watts never played like this in red and blue!

One of the silliest comments I've seen on here.

Port are my second team.

Great to see Watts do well and Barry proving that he’s can be a league footballer.

And I hate Adelaide for obvious reasons.

Interesting stat, Port have kicked 12 straight in the second half.  Must be some kind of record.

Watts is neat and tidy and is finishing off the hard work of his team.

He’s clearly a clinical finisher.

It doesn’t change the fact that when the going gets tough, he’ll go missing. He is getting very easy ball this game.

It’s a good game from him. But watch Port supporters get way too excited about it.

Practice games guys. Relax.

Mason cox just kicked 4 and looked like a star.

Once defenders are getting into watts his output will decrease

So basically he did SFA for 9 years for us because he couldn’t be arsed. Great

Pretty much it.

I am glad he is gone. I just wished we had pushed for higher compensation than pick 31

he has always had the talent, i saw it in his school days at BGS

You'll be happy with Bayley Fritsch, who has courage in the air and is just 21.

I wouldn't change a thing.

Didn’t watch but apparently was a sluggish game without a lot of pressure being applied. Perfect game for Watts to dominate.

i still don’t agree with the decision to trade him out as he’s approaching the peak of his career. He’ll be a very good player for Port this year.

Tha said, Fritsch is looking like he’ll be nice compensation.

Just came in after spending most of the day on my resto, flicked on Fox and watched the last 5 minutes of Port v Adel

Wattsy kicked 6 and had a couple of goal assists

Well done - I'm happy for him

Bayley has done eveerything right so far

Jack W never got out of 2nd gear.

Someone will ask him that one day, after he retires

Same here. I think he’s a very good player and I am still super disappointed that the club traded him.

That said, I don’t think we’ll miss him. I just wanted to see him lift the premiership cup wearing the red and the blue. But, unlike some others here, I like the narrative around this stuff, the intangibles. It’s what gives sport its soul.

Good ol’ Wattsy, only kicked 6 so we can keep talking about him. Good luck to the man over there, wish him well.

The most impressive part about todays games was the new hairdo on Darcy Moore.

Hawthorn ran out onto the ground looking pumped, I reckon they’ll thrash Carlton. Plus no one ever won a game wearing baby blue.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
