At the g m team walikng off after a group meeting in the middle.  jack viney.  Walking ok with some type of support strap on upper foot. Seemed upbeat

A huddle in the middle 1.5 hours before the game, is a tad unusual

Revving each other up and getting into the right head space, I guess...would love to have been a fly on the wall, so to speak.

Good to here Jack is walking ok.   May he play again soon.

My band is playing in the Sydney suburb of Engadine (south end of that godforsaken area known as "the Shire") which for me is a 45 minute drive.  We start playing at 2pm but I have to get there earlier to make sure everything is ready to go. So, by the time we have played and I've managed to drive back to civilisation, the game will be over.

Crowd gonna be giving each other strange looks when the band is playing Lynyrd Skynyrd and you break out with "Its a grand old flag" during your last set. Just remember to take out your game day radio earphone before you start playing.

Swine flu that could kill a grandma has returneth - but, much to Ailsa's disgust, dragging bones in & can't miss it. Apologies in advance if I'm within transmission range.

Into the breach dear friends.

Do the world a favor, sit in the Filth cheer squad and cough, sneeze and spray your bug of death as far and wide as you can......

Peter Jackson just interviewed on SEN

What an impressive spokesperson for the club.. takes and speaks no BS.

The standout point made was that the club appears on target to post a million dollar profit this year?

Have a great time all you Demons going to the G - I can't make it today, probably a good thing as I'm so nervous, I could puke!

Gotta go today, boys, gotta go today ❤️?

I can so relate to all of this. I was 15 in 1987, still remember how amazing getting to the finals felt.

And I too know that the world won't end today if the worst happens. There are bigger things going on- believe it or not. Like the fact my father isn't around this time, and all sorts of other things too.

Still got excitement building within though. Good to see many other Dees fans on the train.

Footy does bind us together. Generation to generation.

Go Dees

IMO if we lose we miss finals - Adelaide will either have nothing to play for (If Geelong wins) or, alternatively, might even want to finish 2nd to get an easier finals schedule (e.g. avoiding Sydney or drawing Richmond).

But our destiny is in our hands and we should really be able to win this game. We play well against Collingwood, we've won our last two under similar pressure, and we have a strong side on the park.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
