Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

It was poor decision making to target Grundy and then not even back him in. You think bringing a player in like that who has such significant cultural impact as he did, almost immediately being "one of the boys" to suddenly being overlooked, doesn't have some sort of impact? Bringing in guys like Jordon when you have even a spark like Woewodin waiting to bring some energy in. Throughout 2022 refusing to play JVR so that in 2023 he is essentially still a rookie and inexperienced.

I also think it's shocking.

We've just demonstrated to any future player we make a pitch to come play for us just how you may get treated.
Good luck with that.

If we don’t win it next year, that could be the window closed and we’ll be surpassed by other clubs.

We need to worry about winning a single final...not about winning it all. On the evidence you've seen, what makes you think there's any chance whatsoever that we could win 3 finals in front of big crowds at the MCG? There's literally no chance with this group, who have proven to be massive chokers.

We're going to need to reload and hope that the next generation that come through have some bottle.

Yep weeks? Been happening all season.

I don't know, maybe I was oblivious but I thought at times he was getting better at rolling players through some weeks.

Last week's decision not to play the extra tall defender after seeing it so successful this year completely lost it for me. I just couldn't believe he botched it that badly and it ended up costing us.

We play Tomlinson tonight and we looked much better defensively structured.

Don't get me started on the whole Tmac thing tonight. I need to cool the jets first on this otherwise I'll explode.

Could be more straight sets, who knows.

If nothing changes for next year and we don't get a good Psychologist... it'll be tough task.

How about petty and jvr in the forward line. It will make a massive difference.

my view was that a lot of things conspired against us in the last weeks of 2022 and 2023. If you would prefer to see us as chokers then fine. We will find out who is right over the coming years.

Yeah it’s up there with Geelong at the Cattery in 2011 and the Bombers at the G in 2013.

FFS Talk about overreacting

I was at both those games. We were terrible in 2013, and something culture shifting happened behind closed doors in 2011.

This is different, but if you can’t understand that I’m not going to argue with you. Enjoy your night.

The issue has been with the third defender and forward selections all year.

They're lasting games tho. Fitness is clearly not an issue. And we've barely been hit by injuries compared to what the Pies have dealth with over the past two seasons.

We don't maintain intensity and focus like we used to over 4 quarters. I'm saying though that the mental side under Burgess was better as well.

It's an observation.

Our strategy, ball use and selections are obviously the big problem to be fixed though going forward.

Goody been getting a touch of the Bevo’s with his selections since the 2021 flag.

I actually think the opposite. He doesn't have the balls to drop his favourites and he doesn't have the balls to select a wildcard (AMW, Woey, Grundy).

Bevo isn't that.

Point proven it sounds like.

What kind of person comes on here gloating after his side loses ? maybe it's not really his team.

This. Genuinely think our window is done for now and it’s the Rivers, Bowey, McVee, Petty, JVR era that will be our next successful one

Max and May only have one more peak year and we are getting rid of our replacement AA ruckman and need to clear out 8-10 of the mid range or we will be going backwards fast.

I am just trying to avoid us becoming a supporter base that find excuses for everything.

As others have noted, many teams have maged to reach PF, GF and even win it all with injury issues.

Club should be ashamed of themselves the way they treated Hibberd, heart & soul player & they played Shcache, the softest sub ever

Our ruck and only key forward (and best goal kicker) were likely to fall apart at any given moment.

Hard to blame them for keeping tall insurance

Totally gutted but not surprised.

Some great patches of play and dominance, with an inability to take our chances … and also a few really questionable decisions and some basic skill deficiencies at key moments.

As an interstate supporter, I really feel for those of us in Melbourne these two years past … to see us okay finals and to see us in straight sets exits two years running.

I’m over footy for a bit I think …

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
