So we want to believe the dlickheads called unpires who can't even interpret most rules correctly are the be all and end all judges of who wins a football match.

Hence, Grundy AWOL, Gawn AWOL, Oliver AWOL.

I wrest my cases.

If the count continues this way it’s going to be very interesting listening and reading the media tomorrow. Both Gawn and Grundy had amazing years and both deserve to be near the top.

Complete farce. Only one player in the top 10 that isn't a midfielder and it's bloody Franklin!

Becoming incredibly clear the umpires aren't fit to award points for this award any more. There needs to be a better way, either with coaches or an esteemed voting panel that can adequately adjudicate these things without the midfielder bias.

Maybe next year Demonland should do its own 3 2 and 1votes and send it to AFL.

Keep the coaches votes secret, find a popular ex coach to name it after (not Sheedy), hype it up in the media and let it take over from the Brownlow.

Might be the only one, but I'm happy for the umpires to be clueless about who played well in any particular game. They are there only to adjudicate the game and are too often clueless about that. I wish they went back to the days when umpires weren't 'personalities' and they stayed completely out of the limelight (I'm talking to you Razer).

The sooner Brownlow voting is taken away from them, the better.

So how much did you have placed?

I’ve never bet on the award.

Clarry had 40 touches against the Cats and missed out on a single vote.

Yep, I'm done.

Music acts, endless padding, Broooooce's cringe worthy interviews with drunk players, and it's 10.30 and they're still reading out votes.

This is the Brownlow under the auspices of the clueless morons at Channel 7 who think people will stomach bloated [censored] like this. Talk about being force-fed cow manure by a broadcaster who are happy to treat their audience like morons.

G Ablett Jnr has certainly been worthy in the past, but recon he got a heap of cheap votes this year.

The bias towards "champions" is so blatant. His season was barely above average. Well and truly past it but racks up votes because of his surname.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
