Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Well it was nice watching Geelong get thumped, but makes it even more important for us to win tomorrow. Top 4 is probably out of reach now due to our lower percentage, but we need to make sure we come home strong to give ourselves a decent run in finals. It would be good to get a final in Melbourne. Would hate for our first final in over a decade to be interstate and get knocked out straight away.

Don't even want to think about the possibility we may tire and miss finals. I'd be livid!

One day at a time, bro. Only way to look at it.

Could have sworn i saw No 26 for Cats put TWO knees into a swans bloke's back two seconds before half time in a marking contest.

Would have to have been deliberate, reckless, reportable and dangerous.

Just saw the stats on AFL Scores. The Cats are killing them according to this, in every department. Yet the Swans are double their score?

Efficiency. The Swans had 22 possessions after about 6 mins and 4 goals 2 pts on the board.. quite unbelievable

You have to wonder dont you.....they couldnt win their first 6 games. Sure they had injuries, but these sides know where the business end of the season is. They must just tempo it and play the season accordingly.

Part of me is actually kind of hoping that the Tigers beat Hawthorn this weekend, just because I hate those arogant Hawks suppoters, their arrogant side and would love to see any faint finals hope for them snuffed out.  Conversely if the Tigers loose, it keeps 4th spot ajar for us, asumming we are good enough to win most/all games from here.

Scott reckons Papley 'dived' after the Duncan punch!  He is such a sore loser!

The media are describing it as a 'push' - Duncan's right fist looks closed before and after he hit Duncan. The are softening up the MRP.

Hawkins also has a couple of events that might attract MRP attention.

Lets hope Bartel is not on the MRP this week.  It just highlights another weakness in the MRP - recently retired players should not be there because it is their mates they review and I challenge anyone to stay objective when finals are so close.

Edit:  Bartel didn't sit on the MRP to decide on Dangerfield so his objectivity hasn't really been tested.

It should never have to be tested. A perceived conflict of interest is sufficient for someone on a panel/judge to walk away from the case.  Why the AFL has past players on the MRP is totally beyond me.

Both the Scotts are good at 'copy writing' for the media. Must be a tactic in their DNA

Agreed...but we know the AFL is a law unto itself with the utmost 'integrity'...

Wasn't that only because he was overseas. There are 5 on the panel but last  week 2 were OS on holidays?

Yes, so his objectivity wasn't tested.

He shouldn't sit this week either.  As 'sue' said: conflict of interest.

One man out and Geelong are kitty litter. We have had top players out for most of the season they have had one for one game and it shows what they are like. Pathetic.

Only Melbourne could [censored] over 16 other clubs and hand the drug cheats a finals position.

I feel sick.

The only consolation prize now would be Bulldogs beating Brisbane and knocking them back out.

Essendon have won this game purely on the fact they are fresher because they have played 7 weeks straight in Melbourne.

Nice one AFL. Makes me wish we took drugs in 2013.

Yeah and they are back at Etihad next week as well

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
