GAMEDAY - Round 7

Recommended Posts

Very nervous for this one. Has the feelings of a line in the sand game tbh, the young up and comers against the aging champions. We need to find a way to win, our two worst games of the year we're vs Carlton and the Shockers, both games we were favourites to win

Not very helpful I know but somewhere out of the rain would be good!

Yes...under cover was my first thought.

Great to see the red and blue colours far outnumbering the yellow and gold on my train, from what I can see.

Passing through the heartland at Glenferrie soon. I'll try to arrange a carriage door malfunction.

What's the weather like?

It's clear but absolutely freezing. I have so many layers of clothes on I can hardly move in my seat.

Its grey overhead, about 15° but when the wind kicks in it's pretty chilly.

I'm in my boardies sweating like a motherf***er in 35' with 90% humidity.

Might have another dip in the pewal! ??

Not many at the ground. It's cold but doesn't look like it will rain (touch wood). Hopefully the boys have the right mindset and turn up to win and win well. Cannot afford to lose today given other results this weekend. This is a good chance to solidify our spot in the 8 and build confidence and momentum.

As I approach the ground, a flock of ravens is being pursued by a single, pure white bird, and a cloud the size and shape of a UPS delivery van passes high overhead. I hear distant music, and its melancholy refrain reminds me of a time long ago, before the deliberate out of bounds rule was ruined. Two small figures perch in a tree overhead, speaking in a language unknown to me. I ignore them. Subtle movements in the earth beneath my feet trouble me, but patterns in the fallen leaves may suggest benign times ahead. The wind cries, 'Mary'.

Dees by 24 points.

Posts like this make me glad there's a Demonland.

Probably our best team across field for the year, with the exception for Gawn/Spencer, and maybe Kent/JKH though the jury still out on that as Kent been so-so...

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag
