Jack Riewoldt is a big out for the Tigers with May and Ablett back for the Suns. Surely a chance of an upset, and if Port, Sydney and Melbourne win the Tigers could slide to as low as 7th. Tigers final four games are against the Hawks, Cats, Freo (away) and St.Kilda at the G which could be a send off for N Riewoldt and Montagna. Tigers missing the 8 is still a possibility.

Hawks are a chance against the Swans, they are the only team to have beaten Sydney in the last 11 weeks. 3 out of Sydney's next 4 games will give us a more realistic idea of how they're travelling.

Top 9 playing lower 9, any slip up by top 9 teams will have major consequences come September. 

If Hawks and Saints lose they are out of the running. 

There's an intriguing contest for 8th spot with Dons, Weagles and Doggies all vying. Dons Vs Doggies a huge game for both clubs. Eagles be looking to build percentage vs Lions.

 A win to us keeps us clear of that mess. 

Similarly we're in a tussle with Port and Swans to move up to 5th or 6th and the prospect of a home final. Our percentage is way below both clubs so hoping for Saint to beat Port and Hawks to pinch it vs Swans. 

It has the feel of a congested horse race as they round the curve to the final straight, lots of possible moves and outcomes.

I've tipped :

Hawks over Sydney - Hawks the only team to beat Sydney during their streak (at SCG). Regardless of personnel, ladder pos, etc, will always be a fierce contest. Swans due for a loss (?)

Suns over Tiggies - No Reiwoldt from friendly fire at training, therefore their forward line too small. Ablett back in. Just feel a choke coming on for the Tiggies brimming with confidence. 

Edit - Dogs over Bummers - Dogs on their very last chance, I think they'll lift

Any one of GWS, Richmond, Port or Swans losing is a good result ...

Probably the "best" one would be a loss by GWS simply because it is then in our hands to take their spot in the four the following week.

The dream scenario for us is for Melbourne , Freo, Hawks Saints and Gold Coast all to win.  If us and 2 of the others happen it will be huge.

As long as you guys beat North, which you should, purely from a Melbourne perspective, surely you are wanting Hawthorn, Gold Coast and Saints to win.

Freo beating the Giants would be a real bonus.

Bulldogs vs Essendon result is kinda irrelevant to Melbourne as only one or neither will make finals, and would think Melbourne don't fear either.

Melbourne should be aiming for top 4, so obviously Richmond, Sydney and Port Adelaide losses are at the top of the wish list this week.

I genuinely think we are better off with Sydney in the top 4, rather than risk meeting them away in week 1... Of course, it would be better for us to be there, but if we can't be, I'd rather Sydney smash Hawthorn and get out of the elimination finals spots.

Has to be Hawks over Swans, both Sydney and Richmond have a tough runs home but Richmond are more likely to come unstuck, Swans are the bigger threat for the 4.

I'm being simplistic in my view, but we just need to keep winning and forget about the rest.  We can win every game from here to the finals and if we do that then our position takes care of itself.

Having said that, seeing a few underdogs get up this weekend will be nice to watch.

I'm hoping St Kilda beat Port.

If we can somehow win this week we'll go ahead of Port and hopefully stay ahead of them for the rest of the year. And then somehow play Port week 1 at the MCG. (eg - 5th v 8th)
