Today is the traditional date of the transition from the winter sporting season into the summer and a time for reflection on Season 2025. Although it may not have been as successful as Demon fans had hoped, it has nonetheless been a significant season at Demonland.

We concluded the old season with a new coach, new CEO, a new Club Chairman in waiting, and our expectations are elevated in anticipation of a turnaround under Steven King, whose innovative approach is poised to yield substantial improvement and success in 2026. Furthermore, the Casey Demons demonstrated exceptional prowess with a remarkable second-half season surge to the finals, and our Melbourne AFLW team has surpassed the midpoint of their season, securing second place on the ladder.

This is our opportunity to thank all of you our contributors for your participation in this difficult year for the Melbourne Football Club.

In particular, I would like to thank Nasher once again for keeping the site together and to our feature writers, @Whispering_Jack, @The Oracle , @KC from Casey, @Meggs and all of our other contributors for keeping Demonland going throughout season 2025.

Let’s not forget our Demonland Podcast co-commentators @binman and @george_on_the_outer who have kept us so well informed during the season and in parts of off season too (they should be back soon!), not to mention all of our listeners and callers on the podcast who keep the team on their toes.

Also a big thank you to @Whispering_Jack, @Grapeviney and @george_on_the_outer and others on their tireless and often thankless efforts as Moderators.

The team that takes the field under Steven King next year will look very different and hopefully much better than before. We’ll also do our best to make some changes here at Demonland for your enjoyment looking forward to the future.

Bring on 2026 and Go Dees!!!

Thank you to Andy and his wonderful team for running such a great website.

Big ups to all involved behind the scenes on Demonland and also to all the posters, i don't have a lot of Melb supporting pals so enjoy coming here, even if the last little while has been a bit ...

This Is Fine GIF

Well done to the team that keeps this site going. For many its our only play to celebrate, vent or otherwise discuss the club we love.

After all is said and done we are all on the same side!

Many thanks

Thanks all!

Not an easy gig at the best of times, and particularly so given it's not been smooth sailing for a while!

Thanks team, in many ways you Demonlanders are like family…often it’s the crazy uncle we don’t make eye contact with, but family all the same.

An amazing community we have, nice to have such a great bunch to ride the highs and lows with! your hard work to make this possible doesn't go unnoticed!

🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊 ❤️💙 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊🎉🥳

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY!

🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊 ❤️💙 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊🎉🥳

Many thanks for giving the Demon community this vehicle for venting, raging and celebrating. A crucial part of the footy season.

As Designated Chief of Training Reports I’m always grateful for those who actually do the reports. You know who you are and without you this site wouldn’t be as good as the big dogs hoped it would be. 👍

Thanks mods and tech geniuses

Love the site

Go Dees!

All of the above, seconded, thirded and further.

Special acknowledgement of @Demonland's forbearance of the use of their much-cared-for baby as a place for unpleasantness.

Seriously a great forum and place for being a passionate Dees fan...thanks for keeping it going and love the Demonland and also the DeeBrief podcasts throughout the season.

Huge thanks to Andy and the Demonland Team, posters and visitors to the site, love this site, I would be lost without it. I glean so much information from everyone’s input particularly since I dropped out of most media sites over the past couple of years. I really hope that the changes that the club have made will make us a happier, stronger, successful and smoother running organisation in 2026. Cheers.👍😁

Absolutely seconded.

Thankyou.

Love the useful information and good ideas on this site, and thanks to Andy and the team. I deplore the constant critics though, but I guess you have to take the rough with the smooth.

Thanks to all involved in leading and managing this forum, undoubtedly the finest supporter forum in the AFL. Enjoy the cricket season (and the silly season)!

Another year has passed which has been all the better because of Demonland. I have been on here for some time and there have been times when Demonland was the thing that keep me with the Demons. Thank you everyone at Demonland and all the contributors.

PS happy birthday Andy.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
