Yep - the group I have lazily come to refer as the foot soldiers. Exactly those players in fact.

I thought White in particular looked way in over his head. I hate to single out a rookie listed player in game 3(?) but he just couldn't compete on any level. It's a very tough way to find out that you're not at the standard. I don't begrudge him or blame him, just think it's the harsh reality.

I hate to say it, but did Goody make an error in selecting him?  Should we have given a JKH, for example, a run and left Hunt down back?  No one gets everything right, but it seems the selections backfired on us a little this week.  Very easy to say in hindsight, though.

Jack Watts was speaking pre game and saying thim him , Jeff Garlett, and Jesse Hogan all big chance to play next week.

Where?

Triple M reported (via AFL today, or whatever that crappy fox show is), he damaged his hammy further at training and has now torn it.

Tyson?

Looked to have hurt his knee in the dying seconds of the game. Struggled off the ground with help from a medical staff member. Knowing his knee history I'm not expecting good news.

TMac also limping heavily at the end of the match with heavily strapped leg so hopefully he pulls up ok. We're the walking dead at the moment. Shame to see injury ruin what is a very promising football team this year.

JKH was never in the mix due to a club imposed ban on him, Kent and BenKen.

well tonight was a downer. Yes the 4 games in 18 days did have an impact on us. But we lost this through lack of effort, the whole team was flat, we did not tackle, we did not chase. Putting both wagner and white down in the backline threw it out of wack, both did very little for the team. Hunt and Harmes both quite. Bugg may as well went off after that hit on the swans player as he contributed bugger all. We failed to man up so the swans just chipped it around us all night long.

Guys need to have a good long break and bring in some fresh players, wager, white, bugg, Harmes and possible ANB could all have a rest and practice their skills with Casey.

That's what happens when you play 4 games in 18 days.

It takes it's toll and it did.

This was the result I expected tonight but convinced myself it wasn't going to happen...

I must have misheard him in the Lindsay Hasett room.

You're kidding yourself if you think the season is over.  Our backs are against the wall, but we've shown the ability to overcome some of those challenges this year.  4 games in 18 days will make it tough for any side.  Let's see how the next few weeks pan out for us before we start giving the season away.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
