Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

Brisbane's last 8 games

rd 16 Beat adelaide 52pts

rd 17 lost to St K 32 points

rd 18 Lost to Rich 20pts

rd 19 beat Gold Coast 49pts

rd 20 Lost to Hawks 12pts

rd 21 Beat Freo 64pts

rd 22 Beat Pies 85 pts

rd 23 Beat West Coast 38 pts

They've beaten up a few sides, had 3 losses and played no one in the 8

Not a scary proposition.

The fact they are the highest scoring side in the league worries me by itself. I honestly feel this could be our toughest game of the finals series. I’d honestly love for us to win all 3 games by 50+ points but I somehow think it won’t come that easy to us.

It's not just the AFL who want us on prime time. We want to be on prime time. After all the hard work we've done to make ourselves relevant, you want us to be off broadway.

Thanks for taking the time to discuss.

I think prime time is more relevant in the home and away series.

Finals however, all the games are interesting at whatever time.

I still advocate for Sunday.

We seem to play better with some adversity. So I am not overly concerned, more disappointed that we don't have any advantages from finishing top.

Hoping we can jig and fine-tune our game for a finals series.

May and Lever to dominate and lead our backline in an extremely stingy display and to rebound everything.

I just want to make a quick comment that I love the talk of season 2 starting now. It’s almost like the club has internally separated the two achievements of H&A vs the finals series, it acknowledges that’s it’s a new ball game now and the success that we’ve had this year could all be for nothing if we don’t give everything we’ve got now.

I think I heard on 360 AFL fox show, that we have a different quarantine regiment to that of Brisbane.

We get locked in when we arrive and are in isolation already. The same as Geelong.

Did not hear them talk about any restrictions on the Lions.

There is an uneven playing field that favours the opposition.

Jesus settle down.

Maybe take into consideration that we are flying in from a state where it's on high alert due to growing covid cases.

Probably different set of state rules when flying in from Victoria compared to QLD.

As Goodwin said, we've been doing it all year with zero issues.

Why settle down @dazzledavey36?  I can give my opinion without statements that are derogatorive. But, if that is your way, then good luck to you.

Just mentioning why I think MCG would have been a better venue for us.

So the Lions can have a normal build up and we sit at home talking about the game on zoom, then being let out for a run and back into isolation, and when in Adelaide we are locked in for 24 hrs .

Are the Lions locked in as well?

There is also a good chance we are on the road to Perth after SA and therefore away from home for the entire finals series.

Makes sense to me that we should have stayed in Melbourne for as long as we could.

This team would zoom from a tin can on the moon if it meant a shot at a prelim. And then...

The highest scoring side of the year (Dees vs highest) vs the stingiest defence (Lions 5th stingiest), this really does have the potential to be a blockbuster.

Daniher is so hard to predict, he’s like my almost 6yr old. 80% just all over the place doing things that make you think “wtf is he doing hahah ok whatever you’ll get it together some day” and 20% wow he’s a genius.

I am 100% with you on this Kev. We have gained absolutely no advantage by finishing on top. This game, and possibly the prelim, should have been at the MCG, crowds or not. Correct me if I am wrong, the capacity on Saturday night is 15,000? I doubt whether there will be 10,000 there. You can still get tickets 6 rows from the fence as I type. And the majority of the crowd will most likely be Brisbane supporters because people from Qld can still travel there! Good on the MFC for not rocking the boat on this, but we will rue this AFL decision.

Kozzie has finals performer written all over him.

And to add to that he will be playing at home,in front of friends and family.

And just like he did against Port he give them a show.

We were the highest scoring team in 2018 (from memory). In finals it’s much more important to be defensively strong. The lions have had an easy run whereas we’ve had some close games to ready us for finals. This should get ya over the line.   Also Daniher has improved a lot. Much more consistent and more accurate. Played a lot better since Hipwood went down also. He’s our biggest concern from their fwd line imo

Agreed CB. 6th has won 15 games... That doesn't happen often. 2016 and 2012 are the only times I believe (i checked back to 1964 - FMD if I am going further).

Plus GWS are full of good players and Essendon are full of themselves.

That's mean but they are full of belief.

Will be a ripper series and I just hope we show ourselves for 3 games and continue to trust ourselves, our teammates and the gameplan. We will win if we do that.

Whilst 6th has won 15 games, 7th only won 11 and with a percentage under 100%.

It's funny that despite 7th and 8th having relatively terrible records to make finals, it's still feels like a very even first week of finals.

Most of their big scores were either at the Gabba or against weak sides.

6 of their 7 losses this year were away from the Gabba.

They're still dangerous of course, but I think much of their prowess comes from having had a very easy fixture (no top 8 opponents in the last two months), and they only left Queensland five times since ANZAC Day.

Yes but they haven't played any top sides. Its misleading. They were a high scoring side when they played us and we held them to 75  points - wth accurate kcking of 11g 9b

We hit the post 4 times that game as well which would likely have changed the result significantly had normal statistical results occurred.

So yes they can sore heavily from multiple avenues but there is a caveat.

Looking at all finals odds theres not much bw them all.

Dogs the strongest but not by much.

Been a tough close season.

Port faves too which is interesting.

Glad we are not playing them despite our last encounter.

How did you do it? I'm currently battling Ticketek, but without much success. (I live in Adelaide, lucky me!) It doesn't seem to want to let me book tickets, even though I'm putting in the right barcode numbers. Are we supposed to select General Admission, which seems to be restricted to just a couple of small bays? Or do we select the other option, Home/Club 1 members? I would have thought that since this is not a Crows/Port match, the usual "keep the other bastards out" rules wouldn't apply. Anyone been through the exercise successfully?

I just wish Tecketek were out of the scene. Always had problems with them, no matter what the attraction that we wished to attend. interestingly, with football, Ticketek are very pricey. Ticket-vending is not a difficult task to perform - but so often with this company the pendulum of good fortune jambs and they become unco-operative and twice removed from what you might want to purchase, in one way or another. I would love to see ticketing/game entry back in the hands of the Club, whose services were quick, desirable, value for members, assured and on-time.

The only tickets worth buying here in Adelaide for the Dees' game against Fitz-Briz start at $96 (each) with no mention of MFC membership claims - no an ability to cite your MFC membership details. It became such a brick wall dealing with $Techa-Tic-Toc that we both gave up trying and have resigned  to watch the TV telecast instead - at least $192 will go to a good cause at the bottle shop because it will be a champagne event no matter which side of the sore cheek you sit upon. Carna Dees!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
