  1. The 5 day break shouldn't be an issue. Stats show that it becomes an issue when you either have a significant difference to the break of your opponent, or when you're having multiple consectuvie short weeks. Carlton will only get 1 extra day rest, and we had long breaks between the past two games, so it's not a factor nor an excuse. It was a fair excuse for the loss to Brisbane. Repeat short turnarounds compounding. After the Carlton game, we have breaks of 9 days, 7 days, 7 days, 8 days and then a bye. After the bye, there aren't many big games that would get scheduled for a Thursday or Friday, so we should avoid many more short turnarounds.
  2. Amazing how Geelong supporters are drinking up the Chris Scott narrative that they were "off" and it's a positive that they still only lost by 10 points. This all conveniently ignores our own terrible kicking at goal. Also doesn't count the number of opportunities we gave up without even taking a shot, like Kozzie turning over instead of having a shot in the 4th quarter. They were lucky we didn't win by 6 goals.
  3. Two questions from me: Jed Adams. How is he developing? We'll need another key defender possily as soon as next year if McDonald retires. AWM. 30 disposals, is that a career high? What would his role in the AFL be? Seems to get a bit of interest with DL posters but i've never even seen him as an emergency for the AFL.
  4. We've got a problem with Billings. If Spargo was fit, that would be the change to make. Otherwise, is it Hunter? Jack needs to go either way. He completely disappears in big games. It's not Laurie. The sub role isn't easy, but others that have come before him in that role - Jordon, Smith, Woewodin - all managed to show way more than Laurie has. I'd be tempted to play Hunter for Billings, with Bowey as the sub. If Bowey is needed to cover injury (other than in defence), Rivers or Woewodin can move up the ground. Hell I'm sure Bowey can play up the ground if needed too.
  5. Surely he finally gets the Rising Star nomination this week.
  6. Gonna change something with the sub. Laurie just doesn't have it, he's not an impact player. 1 touch and no tackles with fresh legs is not what we need with the game on the line.
  7. I apologise for the doom and gloom in the match thread, I just can't help it. Everything about this game pointed to another heartbreaking, self inflicted loss. Thank god it wasn't. Petty the MVP.
  8. Dead set, went from a golden opportunity to put a nail in the coffin, instead we concede a confidence destroying goal. Can't believe this team sometimes.
  9. KOZZIE THAT IS YOUR FAULT FOR [censored] SAKE
  10. I'll microwave my membership if Fritsch misses this
  11. 4 points [censored] away We'll be behind ESSENDON on the ladder
  12. That quarter will come back to haunt us. Should be up by 5 goals. It's not just the set shots, it's the wastefulness anywhere in the forward half. Scott is a better coach than Goodwin, wouldn't be surprised to get jumped by Geelong in the third and we won't have enough firepower to respond.
  13. Plenty of good pubs on Swan Street. If you get there early (5-5.30) you could possibly get a walk in, but they can get busy and crowded which sometimes isn't the most comfortable for eating. Corner Hotel is a classic but probably the busiest of them all. The Posty does good pizzas, but small so it gets crowded. Richmond Social isn't as nice as those two, but has the most room for a comfy bite to eat inside - you should be able to book a table now. London Tavern is another that gets busy but it's great. If you can be bothered to leave a bit earlier, try a pub a few stops away. Prahran Hotel and College Lawn are both minutes walk from Prahran station, which is two stops from Richmond.
  14. I don't love Hunter, but I would be OK to see him in the team. We're too heavy on inexperienced players at the moment. His disposal sucks sometimes, but he is tough and reliably racks up 20 touches. He is what we need the next few weeks.
  15. No No No Poor on field, poor off field.
  16. First game I saw May play was Round 2 2019. We lost by 80 points to Geelong, in Geelong, in the pouring rain. May did his groin and wasn't seen again until Round 12. Fair to say he has come a long way since then. Still not perfect off field, but damn he is a good footballer. If he had been drafted to a club other than Gold Coast, and had the right attitude from a young age, his career might be spoken about amongst the likes of Rance and Scarlett.
  17. Born in WA so you would imagine only a lowball offer would get him to leave. West Coast would be stupid not to give him a great offer, they need good senior players and leadership while they develop. Yeo has been outstanding this year, a good role model for Reid.
  18. We are gonna get smacked the next two weeks.
