any of the finals, we were a good chance to win the premiership. This year just feels like 2020 all over again.6 points

Agree Roffey does go MIA, and as a member hard questions need to be answered coz if she can't hack it then GO. I'm also CERTAIN Goody has run his race as coach of MFC. Stafford should also be given the short Shift!6 points

Watched the game live yesterday and in short this team simply has no mongrel or desire to want to be the best. I have never seen so many broken tackles or players unaccounted for, even Viney looked mellow yesterday. I'm not sure if President Kate has the courage to make a decision that after yesterday appears closer to reality. Only a miraculous turnaround against Collingwood would change this perception.6 points

Petty and mcadam can’t be in that forward line next week. Petty averaging 6 disposals and has kicked one goal in 6 matches. Goodwin is clueless. Ben brown is cooked. Turner ain’t a forward. A complete failure on our coaching and recruiting staff to solve a problem that has been going on for years.6 points

Interesting to me that Goodwin acknowledged that our inconsistency and poor form has been going on all year, not just the last 4 weeks. Good to hear him admit it. Worrying to know we’ve been unhappy with our form all year and it’s getting worse rather than better.5 points

Considering our list, last 3 seasons including 1 flag and two other top 4 finishes (the back to back straight set exits were hard to swallow) today for me is on par with 186. Today’s result was more than embarrassing, we are a joke of a club right now. Our last 3 weeks says a lot, beaten by the Eagles, a scrappy win over the hapless Saints and today’s destruction at the hands of Freo. As alluded to by others there’s something not right inside the club right now because we are obviously not as bad as we’re playing. Todays lack of effort was a statement by the players, todays loss requires more than just a review of the game. If Goody has lost the players he has to go straight away, we are currently spiraling out of control. Look at how many players Collingwood had out on Friday night and look at how the played, speaks volumes. Absolutely no excuses, none.5 points

Yeah, After he was chasing 3 free players by himself as they handball around him with no support. That is what he cracked it, he was there, but no one else over the help. That is why we got pumped today, that mindset.5 points

I would summon the entire Football Department Staff for a meeting tomorrow morning. Everyone who works with the Players and Coaches to attend. there is disconnection between Players, and disconnection between Coaches and we have find the answers quickly. The entire team shut down today after 5 minutes, Why? Everybody needs to talk it through, be honest There is a reason for our poor performances this year and it has to be laid bare. losing Brayshaw on the eve of the Season, is one reason I think has really effected the Core of the Club, but there will be other reasons as well. Today was unacceptable and we have to get to the bottom of it. The Big Talk is needed. It doesn’t have to be nasty, but it has to happen Everyone must attend and be honest….5 points

I’ll be brutally honest I don’t like the pretty consistent invoking of binmans name around here when we lose. I see multiple posters doing what you just did or saying something along the lines of ‘gee can’t wait for binman to comment on this’. The guy gives his opinions from what I’ve seen malice free unless provoked, is reasonable in his analysis in that he offers evidence and reasoning to his thoughts (which A LOT of posters on here are incapable of doing) and devotes his time free of charge to doing the podcast. If you disagree that’s fine. But if you or any other poster wants to say something about Binman, say something straight to Binman and don’t do it surreptitiously by just dropping his name. It’s petty and conveys cowardice.5 points

My son's under 14 team lost by 118 points today and that still wasn't the worst performance I endured. Well done MFC. So how did we get here? 1. The coach is convinced he is the smartest person in the room and doesn't need to change anything at any time. And we reward him by extending his contract after consecutive straight sets finals exits. 2. We simply refuse to respect our opponents by attempting to counter their strengths, negate their key players or changing our tactics. 3. Jason Taylor has absolutely butchered three consecutive drafts. His obsession with drafting half forwards has left us with a list bereft of developing defenders and midfielders, let alone a genuine back up ruck. 4. We give multi year contracts to C graders like Spargo and Laurie, and resign players like Melksham who are neither part of the present or the future. 5. We play injured and unfit players every single week. 6. We pick sides on reputation - we don't reward good performances at Casey and we don't drop underperforming senior players (eg Sparrow and Petty). Hence we have a team of lazy, complacent footballers. 7. Speaking of Casey, we haven't genuinely supported the alliance over the past two years and it shows with the performances we are receiving. 8. Every single experienced player we have brought to the club since the grand final has made us worse. None of Hunter, Grundy, Billings, McAdam or Fullarton is/was a best 22 player. 9. We don't turn over the list enough to give us opportunities to draft young talent. Being out of the 2023 draft after the first round was a disgrace. We used to be the best in the business at finding talent with late draft picks. 10. We squander resources chasing 1 in a million prospects such as Farris-White and Bradtke who were never, ever going to make it. It was embarrassing watching KFW on Saturday. 11. We don't have a game plan that suits our playing list and we ask our players to do things that don't come naturally to them.5 points
