2 years. I like Hunt, so I'm happy with this.

I also like Hunt and share your positivity.

Music to my ears.

Great News

Go Hunty!!

Hopefully we can settle him in to that half forward/ forward pocket role. Has genuine pace and great goal sense.

His disposal is still lacking with the way he drops the ball but at 25 you would hope he can make it servicible. Certainly less of an issue being a forward.

Makes sense to sign him on with Hannan leaving. Plays a very similar role as a pressure forward to can lead up and mark.

Small forward stocks are still solid with  Spargo, Hunt, Kozzy, Bedford, ANB (tbc)

Don't love it, don't hate it. I expect 2 years is because there was enough interest elsewhere.

Isaac Smith doesn't come to us. Nick Hind rumoured to be off to Essendon.

Hmmmm.

A 2nd Burgo preseason and full time wing? Or a new forwards coach who can really teach forward pressure?

Is there going to be something that really finds him a spot?

Happy with Hunt signing, wanted him to sign more than some of the others that have been announced.

Onya Jayden!

I'm OK with this, without being over the moon (but certainly not upset by it).

A bit surprised it's a two-year deal, but if we get consistent performances closer to his late-season form then there's a future for him in our forward half.

I have always like him, never sure about where his ability really is.

  • Demonland changed the title to Hunt Re-Signs for 2 years

IF             2021 is finally the season Jayden Hunt breaks out as a forward with 30+ goals

THEN      he will help form a lethal Demon attack alongside Ben Brown, Sam Weideman, Luke Jackson, Kysaiah Pickett and Bayley Fritsch that could see the Demons end their Premiership drought.

I am happy with this.

Would like to see Jayden Hunt utilize his pace more in 2021 and hopefully cement a spot in the side on a regular basis. He needs to get fitter over the pre-season and work on making sure he has more impact in games. He can kick goals but he needs to build up his possession numbers too. Hopefully Adem Yze can work on improving his field kicking too. I think Jayden should mainly play as a wingman or as a half forward.

Love Hunty it a great signing for 2 years has a lot to offer. I find that he is  very underrated. I would love to see him play on the half back flank he would break the lines Pace to burn .  Well done l am happy for him and happy he signed.

Good to hear. If only now his field kicking becomes as good as his goal kicking and get more of the ball.

Well done Dee's, I really Like Jayden Hunt and a two year deal provides him with the opportunity to show us all just how good he can be. I like what the Dee's are doing it is surely lowering my anxiety levels a hell of a lot. Just need to get Jordan signed up and get a 4 year extension in front of Clayton  The icing on the cake will be bringing in big Ben Brown. I can live with any other changes as long as they are managed in a  win-win manner.

Thanks Jayden.................!!!!

Wow!

This one surprises me a bit.....I am glad though & I just hope that after only 6 games this year, that Goodwin actually plays him & plays him off the HB line where he can use his talent.

Good luck Jayden

I'm normally one to be pretty pumped when players re-sign... but I'm not sold on this one.

I just don't see where he fits in our side.  When he plays forward he hits the scoreboard every now and then, but doesn't get enough of it and doesn't put on nearly enough pressure for a bloke with his pace.  He doesn't do much on a wing and there isn't space for him on half back.

I'm hoping he proves me wrong over these next two years but I can't get excited about this one.  Just don't rate him as a player.

Edit - want to add that I mean the above respectfully.  I don't want to be the type to be down on our players and such but this one just isn't doing it for me.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
