Just not true. His first disposal was a score assist (handpass to Melksham in left forward pocket) that resulted in a minor score, literally our first point of the day.

Second highlight also wrong as it implies he hit no target prior to the last quarter when, in fact, he passed cleverly under pressure to Melksham just before half time for a goal assist.

Since you rarely pot our players why would you do so relying on BS?

I missed the first handball. The other possessions in the first were ordinary. The second point is me writing badly, he did some better things after quarter time it should say. I don’t think he’ll be in the team next week, I didn’t enjoy his performance. Thanks for the corrections.

What happened to mccreary? Media has been awfully quiet on the matter.

Was given one week. Reported on AFL site on Saturday so I assume it's just passed out of the news cycle.

Fritta doesn't like the wet his hair gets out of shape...

No way does Bailey's hair change shape at anytime, regardless of weather.

Probably doesn't even get pillow hair in the morning.

and good luck to him I say.

BT reckons its to do with product.  He loves it.

Lots to mull over but I'm expecting some surprises from the MFC in the finals, not so much with selection, but with player's roles switching and a specific game plan with the filth in particular.

I'm curious as to why you think this? It seems to me that apart from making use of Brayshaw's and Smith's versatility when necessary, the one thing that Goodwin seems intent on is that we have players with very fixed roles. Do you envisage any specific changes?

With regards to the mooted medium sized forward line it should be noted Smith can often play tall and that Fritsch can take a high mark on occasions

JVR is a tall and as each week goes by his physicality is coming to the fore

And Petracca can therefore become the wild-card forward much like how Dusty Martin was used

If we take Petracca out of the forward line more often, the flow on effect is what do we do with Brayshaw as someone ends up  getting squeezed out of the centre bounces? (and that can't be Viney or Oliver)

And then there's Kozzie Pickett as the other wild-card forward (or at some of the centre bounces)

So, despite the loss of Petty, our forward line is looking dangerous (with the return of Fritsch) and with the goal kicking capabilities of Melksham

It's almost like we've got one extra but that's for the MC to sort out

We really need Fritta back this week so he can get some touch before finals.

The chances of Fritta getting the 'right amount' of touch with Casey are minimal, I'd reckon. He does need to get into the bigtime asap, display his wares and frigging confuse the hell outta the Swans. We actually have a multi-pronged attack now and he is a vital part of that separation we are all looking for, reviving his kicking for goal practices and honing his skills for the finals. Fully agree, smurf; important call.

We will have the advantage of knowing all possible scenarios before our game kicks off. We could face any one of the three teams above us if there are surprise results. We could even get to play the Pies in Melbourne.

The Pies on the MCG for my preference...

Oddly enough I have been impressed with melk he is playing a different role which has taken the pressure of JVR, still a problem with kossie jumping into the packs they should show him clips of Greene of GWS knows when to fly and stay down, wish he would go no further than the arc which would allow him to run into an open forward line.

Really looking forward to this game. I'm nervous and a pessimist before most games, but Top 4 is now locked in. We've got a ticket in the raffle. We're set. The last time I was this relaxed about a game was probably Round 23 2018 when we had sewn up finals and obliterated GWS on the MCG.

Fritsch will be a certain starter if fit. Goody doesn't believe in VFL for the top tier talent. TMac could be a chance too, but maybe bringing them BOTH back is a bridge too far. So just Fritsch for Laurie is my guess.

Best case scenario (of the realistic options) is that all Top 4 teams win and we get Collingwood at the G.

There are numerous ways we could use Kozzie ... on the ball occasionally and as a player who can deliver inside 50 are 2 examples

As a small forward only, a player can go cold and get lost ... so we need to get him warmed up and into the play like we did against the Crows

He is not a midfielder as he has no tank to play that position he is a burst player he's more lethal when he has space but I take your point.

The occasional run on the ball doesn't equal being a midfielder (certainly not in totality)

He was dynamic against the Crows

Except he does. That’s his GameDay hair. His hair sans-product is very different and he’s not so easily recognisable. I watched his brother play for Coldstream a few weeks ago and didn’t realise it was Bayley sitting in the back of a ute only 20 feet away.

Last year Pauline asked him if he’d ever think of changing his ‘do. He said, “I can’t mum, it’s my signature look.” 😂

Shame about the predicted bad weather on Sunday.

I'm heading to Sydney to spend some time with my younger daughter who lives there ... and of course to attend the match!!

Is there a pre-match function for Demons?

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
