Petracca, Smith, Langdon.

Nowhere to be seen.

Petracca in particular has been a shadow of his former self the past three weeks, or even more.

But our forward line is a joke at the moment. A joke.

Yeah nah it's the loading bruz..

Lol what a crock of [censored]

We are shot and our season is cooked.

6.14 to 23.9 for opposition. WTF is going on after half time?

Still need to win 3 games to play finals.

Not looking good from here…..

I forgot what it's like to watch a team struggle. Didn't miss it. Going to have a drink.

Not much to take from tonight other than we made a hero of mihochek and Cox, and every other team in the league will now fancy themselves against us, and I don't blame them. We're very poor right now and there's not a hell of a lot of time to work it out.

Ugh.

The concern is that we have seen the exact same thing three weeks in a row. It's all been said before and yet nothing has changed from week to week.

Top 4 is looking incredibly unlikely if this continues let alone even making the eight.

If you have no avenue to goal, and cant convert when u do get a look, you can't kick enough to win the game, its a pretty simple equation.

I know the players care but they just don't have the fight and intensity that they did last year. The last three weeks, our opposition has wanted it a whole lot more than we have.

I feel like if we were going to fix our issues, it would have happened by now.

Amongst all that, they're battling it out - but injuries knocking us round, both in available players and on game day.

But, issue remains the forward line. You're not going to win matches kicking 8 and 9 goals. Not even sure what the answer is, especially with McDonald out for the season (effectively).

The fitness levels of the players this year is pathetic.

Burgess would be disgusted by this. Put in all the work last year & as soon as he leaves they take their foot off the gas because of the now inflated ego they posses after winning a premiership.

Hopefully this humbles them all & they wake up.

Everything about that game was predictable. Only this time we gave up a 20 point lead instead of the standard 25-30 point lead.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.

This has been coming ever since we struggled in large parts against North and West Coast.

We don’t apply pressure and we can’t/don’t want to tackle anymore.

No May and No TMac takes a lot out of this side

Big couple of weeks for the coaches to reset this team.
All is not lost. But lots of late nights ahead planning

How did this team win a flag!?! Honestly, a bunch of one way runners when the game is on the line.

Don't worry, Ive already filed a missing persons report for Mitch Brown.

Mitch brown never to play again. Just leave weiderman in.

Too beaten and bruised in that final quarter, and to their credit, Collingwood's ball use cut us to shreds.

Going to be a long two weeks.

It's very unusual for me to show negativity on this site but our form has been extremely worrying lately. We seriously need to get out of the habit of capitulating after being 20+ points up but our forwardline is a total mess atm. We simply don't look like scoring.

Something's not right. The bye has come at the perfect time.

May out hurt but that last quarter was predictable. There is enough talent so can only conclude it mindset

Smith may as well not been on the ground.  Didn't get a single touch.

Look at who we play after the bye, I’m confident if one win. The crows.

Lets get Goodwin back punting and on the beers, our clearance work is shot.
Harmes, Sparrow and Nibbler fumble more than baby with a bar of soap.

We can’t handle the pressure, we play slow long dumb football.
Can’t run out games, it’s like we are unfit. We sit off teams and watch them waltz it through our structure (and that never changes, so we are cooked there)

Hope no one got back to back tattoos…

The rolling zone is a steaming pile of dung at the moment.

We have no ability to close down space and shut a team down, even for 10 minutes of a quarter to wrestle the game back on out terms.

Forward craft, play, lack of leads, lack of crumbing, kicking to the same spot far too often.... shizen houzen.

Clarry's one extra handball or two through the middle instead of a quick kick inside 50 is killing this team.  Teams have worked out the bang bang bang bringing someone off the square.  You have to go over and inside 50 with the quick kick.

A stack of work to do from here to get this slightly deerailed train back on track

Our back-line is all at see. Our midfield is continually getting out worked. And our forward-line is not even VFL standard.

All this in the space of 15 days. Hello darkness my old friend.

Gawn, Turner, Petty all shot which gives an alibi.  Jackson shouldn't escape criticism for his poor effort when asked to step up.  Tracc really struggling.  Two weeks to get it right.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
