Some here say it was confirmed they were positive,  I only heard HS Protocols which at the time was for household contacts in Vic but notnsure AFL standards

i think also the definition of a close contact is now less stringent

Club operates re AFL ‘health and Safety’ protocols, not one state’s rules.  Assume these still have close contact iso provisions to meet the toughest standard (WA).  Don’t know if people are testing positive or just ‘close contacts’ under their rules?

Did people notice the players greeting and touching fans after the match on ANZAC eve?  Wonder if this was the source of infection?

I wonder if Yze will coach from the boundary

If he does, that will clearly give Mitchell the edge! Never worked for Goody.

Unfortunate for those affected but hawks on a 5 day break and starting to show signs of fatigue because of Mitchell’s gung ho game plan. We’ll win regardless

We will still win imo as we have other players who can come in and play their role within the structure.

Go Dees.

Yze said today he would coach from the box. Choco may be the man in the boundary role this week rather up the front than back

  • Demonland changed the title to Goodwin, Jackson, Pickett & Sparrow All Out with COVID

Not sure how bad the covid cases are but MFCSS has sure claimed a few.

Not sure you can automatically assume Lever and Viney will be back if they tested positive and were/are sick.

Not sure about Lever but Viney is so tough he is currently running through brick walls and apparently gave Covid-19 a bad case of the Viney-22.

Covid is out indefinitely

Viney for Sparrow, Bedford/Melksham for Pickett. Dogga out sure hurts, as he gives Max a massive chop out.

Hopefully no more out, but yesterday it was Goodwin, today is another 3, tomorrow? The whole round needs to be delayed so we can get our players back 😋

Idk about last week, but post-match vs. GWS Maxy walked around the boundary touching as many hands as poss. And I know coz my hand was one of ‘em. 😁

And I only had to elbow about 10 kids’ heads outta my way on the path to Maxy’s hand. 🙃

There is a doco about the black death on the history channel tonite.

Shows the importance of banking early wins and nailing close games.

Given how we handled the last two years in the hub and 2021 I feel we have been very mature about rolling with the punches and just getting the job done

OK   lose three,  gain two back. Only really down one senior player. Just allows the FD to have flexibility in selection.

it is a pity but it is also a pity I did not win lotto last weekend.    We have the depth.

We should still have more than enough quality to win this one, the Hawks are not at full strength either

It is what it is people. As long as it's just these 3 and no more pop up I'm confident we can cover them. Dogga was average last week and a game off will get him ripe for Saints. Kozzie didn't do that much but we will miss his one percenters. Sparrow been playing well but Viney covers him.

Lever, Viney and a small to come in. Weid to assist in ruck. Simple and enough to give the Hawks a hiding.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
