Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Swans doing plenty of short chip kicks which is safe but boring.

we are wasting chances like last year and noticeably fell away for five minutes whenp Gawny was off.

viney best, Windsor impressive as is Bowey and Tomlinson but Spargo short of a gallop which is not surprising given he was rushe back into a side that was already the smallest in the league. Go figure.

cooler wind coming through now so slippery skill induced errors may be less in second half.

Fritta gets out muscled at every contest. No body strength at all. So frustrating

He shouldn't have to wrestle in contests though. Better delivery would hit him on the lead.

Too many passengers. 2Q thoughts:

- Thank goodness for Windsor

- Oliver looks undercooked

- Gawn doing well

- ANB, Salem and Howes playing well

- Laurie and Schache having a mare

Fritta is having the biggest mare.

Jvr struggling to get near the pill.

Turn those two posters, Fritta and Spargos easy misses plus Nibblers goal and we are over three goals up.

Same old problems in front of goal.

It's a worry when Fritta starts to miss them.

Expecting to see a big statement this second half.

Salem has been good in the midfield Oliver looks a little underdone. Windsor with great composure to set that Ed goal, need more of that. Looks dewy and greasy out there, Swans been dropping easy marks too. Defence been good given how cleaner they've been.

Disappointed that we debut Billlings as sub, particularly after our media team made a big deal over our three debutants this game. Surely he deserved his spot after the praccies over a couple of others out there.

Should have started instead of Laurrie.

Unless he does something spectacular and really turns it on in the second half again, I don't want to see him play for us again.

Yep. That’s because we decided to bring back Spargo. Size doesn’t matter, says Goody!

poor disposals all night long, poor passing, players not manning up and allowing the swans to switch and run it into their forward line without a melbourne player challenging them. our forward line still just stands there and does nothing. how do we keep doing the same dumb things. hopefully we can lift in the second half, but so far not very impressive start to the season, players have not learnt anything. bring on billings we have quite a few players doing nothing surely he can replace on of those.

Evident that the Swans have worked hard to develop a new game strategy of precise short passing to break through our strengths, intercept defence and contested possession midfield bulls. Swans quick ball movement is moving around our midfield and chopping up our defensive wall. That said we are still in it even with our old game plan that never seems to change. Field kicking is rubbish, goal kicking accuracy is rubbish. Who knows something might click in the second half but really all the innovation seems to be coming from Longmire!

Yep, Fritta is a nimble forward not a contested ball player.

Needs space and freedom to move around and get the footy.

Im unimpressed that the balls have been so slippery. the umpires  can surely dubben them up a bit.

Agree with all you said except there has been no quick ball movement. Just boring short stuff with a couple of panicle dumps.

A bulldogs mate of mine said that Schache can’t create a win, it needs to be given to him by others and that was a frustration with him as a player. Hope he’s wrong.

Think Schache has competed pretty well tonight.

If (big if) we can start holding marks and taking chances when they’re on I’m confident we can win, but jeez we gotta be better.

What is it with the screen size  at the ground effectively reduced by 25% with ads a la Marvel. Even 25% of the large screen with ‘SYDNEY SYDNEY SYDNEY down one side.

Just… they have their beat midfield out and we’re down by 7. We should be up by 4-5 goals. The amount of times I’ve read ‘we should be up by X goals’ the past few years is really wearing thin

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
