So impressed with Jackson. Playing in the ruck and knocking the ball to himself or handballing to a team mate. LJ at 18 years old, the things he does is similar to what Nic Nat does in the ruck. He is so mature for his age. He took it up to Goldstein like he has been around for ages. To me he is the pick of the crop. Congrats to the recruiters. A player for the future.21 points

Well, we did the job in fine style. Petracca Really owned the title bull. Showed terriffic breakaway strength. Jackson - last week was no fluke Kossi - Jeez this kid will an Eddie Betts!!! PS Silly me. Thoyght last weeks umpiring was [censored] PPS. Has the over the shoulder too high rule been removed? PPPS I'll let @picket fence comment on Spargos" game. Go dees BTW I made some good money on the punt today19 points

Spargo?? Are you serious? He had 7 score involvements and barely wasted the ball. Did some actually watched tonights game?17 points
-
Completely unfair. Which game were you watching mate? Spargo was involved in pretty much every Melbourne scoring chain for the match. Just wow.17 points

Let’s keep it on the level. North are abysmal. The amount of time and space we had in that last quarter especially was ludicrous. We should have run over them and we did. It’s very nice to have some genuine A graders to watch every week though in Clarry and Trac. Lever continuing his solid form. And always nice to see a Demonland whipping boy have a good game. Well done Spargs ?16 points

Given the last 14 years, I’d take a 1 point win over North. So to win by 57 points (should have been 100) is wonderfully satisfying. Petracca, Oliver and Brayshaw simply magnificent. Lever’s best game for the club. Spargo back to his 2018 form. Jackson lacks a bit of size, but his skill set.... WOW! Players of his size have no right to pick the ground ball up the way he does. 5-5 with plenty of winnable games left. Beat Collingwood and the lid is off!16 points

Luke Jackson's work below his knees and speed of dishing out handballs - to advantage - is unparalleled in my opinion for an 18yo of his size.15 points

How good is dishing out beltings in the last quarter? I could get used to it. This one should have been even bigger than it was.15 points

A bit of a shout out to D. Burgess and the fitness team. Not a bad 4 day program with 2 smashing last quarters.13 points

Langdon did a number of good kicks. The shocking kick thing is massively overplayed and is nothing but confirmation bias. He kicks at full pace, which is pacier than everyone else’s version of full pace. There will be the odd shank.12 points

Good win tonight, did what we needed to in Adelaide ... Next two weeks are massive, a depleted pies and a inconsistent dogs side. Two wins there and we will be in a real position to launch in the back end of the season.11 points

Rubbish. A "bad player" doesn't play nearly 200 games. He's just an ok player. Very skilled, has obvious deficiencies. This mentality from so many footy fans that someone is either a complete dud or an absolute star is just incredibly shallow.11 points

17 Disposals at 71% and a goal. I was quite impressed by his game.10 points

Agree with all... except for two. Sparrow has a really good game. 17 touches, 4 tackles and a goal is a good day out for a kid in his second season. He is really showing something at the moment. And thought Weideman deserved more than 'didn't take chances'. While that is true, he was excellent in the first half and really kept us in the game.10 points

So they had players on the bench. So some of their good players were injured or dropped. So what. I don't care. So sick of that team beating Melbourne, especially down at that stupid ground in Tassie where they always managed to win the toss to take advantage of the howling gale down there. Happy to not only win the game but to beat them.10 points

Mick Malthouse said today that we have another 'wasted season' on our hands. Stick that where the sun don't shine, Mick. Took us a quarter to settle, and to kick straight, but we smashed them off the park. Disposal count etc doesn't interest me, as we controlled the game easily tonight. We moved it better, we worked harder and we made it count. The inclusions all had a positive impact tonight, starting with Spargo. Pickett was great, Tom did his job and Rivers showed some good signs down back. On that, our back line was sublime once again. Larkey kicked a few but no one else really looked like getting near it. Our season is well and truly alive at 5-5 and a healthy percentage to boot. Bring on the filth on Saturday for the real test!10 points

We are BACK That felt like a 100 point win. We have so much absurd talent in the under 24 bracket, it will be a crime if we dont win a flag in the next 5 years10 points

Great second half as we were allowed to get on top of North when finally the umpires largely put their whistles away and let the game flow. The first quarter umpiring should be subject to an AFL review, it was putrid and bordering on corrupt.9 points

Jackson, Kozzie, Pickett, Sparrow. Injecting some serious talent into our side once again. Spargo was back to his best. Kept it simple and used the ball well. Courageous going in for that ball against Daw and bounced up like nothing happened. Lever was our best backman by a mile. Kept everything in check. I also thought Tomlinson was good. He rarely wasted the footy and gave us some good drive. Langdon is a ridiculously hard worker. His running ability and workrate to create space and option on the outside cannot be faulted. Petracca, Oliver, Brayshae.. all simply brilliant. Hands up who think our midfield functions when Gus is in there full time instead of Viney?9 points

