  1. Fritta and Viney update. I was at Gosch's, Saturday morning, beautiful down there. A group of under 15's playing a half field game. 8 Blokes have a training drill. Storm having a captain's run, and Fritta and Viney doing their rehab. Looks like Fritta has ticked the boxes. Runs of various lengths, and the sharp start/stop, using hats. Finished off with numerous 70 meter sprints. Jack running laps, some parts, going 3/4 pace and the occasional walk. He had some knee strapping on, which he took off and finished more runs. Appears unhindered. I ask the trainer how they were. She said they “have finished”. Could be, they have finished their rehab, or just the session. All looked very positive.

  3. Here’s my 2 bobs worth a week out. From listening to the chatter and reading the tea leaves from above the top end horizon. Going on previous ‘happenings’ Judd McVee appears to be the anointed one and is in a good position to debut. After accounting for Roy Higgins and Last of the Mohawks in the practice sims. Don’t wish to denigrate the young lass who put together the Round 1 mock team, but Michael Hibberd may need some additional match conditioning before being considered. Kade Chandler is now a lock with Kysaiah Pickett gone a roving and Bayley Fritsch still in recovery. Despite ‘Astro’ Naughton briefly getting off the leash round 1 ‘22. Steven May has his measure and it’s back to the pound. Big Demon dog on an over-coiffured poodle. Not bothered by Beveridge’s delusions of Napoleonic grandeur at the ‘G. Bulldog’s purported reliance on too many talls up forward has historically been a flawed strategy in elite Aussie rules. Especially the modern game. Giraffes don’t chase gazelles. Bevo the chameleon has morphed from Chopper to the Lil’ Caesar out west for this season. But throwing the talls forward is akin to sending in the Imperial Guard at Waterloo. Demons are the better balanced team with champions on every line, in defence, midfield and forward. Judging from today’s training session photos, senior team morale is buoyant but also focused and determined. Clayton Oliver is in awesome mettle. Attila the Hun move over Clarrie’s already banging at the gates of Whitten Oval. Et tu Trac? Beware the Ides of March Luke!

  5. I did. In 1992 on a road trip from Chicago to Los Angeles, I made a point of turning left at Albuquerque, curious to discover where the wisdom of Bugs Bunny would lead me. The road led me to a town called "Truth or Consequences" where I went to the movies in an old cinema and and stayed overnight sleeping in a rental Teepee. True story.

  8. Her hand was kind of forced. We’ve looked like the goddamn Melbourne Globetrotters in pre season. I’ve had to take numerous cold showers after each game.

  9. I was fortunate enough years ago to work on an MFC project cataloguing a lot of their vast trove of memorabilia. This was while it was in temporary storage of the sports museum in the depths of the MCG. Many athletes put on loan or bequeath their medals, uniforms or other gear for safe keeping. Pluggers Locket's Brownlow and Coleman medals were in storage , Betty Cuthbert's track suit and even a funny old bike that was ridden to glory for an olympic gold medal reside down there. Many of the old cricket bats are kept in the MCC museum on loan. The owners say they are properly stored and are kept in a safe secure environment. There is o much in storage that isn't on display.

  10. I am a fan of CW most of the time (she gets it wrong on occasion like everyone) and believe the footy landscape is better for her presence. But she is so one-eyed it’s ridiculous!

  17. I am excited for Richmond to have a decidedly terrible season... Mainly because in 2022 the first thing my very senior coworker (pro Tiges) said to me was that Dee fans are obnoxious, can't go the distance and we won't win again for another 57 years ...No, I'm not bitter on the daily about this, why do you ask?

  19. Predicts us for top of ladder and Clayton Oliver for Brownlow. Collingwood to dump out of the 8. Does she deserve a Demonland rehabilitation? https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/why-i-m-tipping-collingwood-to-miss-the-eight-caroline-wilson-s-afl-season-crystal-ball-20230310-p5cqzw.html

  20. Ticketek is a disgrace. Admittedly we are not young, but it's not as if we are out-of-date oldies who are fazed by technology. This household has at least 3 professional IT people in it who have even written the sort of stuff Ticketek is trying to do and we struggle getting it to do what we want in an efficient manner.

  21. I don't understand the hype on the Tigers. i see no evidence at all to suggest they're a legitimate premiership threat.

