Freo are planting the Hogan story, and they will continue to plant it every year. They know he is a gun, and they know how badly they need him.

It's smart of them to do it. Some players get awfully upset at even the possibility of a trade - just ask Jordan Lewis. The only thing we have to worry about is whether Hogan is enticed to go, or whether the club is being vocal with him about how valuable he is to us.

Lever wont be part of any trade for Hogan.

Not for one minute do I believe that Hogan will request a trade, but it is fanciful to think that it would involve 4 clubs. We'll deal with the Crows on Lever as a separate trade. What we get for Watts may be part of it, but there is no way in hell should the Gibbs to Adelaide deal be part of it.

That would be one of the worst deals of all time - trade a seasoned AFL footballer who has his flaws but arguably one of our most skilled players to the filth for an upgrade of 4 picks in the Lucky Dip they call the National draft. Then we flip that plus something to Adelaide for a bloke who just polled the same votes in the Brownlow as Oscar Mac and as far as I'm concerned is not a KPD - Wow I just give up

I agree, cant believe some of the trades I have read on this forum.

The idea of Hogan going is in the main preposterous. Its so far fetched its silly.

The sheer magnitude of its ridiculousness makes it ideally suited to circus week.

Crazy things happen. This qualifies.

Am hoping it doesn't. I'll feel better at 2.01 on the 19th of next month.

Noticed you've suggested the same elsewhere. Opinion or knowledge fuelling your comments?

Actions speak louder then rumours and for Hogan to poll 3 Brownlow votes against Brisbane with what he had to deal with for the year clearly demonstrates how much playing for Melbourne means to him.

Trade Hogan!!!!!!!!!!!!

This can longer be called "the silly season", it is the [censored] in the head season!!

I totally agree BBO. I also just tuned into the thread. Trade Hogan?.......shirley your joking!!......for what?!   Hes one of the best forwards going around......he took forever to sign, but then he did. So then what is the actual friggin point of these contracts then??

Id be staggered if he left. (we even let him smoke)>.

The Club can't afford to trade Hogan. The supporter fallout would be catastrophic and detrimental to our membership numbers. The rumour is mischievous

Yep, no need to worry about how we'd fair the year after, the place won't be standing once the members get through with it

I'll say something that may seem unkind but read it in context.

If Hogan were to seek a trade home this year, after signing a new contract and then  having the year from hell, in which the MFC have supported him 100%, I would regard him as an ungrateful person who I would then care little about.

HOWEVER, that is not the case and he is going nowhere. He apparently loves the club and his team mates and he continues to have my full support in both his recovery and his football career, with the Dees.

Bit disappointed that we seemingly don't have any interest in Devon Smith. Good pace, dangerous forward, wants more midfield time and could be used as that "outside" player I would have thought.

If it's true it does sound a little like mark neeld. There are literally petitions being sent to the club to keep jack. Especially considering we're unlikely to get much for him

We would get a lot for him if it was his initiative.

Other clubs know that he's being pushed out so they know that they don't have to ask much.

I really think we'd accept Watts for a 4-pick drop from 10 to 6 if it would help us land Lever more easily. Massive unders, but it might gets us what we want. We're in a lousy position to demand much for Watts (who is not damaged goods like Stringer), and this may well be as good as we are likely to get.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
