Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The AFL and AFL media keep using the WCE/FREO derby as a case of stating how good crowds are. Hate to break the news but the atmosphere wont be anything like that with two interstate teams. Just let Melb play at the MCG.

I think the dreamtime game is a better model. Two interstate clubs and the atmosphere and crowd was very strong.

I reckon it will be similar to the Dreamtime game with Bombers v Tigers which was amazing

The Crows didnt complain when they finished higher and played Richmond at the G in a GF.

Given the current circumstances I dont see what the problem is.

Very different though as the GF is locked in at the MCG contractually and clubs know what the roadmap is etc vs Covid mess, bottom line is if your good enough you will beat anyone anywhere, but still Port have got a better deal coming 2nd!

How did you do it? I'm currently battling Ticketek, but without much success. (I live in Adelaide, lucky me!) It doesn't seem to want to let me book tickets, even though I'm putting in the right barcode numbers. Are we supposed to select General Admission, which seems to be restricted to just a couple of small bays? Or do we select the other option, Home/Club 1 members? I would have thought that since this is not a Crows/Port match, the usual "keep the other bastards out" rules wouldn't apply. Anyone been through the exercise successfully?

I selected the home/club member 1, and the selected the C1 member adult, and then for my non-member family members selected generic adult tickets.  Took me a few goes.

I have no idea if I did it correctly, but the sent me an email confirming 3 seats so hopefully it’s all good.

That ticket system is a shambles.

Not only have we won this stat by a mile, we also played the most amount of games against the top 8 sides along with GWS.

Gotta wonder how that happened considering we didn't even make the 8 last year!

I'll informed comment

The Top 8 this year is completely unknown when the fixture comes out and was not decided till yesterday.  Unless the same Top8 occurred the following year any comparison is not able to be judged as "fair".

Just think about it!!!

Feeling blessed to be able to be there on Saturday night with my Wife, and 2 fanatical kids 🙏

Ticketek is a tough site to navigate when it comes to AFL games but managed to get some amazing seats in the Eastern stand!

We will make as much noise as possible for those who cannot be there 😢

I understand how this works. I just find it funny that teams that were deeply embedded in the 8 last year, like Brisbane, have had such a soft draw in the second half of the year. I know that teams come and go in the 8, so it's hard to predict, but still.

Geelong with a dream run at GMHBA leading into finals, while we travelled the world the last month.

Really starting to hit home that we can't attend the finals.  I knew it to be the case but reality has set in.  And not being able to watch it with mates at the pub just makes it that much worse.  Hopefully there is a chance pubs will be open for the GF if we make it

I eventually figured it out, also after a few goes, and now have two member tickets. But I agree that it's not very user friendly, and when you're trying to figure it out with a timer counting down, it can become a little challenging. If we don't win, it's going to be an expensive disappointment. But of course we will win, and should! If for no other reason so that I can politely shove it up my Qld-based Lions-supporting rellies. I've only ever, after 60-odd (mostly just odd) years of supporting Dees, seen two live Dees finals - one against the Roos in 2002, and Geelong 2018. Both times we were winners, so hopefully the spaced-out trend continues.

For me not even being able to watch it with my Dad is breaking my heart.

It makes it a little bit hollow if I am being honest.

Enjoy enjoy enjoy, it’s such an awesome ground to watch footy at. Here is hoping there is a half decent crowd to enjoy what should be a cracking game of footy and you get to belt out the song with gusto!

The dred/sadness has been building for the last few weeks for me knowing the Melb based of us won’t be able to go to any finals, it’ll be amazing if we can win a flag/shattering to not see them in the flesh. I just hope we can have some semblance of getting out with family and friends to enjoy some of it with.

With such a hectic finish to the home and away and there are not many privileges for a top of ladder.

How did the Dogs get an 8 day break going into the finals?

Similar to me, family & I have gone religiously the last 20 years. I suspect a lot of others are the same however I am just embracing it for what it is.

Who knows how this season would have turned out in a unaffected covid season, we may well not be in the position we fund ourselves. It all plays its part. I am sure the whole football club never imagined that they'd be playing big "home" finals interstate but if the players can get up for it week in week out to try & deliver us a premiership, the least I/we can do is cheer on & enjoy it from from lounge room!

It was a bit confusing on the first read but basically Brisbane is the only team not to have played another Final 8 team in the last 8 rounds of this year.

That’s a very interesting stat! Is their form and confidence just on beating cellar dwellers, whereas in our final 8 rounds we’ve played Geelong, Bulldogs, Port and GWS (Bombers in R9).

Loving these stories of people getting tickets. I think there will be the full 15k and most will be demons (or demon aligned) - what a surreal atmosphere that would be.

Ironic that it will be similar to the Lions game earlier in the year...

Sounds like Lions will be at full strength minus Hipwood and Ryner.
Andrews and that god awful [censored] Robinson back for the Lions 🤮

Robinson doesn’t worry me, but Andrews is a very good player and someone who has a lot of mongrel about him. He blanketed Weideman last time. We need our forward line absolutely firing to beat them on Saturday night.

The Lions have a very strong midfield. If they get on top early it can hard to break them down. We need to fly out the gate and get on top early. They will come back but we should be able to control the game if sufficiently in front

im pumped!!

I signed on 5 mins before it opened at 2pm and it took 5 mins for a slot to open up it took me to the ground seating plan and i selected the area to sit in.

The key to it is to not refresh the page because if you do it sends you back to end of the cue.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
