Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yes, I got that comment thrown at me on the TIO ground immediately after the game in Darwin of all places, and from a North Melb supporter - go figure!

He also asked me how the snow was in Buller, and I said, "I don't effing know, I'm here in Darwin supporting the Dees, having made the trip from North Melb, where I live!"

I mentioned to him smugly the Roy Morgan research paper (about how loyal Dees' supporters are), then casually had a shot for goal from Jayden's flank outside 50 with my daughter's ball and popped it straight through the middle. (Ok, it was 30 metres out, but on a similar angle.)

He gave me a modicum of respect after that.

Nice work Ben E

North will be living near the South Pole soon.

They will have a year round view of the snow soon, not just the odd week as it is now.

Don't bother trying to get anything from the Woolworths Deli in Niddrie on Grand Final Day wearing a Melbourne jumper if we are playing Essendon.

Thats what I tried doing in 2000 and the chick behind the counter refused to serve me.

It's funny, but I have gone from the guy at work who follows that "irrelevant team" to the guy at work who follows that "thug team".

All of a sudden we look the goods, and everyone f'ing hates us!

I love it! I don't care where I am or am not welcome, I'm wearing my teams colours with pride.

Vic park was the worst of the grounds. I remember going there with a couple of collinwood mates as a guest in the stand behind the nothern end goals. Luckily they were playing I think Sth Melb but the crowd was a disgrace. Spitting on the opposition coach was something I saw which blew me away. I think the last time we played there we won and they were on top of the ladder ( 94?) and I left very qiuckly with my scarf tied under my jumper.

T he next worse was Windy Hill. Full of essenscum supporters who were a stage above Richmond barrackers because they could pronounce the letter F.

I used to quite like Vicious Park. Either flank at the Yarra Falls end where good to watch footy from. Best to stop all fluid intake in the lead-up or wear gumboots as the dunnies were a disgrace. Managed a couple of souvenirs after we handed them the spoon in '76. A bent nose and a black eye - badges of honour I thought.

Windy Hill had no redeeming features whatsoever.Shitehole full of goat rooting Essendon fans

The next time someone jokes about going to the snow, the simplest way to respond is to highlight the expense of the trip. As soon as you admit it and say something along the lines of, "At least I can afford to go to the snow..." they tend to shut up.

I would not be able to contain myself. I know a couple of eagle supporters here and I thought Geelong and Hawthorn supporters were smug.

They're only smug when their team is up and about, probably the worst of all supporters. They're quick to shut up and not care about footy when their team isn't doing so well.

I wore my Melbourne jumper to work the Monday after our win and kept kicking the footy over my head through a doorway.

Places not to go?

Nowhere.

[censored] everyone else. They follow the game WE invented, and they are invited guests to OUR competition, played on OUR ground.

EVERYONE else is a bandwagoner.

25 years for me. Definitely Collingwood territory in my youth. The Magpie curse bit my mother and sister mainly because of the close ties between the Preston Bullants and Collingwood. Haven't been to Preston in many years and can't envisage ever doing so.  I'm sure it's very different now though.

I never had any trouble whenever I went to games and still don't.  I wear my MFC gear, barrack loudly, hang sheet on the opposition, abuse opposition fans and all without any incident.

Maybe because I'm 198cm and 110kgs, have a broken nose and a big, ugly moustache. Or maybe it's because I'm just a really good bloke!

The final before the grand final in 2000. As I was leaving the the game as a brown skinned 20 year old, I  got abused by a north supporter. I bluffed and and challenged him to a fight. He was shocked, and he apologised. Thanks Jeff Farmer for inspising me.

It's changed a lot since I bought my first house in Preston in 2002 - hipster central nowadays and for the most part a good area....but I'm sure you're referring to an earlier time.

Best decision I ever made buying my first place there.

Agreed we may be outnumbered by the Collingwoods and Essendons but the MFC has good support in the North.

Linton Street. Circa 1981. The old man drove and parked a block away & we arrived late, midway through first quarter. Nobody on the outside of stands at big asphalt ramp entry - except for 4 guys who had another poor blighter sandwiched into a cyclone wire fence turned on itself - as if it were a giant waffle maker. They were smashing glass bottles over him.

Only danger nowadays is burning your tongue on a hot jam donut.

I'll never forget the 1st time my old man took me to Vic park as a young fella.
Walked up to the turnstyles past a row of retarded folk in black and white wheel chairs and was told to "Fork off Melbourne." by them.
Just jaw dropping stuff for a wide eyed kid but a fitting introduction to the locals.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
