GAME DAY

Josh

Recommended Posts

Working again today, start early finish early though so better get into it.

Feeling very uninspired for today. Great to see Spargo get a run, I think in today's football you have to be able to play your roll for the team so it's great to see a young bloke get a call up early.

I think today we need four quarters of solid football, doesn't have to be premiership football just solid. Make the most of your opportunities when we have the momentum and wrestle it back when we don't.

The result, as they say, will take care of itself.

Gawn BOG, Dee's by 37.

I feel unusually confident about this match. Essendon are in more doubt about themselves than we are.

We need to hold Joe D and minimise the impact of the bummers small brigade of quick mids.

The Return of Bayley and Mitch will add some punch up forward to feed off Tom the Weide and Jesse.

I like the inclusion of  Charlie Spargo to revitalise the group. A debutante can spark all players to lift with the enthusiasm of youth.

Looking forward to our mid field group working more effectively with Max and hopefully a game plan than will leak less easy goals to the opposition.

Dees by 33 points.

Dees by 3 pts in horrifying shamble fest

daniher 1.7

hogan 4.12

or else dees by 57 pt in false positive indication of where we are followed by horror show loss next week. Gawn in this case kicks 7.0 and Melbourne 15.4

or else and I suspect most likely Essendon kick the first 8 goals of game in strangle w€nk and we lose by 37

Hoping this game proves my theory that the game plan is more suited to the dome than MCG.

Hogan to kick 6

I think you are right to a certain extent. It's easier to defend on smaller grounds as there is less space to exploit. Our system seems to work at the MCG sporadically, it's a bigger ground & when our work rate drops off just a bit, then it all seems to fall apart. When we are pressing up high on the G it is going to take more sustained effort than it would at Etihad to keep the game on our terms. There is only so long in a game you can keep that high intensity press before your players get tired. I'm hoping the club addresses this or finds a plan B because at the moment plan A isn't working for 4 quarters. I find it hard to see it working on the G for 4 quarters without more running type players in the side. This is why players like ANB will keep getting a game in this system.

Ive got a sinking feeling. But I hope Im wrong. I remember last year we had a game plan that could beat anyone if we were switched on and it was only the dumb one quarter  lapses ( eg fremantle, the pies, the hawks etc ) that stopped us finishing probably top 4. This year it feels like we've fallen behind. Yes, our intensity is now more sustained but the way we play just isnt top 8. Not from what Ive seen so far.  I hate to say it but I think the bombers are a better team...or the team with the bigger upside if they switch on. Anyway I'll have to go and have a long shower after saying that and wash my mouth out. Again...really hope Im wrong about all Im saying and that rocknroll is right!  Im interstate but will be watching

Well not feeling over comfortable about this game. I think we go down or win by a bucket load.

We really need to win this one. Long road back from here if we don’t . Go dees play with some fight and Goodwin, mix it up a bit.

I’m interstate and will be flying back to Melbourne while the game is on. Hoping for a great result once we land.

Not confident about today. Petracca our is a big loss as he’s one of the few players we have with kicking skills and X factor. He’s also a proven goal scoring option forward.

Good luck to Spargo for his debut today. I reckon the kid’s a real goer and hopefully he shows his trademark fight and aggression today.

I will be this weeks sad-sack and predict a Druggies win by about 5 goals. So lacking in faith in the team,  i have planned a 60 km ride on the pusshie instead of staying home to watch another low skilled game of junk.

Surprise me Melbourne.

Would normally attend this game but the stress of the last few weeks has forced me to take a week off and actually enjoy my weekend.

Definitely not confident but hoping the Bombers woes continue as whoever loses will cop it in the media this week.

Go Dees

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
