Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I think we can make judgments about 1st-2nd year players at the club but yeah, nothing this year is going to matter a whit to me until we win a final.

That’s funny, I went to edit my post and say exactly that but then, well truth be known the add break was finishing and I had to get of the toilet….😆😆

Billings was outstanding today and exactly what we’ve been looking for.

His ability to link up plays was elite. It was of little surprise to find out he had something like 11 score involvements. Took 15 marks as well.

He had 20 kicks, he's only ever had more than 20 kicks once. Brilliant game.

If he can have 10-15 kicks a week and spread the way he did today, he'll be an integral player for us.

Thought we played the moments very well. Controlled the game, though they missed some set shots that gave us back the momentum.

The backs structure forced them to the wings where they got lost.

We worked hard for each other, something about being selfless helps get and keep the vibe. Regularly backing up if mistakes made or were beaten.

The first half had us with a functional forward line, marks taken and the Western got confused and guessing about how to play us in the second half.

Quality game that the Western had trouble running out, by the end they were a step behind and had to chase us.

Some great fighting for the ball occurred.

We took our opportunities better then them.

Loved that we were looking for fast ball movement down the corridors.

Still some improvement, fumbley, body work when contesting the mark, tackling without touching the opposition's head.

Well done Dees, a good win.

Again the clubs drafting and trading has been shown to be excellent. Windsor is ready made and exactly what we need.

Same as Billings. Howes and McVee have been developed so well they come in and play well straight away

Again, enjoy the win rather than focusing on negatives.

You gave me your feedback and advice Moonshadow and i responded to it politely.

I heard you.

But with all due respect, I'll post what I want to post.

I'm loving the win. I could not be more thrilled.

And as you well know, having been, like me, a long term poster, whilst I have my faults, failing to be positive is not one of them.

There is a certain level of irony in calling me out for being negative given how often over the last ten years I've been accused of being too positive about the club, blind to our faults and too ready to find 'excuses' (read reasons).

And besides I wasnt being negative about the club. I was calling out the posters who make this forum difficult to engage with after a loss. And go missing after a win.

And I did so in a pretty balanced manner I thought.

I have some advice for you.

Next time we lose, which of course will happen, jump on demonland and call out the usual suspects who pop up to wack the coach, team etc and think it's just grand to run the club into the ground.

Perhaps give them some advice to rein their negativity in and be more positive.

Amazing how hope, faith and expectation return after a win. After pretending to be detached from footy and behaving like a wise and sensible adult trying to get through the Freud series on net flix ) I am reading DL, looking at stats and generally behaving like an excited kid. My Collingwood supporting wife already has head in hands and using profane language to describe my elevated mood. Amazing what an emotional game this is, and how irrational is our loyalty, prejudices and thought process..

Well was glad we didn't let up but gee the dogs were bog ordinary at times, but on to us Billings will be a great pick up if we can keep him on the park, Howes is showing that with patience will be OK, Windsor showed some real talent, Hore was unlucky to be delisted last time and filled the gap with Bowey down.

Don't think Tmac is the answer there see how he goes against better teams, Lever is a dear in headlights when he has to think his way out, same with Tmac, but you can only beat what's in front of you will be interesting to see how they treat the Hawks next week.

I've finished watching the replay now... so we won by 45 points when:

- We were only up by 17 with 12 minutes to go

- Lever had the worst game I've seen him play in the red and blue

- Fritsch was terrible

- Sparrow and Langdon were barely noticed

- JVR hardly got near it for 3/4s

- Petracca was well below his best

That's not great for the dogs. For us, it's good to see that we can find a way to win, but we'll need to be a lot better against the top sides.

I don't know why but I especially love BBB kicking snags and competing, watching him play well makes me very happy.

Accidentally swore in front of the kiddo in the first quarter when I saw TMac down back, but I'll admit it worked and he played well (just a bit slow on the transition kicks tho).

Choo-choo was immense. Wish I'd been at the G when he came off in the 4th. We all love him and it's obvious the coaching group and players do too.

Gawn just went "Yeah, nah" after last week, back to his best.

May harnessing his rage is awesome.

Billings was great as well, let's us move Salem back and give a good kicking option so adds layers to the team. Should have played a full game last week.

Just softly as well, there were plenty of people upset (myself included as well) last week, but I'd politely suggest most of us weren't thinking the season was over, but the selected team was off. The mix was much better today, lots to work on but looked much better.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
