Wish we had been able to keep Jetts at the club but happy that he has landed a job.

You can't keep all your favourite sons and in reality it's better for them to get out and experience other clubs.

Great news for Nev, times are tough out there and these jobs are limited with the soft cap squeeze.

Best of luck to Nev.

Sad he’s no longer with us, but he’s a great person and leader of young people, primed to become a great development coach.

Good on him, I think it’s a good thing for players to go a different system and do things differently. He’ll  always be welcome back.

Congratulations Nev. Gave his all to us on-field, and to indigenous youth off-field. Good luck at the Pies.

Good on him for moving on to different pastures after so long at one club.

Wish it could've been another club though, but I expect Collingwood to go places over the coming year or two.

The pies were under pressure to bring a well credentialed and well respected indigenous player into the club .They certainly hit the mark .

Oh No he has gone to the dark side.

Well, he has gone to where he is MOST needed.

I hate this so much, but I’m also so happy for him. A big asset for Collingwood. Go well Nev!

Writing was on the wall with the pies, I am sure he will do wonders there. Hopefully a short sabbatical like Yze had!

He was going to be picked up somewhere, he has so much to offer, and not only to indigenous players.

But did it have to be THERE!?!? If, during a Dees v Pies game next year, the camera shows him wearing black and white, I will fair dinkum vomit.

That would make him the first person I ever admired at the Filth. Congrats Nev, you’ll always be welcome at the Dee’s.

Like others here i wish him all the best. fantastic player who gave us great service on and off the field.

Im also upset his leaving. we’re losing some key pieces burgo etc. Wish the club had been able or tried a bit harder to keep him around!

And Nev will be playing in their VFL side.  A very good hire from them.  All the best Nev, always a Demon.

Well done all round. Pies needed someone of Nev’s character, and it is great for Nev to work in a different system to expand his post football experience.  I think they tries to get him last year?

100% they need credibility in this space and to build and inclusive culture for non Anglo staff/players. They choose well

Bittersweet

Delighted he has found a role. Couldn’t be happier for him

Would prefer if it wasn’t with Collingwood

ok he’s going to be a “development coach” at the filthy feral magpies … yes with their prior racist conduct

I know he has to earn a living and pursue his ambitions

but we still love you Nev 💙❤️

Huge asset lost. His work with our young indigenous players was immense. Are we going to fill that role? I was completely ok with it, until I read he was playing in their VFL side, that makes me sick.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
