There is a rumour that Petracca is carrying an injury   any news??

Of course he is - every player is at this stage of the season. No indication that there is anything worrying though.

Tmac timeframe is 2-3 weeks.. surely he wont be ready for first final?

First final around 18 days away. Should be right for our second final. His touch won’t be there yet so he’ll fit in well up fwd

Whoever has been producing these training reports recently needs to find another job. The idea of background music during an interview is bizarre. I think I heard The Deliverance at one stage, so I took that to mean that we're up sh#t creek without a paddle.

McDonald is set to play VFL during the AFL's pre-finals bye, which could open the window for him to feature in the first week of senior finals.

“As we sit here now, based on the way he (McDonald) is tracking, he’ll play next week,” Richardson confirmed.

“We’re hopeful given the training he’s been doing, we’d be looking at him playing significant minutes next week.”

There used to be rules about who can play finals in VFL if you hadnt played during Home and Away.

Anyone know if this is still an issue for Tom?

That's a really great result by the fitness and conditioning team

Agreed.

Fat chance Salem and Jackson aren't fit for finals in a week and a half with those minor injuries.

Brilliant to have another full list available heading into finals.

It would be literally (actually) incredible (unbelievable) were Tommy to get back and have an influence finals  after so much time out: but if anyone has the physical and mental application to give it a red hot go it would be him.

You reckon?

I don't doubt his intent and I am a fan for the last 4 years but I think he's mentally a little fragile.

It's written across his face .When he's up and about he looks like a different player.

Walking off after a game where things have gone wrong he's flat and expressionless

As long as the AFL team is still playing there are no restrictions on who may play in the VFL

Not certain that’s the case when your AFL side isn’t playing on the weekend. I think the club has to get the okay from the VFL in the case of a player like Tom. It should be automatic because he’s returning from injury.

Probably better than skipping and joking. Maybe he’s serious about results.

Not how I observe hIm  relative to others in the team...

But youre welcome to disagree with me

It stands to reason that the clubs with the more experienced lists will also rank higher in the above list but we are definitely travelling okay at the moment as far as injuries are concerned.

I’m nervous writing it, but this is the kind of injury list (or lack thereof) that should win another premiership.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
