Great half in terms of responding to a challenge. Lever down, Melksham and T. Smith are both carrying knocks. We really need to blow the doggies away in the 3rd. If we give them a sniff for the final qtr they might outlast us.

That's my worry. Need to blow them away. We'll run out of legs. AFL should not be giving us a 6 day break after NT.

We're not playing well, but let's be realistic - we aren't going to play well every single week.  Some games will be a struggle.  It's how we respond that matters.

After them kicking the first 3, having lots of cheap frees and winning the clearances, we showed the maturity to steady and kick 7 of the next 8.  Our older heads stood up, while Macca and Hogan stood up in the forward line.  We are cleaner, smarter and better, but allowing the Dogs to drag us down to their level.

I'm still confident for the second half but it won't be a 10 goal win.

what's going on with hibberd? fumbling and butchering the ball frequently today

Lever a possible bone bruise (at best) or a lateral for 4 to 6 (at worst).  Done for the day if someone hasnt't already mentioned

Lever update please have a heart attack here

Is apparently walking in the rooms and most likely a bone bruise (maybe 4 weeks max at worst)....don't hold me to any of that though

[censored] I suppose better than the ACL!

Fingers crossed not too serious.

This is going to be a struggle. Dogs love to play boring low scoring rubbish. They have held us very well. With one down and 2 not fully fit, this will be a big ask. Especially off a short break.

51 point win coming up

RN, that is sensational news in the scheme of things, particularly if you're paranoid (like me) when it comes to these things.

The only positive thing is that we have an 8 day break coming up and then the bye.  Hopefully Lever may just miss a week and return after the bye.

Umps have been pathetic. Almost like the AFL told them to make sure it’s a contest and not another trashing.

Tbh I've not really noticed the other two just the toerag Ray.

How many frees does Ray Chmberlin pay when he is not central umpire?! Ridiculous [censored] amounts.

Smith poleaxed in the back off the ball, no free.

Jetta what a guy, steady the ship Neville.

We look a little warn and sore but we should get up.

You never now when Lucifer's big ass boot is gonna get lodged between our sticks RTG.  All we can do each day is hope to avoid the [censored] and if we can't, at least make sure it doesn't turn into a goal

We can hope, but not unheard of to be walking after an acl.

Fingers and toes.

Razor is an absolute tool.

Just hope we have enough petrol in the tanks to finish the second half well.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
