Sorry Vince was ineffective and undisciplined. Not even close to one of our best.

Wagner fumbled and cost us. Not the worst but was frustrating. His failure in marking contest in the last quarter cost us any momentum.

Until the time he went off with 5 minutes to play in the third quarter Sloane had 8 disposals.  Vince did his job very well.

6. Hunt - Was in absolutely everything. Some of his kicks forward weren't too flash (he wasn't alone there) but his run and that legendary torpedo gets him the chocolates this week.

5. Lewis - Close to his best game of the season. Didn't miss many targets or fumbled the ball much on a very slippery night.

4. Hibberd - Wasteful going forward at times but his endeavour and rebound from defence isn't doing any harm for his case to be one of the best recruits of recent time. Very strong chance of taking out the B&F this year provided he can catch up to Clarry.

3. Melksham - Proving to be a surprise packet up forward with his three first half goals. Was very creative at times as well in setting up shots for his teammates. Building very nicely at the right time of the season.

2. ANB - 23 odd touches at nearly 85% efficiency. Putting together a very fine patch of form in the absence of our midfield warriors.

1. JKH - Well done young man. Started fairly slowly and made some poor errors but improved as the game went on. Deserves another couple of weeks in the team based on tonight.

Honerable mention to Bernie who clearly beat Sloane but misses out on votes due to another immature brain fade. Jetta was also good on Betts during the first half but couldn't maintain it once Adelaide really put the foot down.

6. Lewis - stood up in trying conditions and was composed

5. Hunt - worked hard all night and will be great when he gets more composed delivering inside 50

4. Oliver - started slowly but once he got his hands dirty was one of the main reasons we got back into it

3. Vince - 1 brain fade which will hurt us next week but given 1 job to do and did it convincingly

2. Melksham - worked his arse off and rewarded for his efforts

1. Nibbler & Trac - both were factors 1 for sheer effort and contested work and the other for showing smarts, standing up physically in the contest and not panicking under pressure.

6 - Hunt - 27 touches, 10 contested, 8 rebound 50's 5 inside 50's. 733 meters gained. I was worried that he wasnt going to get back (this season) to pre knocked out form. All it took was to play Adelaide again to reset. W

5 - Hibberd - 779 meters gained, 11 intercept possessions. He and Laird (who will go AA) basically had the same game (eerily similar) and Laird's is another game to add to his AA crown. It is tough coming back from injury and getting into AA contention because certain players are already cemented. But will be interesting to see if he makes the squad of 40.

4 - Oliver - was going to go Lewis, but I think Oliver's game has been underplayed. Leading clearance and contested player on the ground. He is a second year player and without him I dont think we would be in the 8. Just found a way to win the contest.

3 - Lewis - The Lewis insurance policy paid off again. Just looked like he was playing at a different tempo. Sees what is happening and helps our boys get to the right position.

2. ANB - Toss up between him and JKH. 11 contested possies, 5 inside 50's, 24 pressure acts, 6 tackles, he is getting better and better and I think a few clubs (Adelaide included) will be asking him if he is happy playing half forward flank for the Dees.

1 - JKH - did not see that happening. Started slowly and then bang in the second half! 20 pressure acts, 10 contested possies, 5 tackles. Really played with some freedom. Will be interesting next week with Tyson back (maybe Viney), then Jones, then Salem what happens with JKH, but done himself no harm.

Special mention to Petracca (much better second half), Melksham (3 goals), Vince (tagging), Oscar (golden paw), and Jetta (keeping a good Eddie down).

Honorable mentions to JKH, Hibbard, Jetta, Hogan, Frost, Smith and Kent for effort and endevor.  Although he didn't get a heap of the pill or use it very well when he did, I did thought Kent's running and tackling were pretty good, typified by his tackle that ended Slone's night (not because it ended his night, but the ferocity og the tackle).  It's a really pitty that Kent got injured, because he might just have been starting to find form.  I find the malign on this forum at present somewhat difficult to understand, he was injured in the off season and has struggled to find his top form, but at his best, Kent can be a pretty good player for us.  I think it's somewhat of a reality that not all players can be in form all the time, so I'm not about to pay out on them for one bad season.

Frost had one of his worst games for the year.  Tried hard and dared to take the game on as always, but a bit like Tom McDonald last night, almost every time they tried to get around an opponent, they got caught and turned it over, he also fumbled and couldn't control the slipery ball very well.

To say that we had passengers is laughable.  Their system and ball movement was clearly better than ours and they hurt us far more when they had the ball at times, but that doesn't make the other guys that pulled on the boots for us passengers.  Despite what the players and coachest will say, I really do think we are missing our A team on ball side badley.  Take Dangerfeild, Selwood and Duncan out of Geelong and they would have been beaten as badly or worse against the Crows last night.  That we were almost in the game for patches last night is a credit to ALL the guys that run out on the park for us.

6.  Lewis  -  four quality quarters where his experience and leadership shone through.  Best game for our Club.

5.  Hunt  -  ran himself into the ground, topped off by GOTY.

4.  Oliver  -  slowish start, but worked into the game and was a key influence in our mini-revival.

3.  Hibberd  -  more of what we've seen from Hibbo all year, but without some of the classy finishing.

2.  ANB  -  got a fair bit of the pill through sheer hard work and grunt, and ball use is getting much better.  Really starting to look like he 'belongs' at this level.

1.  Melksham  - Our best forward on the night.  Another who played his best game for the Club.

Also thought Wagner, JKH, Petracca and Vince were solid contriburors. Very pleased for JKH.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