  22. I think they might sneak into the 8 but no way they have a run like last year especially with Suns, Blues and Port pushing back towards finals.

  24. Thanks Demonland and Brodie Grundy great interview and noticed that you were able to fit a lot of the questions in and get honest answers from Brodie. Max downplayed his role in getting Grundy across to the Dees but Brodie has mentioned Max’s influence in his last two interviews and how impressed he was that Max was in the Room. There’s a lot to like about Brodie Grundy and we are indeed fortunate that he chose us and I love Bruce’s dance moves above. Lol.!!!!

  25. I also note he didn’t hand over his premiership medallion - shows which of the two medals is most important to him.

  27. The Lions certainly kicked themselves out of the game. They hit the post a couple of times and missed a few easy shots at goal. Basically, as a hit out, it didn’t really achieve much for Casey - a few players staked a claim for a place but competition for places is going to be tight.

  29. By the sounds of the article I think we need to project our round 1 sides without Fritsch and Viney, but expect them to be key ins for the Brisbane game. After what happened last year and the talk of playing underdone/injured players, I can't imagine the club playing Fritta with literally no practice match or match simulation for probably a month leading into the Dogs game.

  30. Well done on the excellent interview done with new Melbourne recruit Brodie Grundy, @Demonland it is greatly appreciated! 😊👍🏻 Hopefully, you might get a chance to get Mark "Choco" Williams in for an interview sometime? That would be awesome too!

  31. As a 26 year loyal member, Player Sponsor and every other type of fanatical group. No wonder a older generation or people in general are frustrated with the digital Ticketing system. I understand the digital world since 1980, but the current situation of Ticketing is a absolute debacle to members and the general public. Today I tried to book two guests into the MCC. I have 3 guest passes. Category 2. Ticketek along with the MFC mobile Ticketing system is a disgrace. Took more than 30 mins 3 re logins, as you were redirected to different websites. Barcodes wernt recognised with guest passes. I shake my head. But I have 2 guests coming @$93 Go Deez. #fixthismess

  36. So out of the Casey players the players that played last week were Sheridan, Grass, Baldi, Cross, Freeman and Valentine So last weeks team was B: D.Smith, D.Turner, Buntine HB: Hibberd, Tomlinson, Freeman C: Howes, Jordon, Burgoyne HF: Sestan, van Rooyen, K.Turner F: Moniz-Wakefield, Schache, Jefferson FOLL: Verrall, Munro, Goonan IC: Farris-White, Steele, Grey, Sheridan, Grass, Baldi, Cross, Valentine I think Valentine kicked a goal against Richmond not Schache so Schache had 4, van Rooyen 2 and singles to Valentine, Grey, Jefferson and Verrall.

  40. Out of all AFL teams we have one of the lists that will cause the Dogs headaches with their new approach. They will likely never use all 4 talls at once for various reasons already stated. We have 3 quality KPDs plus Gus who is a great mark for a medium sized defender. Max can float into defence if they’re getting on top offensively. There is also only so much space in the F50 available so it’s likely that a lot of contests will be large packs, and marks within them are rare. On the flip side, the dogs need to counter our dual AA rucks, and the 3 tall forwards when one of them rests forward with BBB and Tmac. That will mean Lobb giving English a break from the ruck, pulling one of their talls from attack, and possibly even requiring English or Lobb to float back to cover our resting ruck. The solution to their strategy is simply give them their own headaches to deal with. I believe we have the players and structure to do that.

  41. Great to see the Stynes family donating his Brownlow to the museum. However even more surprising was Trac donating his Norm Smith medal so soon after winning it! Said that it means more to him having the fans come and see it. What a guy!

  44. Half Time: Casey Demons 7.2.44 to Coburg 3.7.25 Goals: Muley 2 Baldi Briggs Cross Sheridan Woodhouse Coburg wasted a lot of opportunities in that quarter and should be much closer. Shepherd playing a great game in defence for the Demons.

  45. Gold Coast are my smokies for the 8. They have a good midfield and Touk is a bloody star.... he is welcome to come to the Dees when he's had enough of that horrible jumper 😁 But in all seriousness could they finally make it? At the expense of Collingwood would be absolutely stunning!
