While we’re there, Hogan can line up at CHB and Garlett can assume the role of lock down defender in the back pocket.

TMac is now a forward. A gun forward.

Yep 0and 3 v a schoolboy side

We need to be careful not to go too tall and slow against the swans.  Moving  Fritsch back is a good idea can mark and has some pace. Pedo would be a mistake (as would introducing Weid).  Frost has the speed, body and aggression to go with Buddy and Omac is more than a match for Rohan.

40.16 for the year, 4 goals against Collingwood, 6.0 in the Geelong loss. But yep, let’s throw all that away and make him a defender again because his radar was a bit off in the first game he hasn’t kicked a goal in all season.

Let's hope Hannebery is underdone.

He should be. Hasn't played since rd 16 and only acted as the runner in the reserves game last week.

How did Bugg play over the weekend? Would be ironic if I’m the same week Gaff gets a huge suspension for an off the ball punch that Bugg returns against Sydney!

Really hope Melksham is good to go, our distribution into the forward 50 suffers without him.

Not gonna happen. OMac is in the team, he’s not going anywhere.

Wagner for Smith

Melks for Vanders/JKH (either one unlucky)

For info:  Tom Morris 'On the Couch' just said words like don't be surprised if J Hunt lines up for the Dees against the Swans.  Roosy broadly concurred with this approach, saying something like Hunt for Smith speed for speed makes sense ....... followed by the qualification if Hunty's had enough time in the VFL.

I'd be hitting the Swans with speed this week.  I'd risk a rusty Hunt.

In: Hunt and Melksham

Out: Smith and JKH

Bernie is the other who is in trouble.  He was poor against poor opposition on the weekend.

Not fussed about Hannebery or Rohan.

Both were stinking it up before their respective injuries. Hannebery hasn't had time to heal his body, the Swans have admitted they're going to effectively rush him back into the seniors because they want him there and not playing NEAFL.

I reckon on Peddo or maybe Weideman and Macdonald goes down back with bro. We have the scoring power with Hogan and Weideman.........

Something for all of us to say “TMac isn’t going down back full time, TMac isn’t going down back full time, TMac isn’t going down back full time...”

He might be used as a lose and sneak down occasionally when needed to clog up space but he is a full time fwd now.

Yes and yes

Rohan would be the danger man if he was available

To the Swans? He fluctuates between mediocre and deplorable for fine, with these tiny moments of decent.

Rohan and Henneberry definitely back this week.Grundy possible. Add that to recent incusions of McVeigh and Jack and the alarm bells are ringing.

McVeigh and Jack played against Collingwood and if Collingwood had a key defender to play on Buddy Sydney would have lost. Plus both of them are past it.

Rohan and Hannebery were both woefully out of form before their injuries and they're going to rush Hannebery back into the seniors on their own admission because they're lacking leadership (which is covering for the truth, which is their kids are faltering).

Sydney deserves respect, but in context.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
