Always said you were a great guy, ask anyone! 😀

You are very perceptive.

May have been raised elsewhere, but we were back training at Junction Oval yesterday as guests of Cricket Victoria.

Goes without saying, but less than ideal preparation for a finals series hopping around city venues. Nothing has changed since the old Junction days...

Last WWC game in Melbourne was last night so we should be back to 2 venues now at least.

Maybe just a change of scenery to freshen the boredom.

Last game at AAMI Park/Melbourne Rectangular Stadium was last night and Storm are playing there this Sunday.

Imagine no team would base themselves here for training given no more games in Melb,  should be right to use Gosch's Paddock and any internal facilities.

The girls also had photo day yesterday at Casey so boys may have moved for the day to allow this to happen.

Nibs and JV also spoke to the Vic players on leadership so one may have worked around the other??

Today could be the day.

Good mail redleg, I’ve had confirmed that we are “being considered as a tenant” but nothing official. This coming from an existing tenant.

Long time coming.

I may be singing the praises of Pert & Roffey once it lands.

Is @Redleg suggesting that we are going to have an announcement today?

I would happily give some hundred bucks if this materialises.

That’s quite detailed Hawk… and obviously exciting. Is the source decent?

Just out of interest is the $15m required from us in line with what other clubs have tipped in for their developments?

Edited by Demons11

Significant news. it really is incredible to think back to 2012 when the club was in legitimate trouble and think just 11 years later we'd be around the 70k member mark, had won a flag, look a big chance to win another, on the verge of securing a facility upgrade. all the wonderful people involved have done a remarkable job.

Not only is the Foundation Heroes event on today, but also the Ron Barassi Wills and Bequest event. This is for people to include the MFC in their Wills and Bequests

Ties in with money being sought for new facilities.

Remember we have a lot in the bank already from the sale of Bentleigh land and Oakleigh lease of pokies facilities.

However, we would be talking a lot more money and will need plenty from other sources, private, government, AFL etc.

Hopefully my info was correct and Caulfield Racecourse is about to be announced as our new home base.

Go Dees.

The available figures are very rubbery

Essendon's facility at Tullamarine is quoted at $21M whereas Hawthorn's new facility at Dingley is quoted at $100M.

$15M sounds reasonable compared to the Hawks contribution at perhaps $30M

Jimmy S wiped out $5M of debt so hopefully over time we can find $15M

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