Was good to see Byron watching on in the stands....... BRING ON THE FILTH !9 points

A special mention to Oliver who has been getting a lot of flack here for his disposal. Has really turned it around.8 points

I despise North Melbourne. I just went back and watched the 1st qtr because i knew the free kick count on afl.com was wrong. i counted 3-14 in favour of North if you include the 50 metre penalty. Funnily enough that was their best quarter. Positives: Trac, Lever, Clarry, Weid, Jackson and Rivers all brilliant for me. A lot of people on here loving Spargo's game, maybe i need to rewatch, thought he was good not outstanding. Negatives: Harmes once again with the ill discipline. Goal Kicking was poor.8 points

I'm struggling to find any post match stuff on KAYO. Dunstall trying to be funny is like watching Stephen Hawking attempt the Decathlon in the Olympics. Throw in the comedic timing of Andrew Gaze and it's like sitting through a major surgery without so much as an aspirin to kill the pain.8 points

12 goals from 6 games. Only 5 players averaging more than 2 goals a game this year. Of those 5, only Kennedy and Dixon are talls. He’s having a GREAT season.8 points
-
I think Brayshaw adds more than Viney does in the middle personally. He creates space whereas Viney barges through it.8 points

BRAYSHAW IS HE FINISHED? HAVE A RETHINK ON ALL OF THESE PLAYERS. Spargo he is no good. TMAC Shouldn't be playing? Clarry CAN'T KICK! Lever is overrated? Have a good rethink about knocking all of the above. There is plenty of upside and just starting to find their mojo.8 points

Spargo also playing a good game. But unfortunately you won't see that on here.8 points

Indeed. How many premierships are won with 22 star players, absolutely none. Always will like Jack if only for the goal that killed Collingwood...8 points

Essentially details our history associated with universities, big business and accountants (so not blue collar). Details Glen Bartlett's choice to move here for work even though he played in WA Poor drafting choices, contrasts Cale Morton to Lachie Henderson Questions drafting both May and Lever, as they are allegedly similar types Wonders about the influence or lack thereof of Richardson on game style States that everyone knows that the sweat on the gym floor at Aami Park is Melbourne Storm and not the players - ie: don't work hard enough 3 A graders - Gawn, Petracca (when he works hard enough) and Oliver Can't spread Our bodies are not big enough to compete with the best. post script. I'm neither here nor there on Malthouse or anyone commenting on any team. This is such a superficial sense making article, a grab bag of quotes and anecdotes (see comment re: Melbourne Storm) which I believe was from around 5-10 years ago. But it is of course the Herald Sun.8 points

What I like about the game today is that we did it with a young side - 3 first year players in their teens in Pickett, Jackson and Rivers plus Swallow who just turned 20. We’ve also picked up a good ‘un in Langdon and Tomlinson adds to the mix. Very much like Port Adelaide last year.7 points

He kicked 39.24 over his career, showing he is a great kick for goal. This year he has 12.7. Even adding a couple of misses to that, he still has a healthy accuracy.7 points

The Top Ten things I would like to see vs. the Roos. 1) Tomald to not interfere with our forward structure. Primary ruck role – follow Goldy around and stop him from marking/scoring. Cut off outlets. Nullify hit-outs to advantage. That is all. 2) Jack-weid to continue to develop in tandem. Throw in some Pickett at the feet and a whole lot of defensive forward pressure. Fritsch to capitalise on oppo attention on the above. 3) Recently posted about our first fixture vs. North in 2017 as an example of Salem on the angry pills. Christian needs some fire to play at his best. Please be today and forevermore. 4) The big one. Brayshaw to relish the opportunity in the middle in Viney’s absence exactly as occurred in 2018. Give the coaches something to think about in the coming weeks. 5) Melksham to look like he cares and try a bit (cut and paste from round 3 when I posted the exact same thing in my top ten things I would like to see list. It’s now eight weeks later). 6) A new Kysaiah dance move. Followed by a snap for his third goal and a celebration-sledge that somehow indicates MFC first-round pick 20 going to the Kangas next year. 7) We all know Harmes’ best role is as a tagger (personally I think his best role is just any in which he is given simple brainless instructions). Roos’ midfielder gets on top: send in James. 8) I would like to see Spargo demonstrate why he should continue to be on our list. Not writing him off just yet – but he’s the new Stretch. Not enough weapons to overcome physical deficiencies. 9) Of the other ins. Rivers doing what he does best on the burst off half-back and offensive kicking. Keep developing. Hannan to bring the tackle pressure again, enough to make up for the absence of AVB. 10) Lastly – team-wide intensity for as long as possible. I gave the four-day pass last time and others disagreed. Either way, we should have learned some lessons. Other teams are managing it. 36-point win the pass-mark. Go Dees.7 points
