Agreed, Mick has a long commitment to our AFLW team, from day one.  He lives in the country but loves our AFLW team so much that he regularly commutes 2 or so hours each way.  Since our whole AFLW has remained intact, I doubt he'd suddenly go to our AFLM team (even though his expertise would be very welcome).

I get why people are saying this but it would be a disservice to our women!

I agree about the disservice robbing the women's team to straighten out the men.
I love the way our Women's team is going, they are playing wonderful connected, attacking fluid footy.

He could potentially straddle both teams in some capacity. Maybe I'm being naive but in reality, he can still coach the women's team through to a flag this year and then flip to assist the men's team to some extent for next. Team Culture? Game Day strategy and selection?

Ben Brown seems to be much loved and involved with the women's team, he could help with the load more if he's retiring from AFL.

Mick seems to be so good at swinging the changes quicky and responsively during games. I watched Ellie Blackburn dominate for the dogs last week and after trying Heath with a tag, he had Paxman on to her and they managed to nullify her in the second half to run away with it.
The week before, once we had the game in the bag against the giants, he had Tahlia Gillard in the forward line for most of the last quarter just to mix it up and try things out.

I think our boys would be really flat after the finals, their confidence shaken.
If you watch that brilliant little 15 minute doco from last years AFLW flag, they all realised from previous years, they'd actually been trying too hard!
I can see that in the men's team in some ways. I think if you're pushing too hard, you start to play more selfishly rather than with freedom and trust in your team mates. Our men admitted that that was the difference in 2021, playing for each other and trust in each other.
The drama / improv classes was a great idea by Mick too.

After losing Daisy, I'd hate to see Mick walk away for a bigger better challenge at another club. Maybe he's up for working with both teams?
We're one club and we should be leveraging techniques, resources, intitiatives across all 3 teams as much as we can.

I think we're mad if we don't use Stinnear more across the club.

Caroline Wilson reporting Yze has the Richmond job

Great reward! Good luck Yze

Adem Yze has been appointed HC of RFC, been nice having OOZE back in the fold.. as matchday coach it’s gonna be interesting as to whom we get in to replace him! Nathan Buckley sitting in on interview is an interesting sidenote. Meant to reply to current thread  or start new one but I’m sure that’ll get sorted.

Ooze will definitely be missed, but we obviously already had contingencies — Chaplin to matchday role is most likely.

Dew would be my pick.. plus I love the irony of it — some interesting names being bandied about that’s for sure but Chaplin seems like the guy, big hole to fill either way, Could be a good thing to get some new blood but what is everyone else thinking?

I’m still numb TBH, but here’s hoping a left field acquisition into fwd line or coaching ranks can bring us back from the depths of despair!!!

Great career move for him.  Well done Ooze and good luck at the Tiges, except against us!

Thanks for helping to crack our first silverware for some time!

Well done Yze, great gig to get

And we could use a shake up in our coaching department especially in the midfield

Couldn't be more happy for him! he's come so close a few times and deserves this!

Good for him. I hope "the smoker" comes back to us when we need him.

All the best ooze. bout time he got the opportunity.

joined us when there was a lot of pressure on goody, maybe he had one eye on the job! Thanks for your work for that 2021 flag!

Well done Ooze! Plenty of false dawns and garden paths in the journey but you deserve this chance.

Good luck yze hope the Richmond freals  give you time to build a team that had ended a great era.

massive part in our 2021 flag after a mostly disastrous 2020.

We love the OOZEEEE

Quality bloke and has earned his chance

Dee should be a good option for the Dees or

get McQualter as the new assistant coach 🤣🤣

Official. Posted on MFC socials.

Best of luck to Yze! He’ll always be a demon.
Been trying for years to take the next step and now he’s senior coach of one of the biggest clubs in the land. Now we’ll need a new midfield coach. Timing is right for both him and us.

I'm happy for Ooze but not emotionally ready for this picture 😂😭

Agree but at least it's not an Essendon one.

Well done to Adem. He's certainly done his apprenticeship

At least his Twitter handle is still @ooze21.

Is this unchangeable Tweeters?

Excellent appointment by the Tigers.  Wish him nothing but the best. A great servant of the Demons.

  • Grapeviney changed the title to Yze gets the Tigers Coaching Job

Great news for him and well deserved. He’s served a long apprenticeship under some great coaches and has been involved in multiple flags. Wishing him all the very best!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
