Watched Goody on 360 last night. When asked about Tmac form. He said it was great to have him kicking goals but it’s his movement that they are most impressed with said he will definitely get his chance over the coming weeks. Edit just listened to what Goody said again-“ it’s not really the way he has performed, it’s the way he has moved, he’s back moving to his best, he’s injury free and feeling free in his body and Tom at his best is a really important player for us. He’s put himself in the selection mix and an opportunity is certainly going to come his way at some stage” Big praise from Goody18 points

If we can get back the Tom circa early 2021 we will win the flag. People forget that his role is the one we’ve been most desperate to replace. That player who can take a mark or bring the ball to ground repeatedly on the wings and provide the down the line target. If he can recapture that form for 3 games, it allows us to play Gawn behind the ball if needed, JVR can play deep when not helping in the ruck, and we can get Smith to play a defensive role on the opposition’s intercept defender. I for one would be bloody thrilled to get a fit and hungry Tmac back!17 points

He played 9 games for us in his final year. He was out of contract and knew he was surplus. He got 3 years, 26 games and played in a grand final with the Doggies. Not everyone is a superstar. Considering he was a mature aged recruit I would say he has had a good career. Cheers for the goal Hannan. I will never forget it.16 points

WCE have publicly said they would trade pick 1. WCE and North have almost certainly come up with a solution the delivers Curtain to WCE and leaves Reid to be traded out. MFC and WCE have already come to "in-principle" agreement for Reid, plenty of fine tuning to be done but leaves a live option for Dees. No other club can satisfy WCE I hear the MFC feels it does not have room for all its early picks. In other words, they will be forced to delist players they want to keep. Far better therefore to trade up. I think the chances of us landing Reid and very high.14 points

Just wanted to start a birthday thread in honor of such a big important reliable part of our club, the milkshake himself, Mr. Jake Melksham! Go get yourself a milkshake today to celebrate this birthday. Couple of things, first of all our team would just not be a shadow of what it is leading into finals this year without the Milkshake, and that isn't just being said because of what has happened but has been a genuine thought all season before and after he made it into the best 22 (I always thought he should be in there). He is the x-factor and provides grit, reliability, an elite kick for goal (especially the bananas), and just such a positive professional attitude and vibe for the whole team and has really made our forward line look like a forward line. So happy birthday Jake, despite this terrible news we are all super fans of what you've done for our club this year and we know we wouldn't be where we are without you on the field. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I'd love nothing more than to see you recover well and get back on the field and kick some more bananas from the boundary!! If anyone can do it, you can!! Also what are people's favorite milkshake flavors? Mine is vanilla malt...can't beat it!!! Best are those big milkshakes they used to have at the pancake parlor, haven't been in there for years but damn they were good, even if they cost you about twenty bucks worth every cent. Get better Milkshake, we hope the footy gods smile and we see you in the red and blue once again.13 points

Any chance we can get a couple of copies then. We seem to be running out of forwards.12 points

McVee has a brilliant year to many he came out of nowhere to play every game. He is being recognised outside the club as his 4th indicates. Another example of our excellent recruiting when you consider he was a real "rookie" not selected in the main draft like the eventual winner Sheezel from North or runner up like Ashcroft.11 points

fwiw, good source tells me we're 'odds on' to get pick 4 from gc17 pick 1 is 'up for discussion' if the above happens - i assume cos we're looking at bundling 4 and 5 for 1 i'm all for it11 points

There has been some ridiculous MRP and tribunal decisions this year, but this wasn't one of them. Weitering inadvertently glanced Greene's face whilst trying to remove Greene from his headlock on McGovern. Fine was correct decision. On the other hand Bedford was stiff. Hope he gets off on appeal.11 points

Beating Collingwood and Melky sinking Brisbane. Generally seeing the development of McVee, JVR, Woewodin and last two weeks Laurie and Turner. No stubborn Goody at team selections. Clearly he identified this in the off season from last year because it's evident this year that he isn't afraid to make tough decisions and move players around.10 points

Had the surreal experience of being a Melbourne supporter talking a Carlton supporter at work through how to go about buying her finals tickets tomorrow. 😂9 points

I'm a life fan but live overseas now, so the only way that makes sense to support the club is through merch and a 3 game membership. Not ideal but words can't express how good it feels to be heading back to watch this game!9 points

Carlton has had so much "luck" at the Tribunal that I think it's fair to say now that "luck" plays no part in these decisions.9 points

SHARING BARCODES! - It’s a nice sentiment BUT be careful sharing them - it’s the same barcode for all the finals meaning once someone has your code they can use it for the rest of the finals (including the GF if needed) and you can’t stop it. I’d like to think everyone here is trustworthy but Demonland is such an anonymous place it and we know that opposition supporters register.9 points

The regular season has come and gone rather quickly. With the game over a week away, maybe it’s time to remember some of the moments that made you go bananas during a match this season.8 points

Melksham's goal was right up there but seeing this kid run out of the G and receiving his last wish was special:8 points

I think a lot of this publicity is specifically for the collingwood army clicks. Heaps of views are possible if you're reporting on trouble for the opposition. Jesus I hate Collingwood. Fritsch to kick 6 on Thursday eve and shut those ferals up.8 points

Moon boots hold the ankle in a neutral position, 90 degrees to the leg. The boots immobilise foot joints and reduce pressure on the bones, ligaments and tendons of the foot and ankle while still allowing for a relatively normal walking gait. Most people usually find that the moon boot can drastically reduce pain. It can help them get around without limping or the use of crutches It provides less stress on bones and ligaments then it would trying to limp around on without one.8 points

It's about him taking the number 1 defender to release JVR and Fritta. JVR was playing on Sydney's best defender in Tom McCartin and I think it's fair to say Van Rooyen would have learnt a big lesson. McCartin is a gun defender and I think Tmac coming in to take their best defender has a positive domino effect on Rooey and Fritsch.8 points

I feel like our "tagging" hasnt been about midfielders, it's been about half forwards and half backs. We used Rivers as an offensive weapon on dangerous half forwards, making them accountable. We use Melksham* on dangerous defenders, making them accountable. It's not the same as "stopping/tagging" but it is our way of taking key opposition players out of the game by moving them out of where they want to be structurally. Opposition teams try to do this with Lever. When we have Turner in this becomes more difficult because he can play the intercept role too. *Melksham is a bigger out than many realise. He has been unbelievable this year shutting down intercept players like Harris Andrews and Darcy Moore serially and by making them accountable. I don't believe we have a true replacement for him and am unsure how our structure will look with him missing. If TMac comes in, it may become JVRs job (JVR often took those players when Melksham was on the bench). Melkshams out really hurts our premiership chances I think.8 points

Same here. If I had a choice between L1 & L4 I'd go L4 every time. L1 I feel like I am looking through the players and lose the perspective I have from higher up where I can see what is going on. Often I find myself watching the big screens. As for the running of wingers and half forwards, ABSOLUTELY! I've often thought those that have been critical of the likes of ANB really need to get up to L4 and see what he actually does.7 points

I'm M55 too. Wanted Cat 1, level two but all gone by the time i got in. Had to make do with Cat 2 seats, ground level. But fortunately 19 rows back from the fence, so pretty good elevation. And got seats 1,2,3 which i love because they are at the end of the row Go redlegs7 points

It's not really about the opposition though, it's about his freedom of movement. We know he can compete strongly at the top level if he has that.7 points

Bitter as someone who considers themselves pretty savvy online I really struggled and missed a few tricks. If I'm struggling with it I can't imagine how the less savvy are coping with all this. It's not good.7 points
