wanted neck tatts three years ago, will happily have stringer now

but...he's third / fourth on list of priorities

lever
gaff / whitfield
stringer

That would be a sensational summer for us. 2 of them would be great as well.

I wonder why you suddenly have a so called fallout when a year ago you won a premiership with this team.

Has he sooked it up because Bevo dropped him because he wasn't performing, or did he not think he got club support when his marriage fell apart. Which would surprise me considering how they supported Tom Boyd.

No I don't want him. yes he is only 23 but doesn't chase enough and a bit inconsistent. I hope he sorts it out with the dogs and stays there.

Nothing to do with being dropped, lots of rumors involving his ex and another player but that was on the back of Jake not being the most upstanding citizen either. Some suggestions are that he needs to leave to be able to sort out the issues.

Not sure if were the place for him, he's not known for his pressure game (he can be great but on a very occasional basis) and hasn't got the tank to move too much further than the Fwd50.

Image what could be accomplished with both Stringer and Petracca playing the half-forward wing/midfield roles.

I hope we go hard. He's a star who's market value is currently below its true worth.

There is no doubt he would be an amazing addition to the team if we can get him back to somewhere near hs 2015 form.  There isnt a team out there that could stop all three of Hogan, Petracca and Stringer each game.

Will be interesting to see if we throw our hat in the ring.

Bulldog's asking price will be for 2015 stringer, not 2017 stringer. 2017 stringer isn't worth much more than a 3rd round pick. 2015 stringer is a first pick and something else.

Rather Whitfield if we are dealing first round picks.

Absolutely spot on. We have lots of vanilla types & we are short of game changers. I know it's a risk but if Macca & Goody can get him fired then no-one will stop these three. Would be exciting times!

I'd go:

Whitfield

Gaff

Stringer

Lever

That order would easily change depending on the asking price of each.

Whitfield before Lever? Have I missed something?

That rumour was knocked on its head and hasnt gone any further.

But interestingly on 7 news tonight they said it was more the bulldogs that are pushing Jake towards a trade.

If we were to get him the dogs would want something good in return. he was a number 5 pick after all.

Definitely not Whitfield. He is an ok player but not the answer.

Lever is needed much more than Whitfield.

Sounds like a job for Clarko & the Whawks.   And they're not that big on defending anyway, are they?

Macca was there when Stringer was recruited, wasn't he?   Macca coached them in 2012, 13, & 14.

Stringer started playing senior AFL games in 2013.  So Macca coached him for 2 years.  He should know him well.

He is talented, but a difficult proposition I reckon, if Bevo is OK with him leaving.

Straight swap, Watts for Stringer ?

I reckon we have to give him consideration, but he is not our first priority. Recruitung him is definitely behind Lever and Whitfield. His best is amazing but he has fallen a long way off his best.

Hot and cold.

His best is sensational but his worst is........pretty bad.

A great talent but problems above the shoulders. A large and problematic ego.

Given his skills definitely worth considering. But would not sell the farm in return.

I won a lot of money backing the Bullies to beat the Crows a couple of years ago in a game where Stringer starred. I have a soft spot for him.

Someone proposed Crameri as a FA. Worth a look instead?

Apparently if Stringer stays, Crameri goes, and if Stringer goes, Crameri stays.

In his 'Sliding Doors' article, Barrett says:

If Jake Stringer is the only Bulldog seeking a new home ...then... we'd be very surprised. As we said here last week, not a happy camp. Carnage everywhere, on and off the playing list.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-09-08/sliding-doors-finals-week-one

Players that have had issues this year and seem to not have the coach's support:  T Boyd, Crameri, Stringer, Cloke, Liberatore.

Comments like preparation and lifestyle issues have been made regarding a couple of those players.

Looks like the reigning premiers have derailed themselves.

Stringer is a midfielder being played as a key forward through necessity.

He's in the mould of Ricciuto, just the dogs needed him to be mainly a goal kicker and he doesn't get many midfield minutes.

If he pulled the finger (has been lazy) he would be ahead of Whitfield and on a par with Martin.

Lot of if's but certainly worth a go if the FD think so.

Wow, ahead of Whitfield and on a par with Martin. Should be only a couple  of minutes until he is offered $10m from North.

Duderfiled has done some good things but not enough - also looks inured.

That Lambert goal has surely sealed it - even Richmond could not lose for here, surely?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
