Umpiring was a disgrace, two different sets of rules out there

Tough game. God damn. Glad that wasn't a sudden death final.

Onwards and upwards

Whoever was on ugle Hagen should be dropped for lever. How embarrassing.

Missed goals hurt us again and again players went missing.

My god that's a massive loss for us and our ladder position.

Two different sets of rules in the second half.

The most pathetic umpiring display recorded  for fu*king ever.

So Brisbane and Geelong both get challenged and manage to win.

Melbourne lead for most of the game and then chuck it. Give it up. We’re not doing anything this year but making up the numbers.

22 to 13 TKO

Tomlinson mostly played on him and was given a footy lesson.

Our defensive game missing. bulldogs stretched us wide with uncontested possession. We played really tired. Too easy for them to transition out of defensive 50 but not for us and zero forward 50 tackles to their 9.

Agree 100% - especially the final 5 minutes.

Was Weed on the ground after half  quarter time?

Alarm bells should’ve been ringing for the coaches at half time. We cannot win a shoot out. We are a defensive team that controls games. When teams are able to get a look, we’re powerless to stop them. We’ve lost our aura and teams lick their lips coming up against us.

Our elite fitness of last year has deserted us. We’re being overrun repeatedly now.

Our midfield needs recalibration to become more defensive. On form, we can’t win the flag, and time is running out to recalibrate and find winning form.

Gee whizz lose next week and we are out of the top 4.

this is so gross

dogs brilliant after half time. dont think we played badly, possibly went into our shell in the last.

Mentally soft.

What do you expect when your captains puts in one of the most insipid performance.

Gawn, Jackson, Harmes and Spargo were all absolutely embarrassing. Besides Gawn, you could easily mount a case for all 3 being dropped.

We're not top 4 standard team at the moment and have said this since the Geelong loss. We have far too many concerns with our game being so bloody predictable.

So [censored] angry..

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
