Furious with Bugg - cost us the game by missing 4 goals. Kent is soft and turns the ball over. Watts going back to his old ways and can't take a mark. Less said about OMac the better and I wonder if Hunt should have played after that concussion. No point in playing the Weed - at this stage he has NFI.

How about that deliberate out of bounds in the last quarter he paid. Hibbards handpass was partially intercepted for gods sake.

The non fifty to bugg got me, it was like 4 seconds after and thompson knew he market it he was right there.

Why did they put Oscar back on Brown at the start of the 3/4? Umps made some interesting calls. Jetta & Hibberd were outstanding.

Umpires gave 22 to 10 free kicks in favour of the Roos! Absolutely crucified us! ?

So?

Cunnington hurt his ankle badly and end up BOG.

Enough with the Watts excuses

It was a day he should have stood tall and contributed ....somehow....but didn't.  Has been flying under the radar far too often this year.

I would hate to see this lethargy in a finals campaign if we were to ever get there.  A bit like many in the rest of the team, some individuals excluded.

Fark... Weids just not ready. Oscar the same (hopefully)

I doubt Kent would pass a skin fold test.

Bugg... we needed better.

No key forward. No ruck.

Strange year. I still feel like we arent too far off.

Umpires. [censored] you. Worst display I nave seen in years.

Tarrant knew they wouldnt call anything against them and consistantly pushed his opponent out.

Another wasted opportunity. We get exposed when we have a few players off the boil because we are carrying others.

Watts back to the soft player that we used to loathe so badly. Lays half-arsed tackles, stages for frees, doesn't contest marks etc, etc.

A terrible game from him.

I'm so sick of this sh!t. I'm so sick and tired of Goodwin's post match interviews of 'it's not the type of footy we want to play'. It's getting predictable. You're the bloody coach!! You have a whole week to get your team to try. That's all..try! If the players aren't buying into Goodwin then he needs to go. Simple as that. I don't care how early it is or as good as our win against adelaide was. We're not consistently trying! Pathetic.

Also for fellow demonlanders, you guys were calling for Hannan's head but clearly you don't know anything about footy. He needed a string of games to feel at home on an afl ground and this performance was always coming. He played a good game today and would've lost by more without him.

Now for the umpires. Disgusting. That lack of 50m against Bugg was pathetic. Yes, Bugg should've kicked it anyway but it was an absolute buzz kill. I'd like there to be a review into that decision and whichever umpire was in the prxominity to be sent back to country footy until they understand what a 50m penalty is set up for.

Petracca, terrible!! fumble fingers and kicking is sh!t. How long does it take for him to build a tank and play as a midfielder. He shanked the ball so much today. disgusting.  Get some bloody awareness and stop getting chased down from behind. My God!

Oscar McDonald. I seriously can't put up with this guys sh!t for 10 more years. I've already gone through Tom Mcdonalds lack of awareness, disposal and lack of basic human IQ for many years, how can I go through another 10!!!

The club has physio's, specialised coach, psychologists, doctors, motivational speakers etc. at their disposal all week and they put up cr@p like that in the 1st quarter. disgrace. I want to say we 'should be near the top of the ladder' with all of our close losses but what's the point of making finals if we don't even try. These guys get paid to shank the ball for 2 hours and play one-way football. I can't take another calm Goodwin presser.

Season is over.

Agree  being sick of these loses...

But unfair on Pettracca as its his second season after a knee reco....These young kids need 3-4 years of preseasons to become elite and build their tanks!

Goodwin, very unfair only after 9 games & he's not going to lash at them in a presser!

We really miss having a classy winger with speed, smarts and ball use.

What I would give for Josh Kelly.

Also, I have tremendous respect for Cunnington.  What a superb display under a massive injury cloud.  Poise, calm, and execution.

I really enjoy hearing about how we're a developing team (for the last 10 years.....).

That's a little oversimplified I reckon. The real prime movers on the team, the stars that really make it happen, are all super young. Their prime movers are way more mature.

9 mil for 9 years would probably get him to the club...

And the trip on Hunt.....And the Punch in the guts of Vince...A number of incorrect disposals by Norf not payed in front of our goals.

It wasn't just the lop sided ones PAID. It was also the ones that weren't paid. Definitely influenced the result.

The statement was he was very good today. He took NONE of his chances, therefore, his game was pathetic.

We can get into semantics I suppose. He was very good up until he took a kick at goal, and then he was pathetic. Unlikely as well that his set shots will be so bad week to week if he plays like he did today.

Not having a go, hope you (kinda) get what I mean. I'm as frustrated as anyone, but, yeah.

Happy to single out some individuals, but...

just a glance at the tackling pressure in the 1st and 3rd quarters, against the 2nd quarter in particular, and there is the reason we lost.

I could single individual moments like Bugg's missed chances or Watts' flopping for a free when we were desperate for a contest, but the team wide application was the issue.

Remember when we had bunch of promising first round draft picks few roughies an AA ruckman and false hope?

2011.

Thats what this year is shaping up to be.. Another wasted one. Even Richmond have strung together 5-7 wins in a row in their pathetic decade.. We can't even manage more than three, which has happened maybe twice?? ??

Firstly I think no Hogan is causing Watts to get a premier defender that has made it a bit more difficult. Secondly, I think a part of it is up the ground. I think I can recall maybe one genuine one-on-one for him in the F50. The other possibility is that the forward set-up just isn't working.

From rounds 7 to 9. The goals are:

Weid: 0 Goals

Watts: 1 Goal

Garlett: 6

Kent: 3

Petracca: 1

Hannan: 4

That's a total of 13 goals from all our forwards in 3 games.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
