It's good to see Jack Watts moving freely and seemingly unencumbered by the rolled ankle he experienced earlier in the week.

Max Gawn looks good to go ... the snags are of the usual high quality and Jayden Hunt's sporting a blue headband.

Confucius say when Hunt wear blue headband at training, Demons win.

Is Bugg working on his set shots for goal?

We may need him to slot one at some stage this season.

I watched him miss three in a row from 30 out straight in front, then averted my gaze as to preserve my sanity.

Yes, forwards are meant to kick goals, not behinds..

Anyone need a behind kicked today? See Thomas Bugg Esquire. Kicking Behinds a specialty.

Watts moving well. Very slippery early on in the session with some of the boys losing their footing.

That is music to my ears.  I was desperately hoping Watts would get up.

You are doing a great job of reporting back.  Keep up the good work (if your phone holds up).

Thanks for the efforts.

Anyone know if Joel Smith is taking part in any training yet?  Cant wait for him to get back

Did pretty much the whole session. Won't be far off returning.

Bloody brilliant.  Should be able to force his way into the senior team in a month or so, likely replacing O Mac.  Does everything better and has some elite traits, none more so than his leap, marking ability and reading of the play.

While it's frustrating that Bugg misses shots at goal, it's good he is getting so many shots. Shows he gets to the right places and beats his opponent, unlike some of his teammates such as Kent or JKH. If only they had his work ethic and smarts...

If he cant finish it means nothing. Remember Cloke a few years ago at the pies. He was handy back then too but really bad for their morale when he kept  kicking points. He's got to work though it quickly  or be dropped imo,

Finally home, the most impressive part of the session was definitely Maxy. As mentioned by previous posters the man is a powerful beast, looked free in his movement and doesn't appear to be restricted at all. He completed the session with the main group in drills and at one stage won his own ball and sprinted clear from a couple of more nimble teammates with ease. Also stayed back to continue training with Gus and J.Smith.  From what I witnessed he could easily have played on Monday.

The main group participated in the usual  short drills of quick ball movement for about 90 minutes with not an excessive amount of intensity. Everything seems like going to plan, they were clean and precise most times.

Great crowd, I got my fix after a couple of weeks without seeing them, bring on Monday.

Feel free to ask any questions  and I'll try and answer.

Great to see these longer-term injured returning. That's the 2 Smiths back on deck (more or less), plus Gus, Spencer, Gawn - and hopefully Hogan. Injury/out list starting to look a lot less consequential.

How did Christian Petracca train.  Looking for a big game from him, his knee looked to have been giving him some trouble.  Hopefully the week off has given him a chance to recuperate ready to hit the rest of the season hard.

Petracca talks like he likes a big stage.  He's had a week off to freshen up the bone bruising to his knee from a few weeks back and hopefully he steps things up on Monday.

He's the type of player that can make a huge difference if he plays 4 quarters, which I'm yet to see.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
