I don't think Kent will play. They're [censored]-teasing him so he works hard this week IMO.

Hogan is named in the starting 18 and I suspect Stretch will get the nod for JKH. Wagner might play for Oscar too. Be interesting to see.

No he is named...I`m thinking ANB possibly, then they both have would have had a rest!

You virtually never see a player named in the 18 omitted.

He got mentioned in Goody`s post match that he is doing what he is asked to do, whatever that may be. I`d suggest it is pressure acts / forward pressure, and that is what Kent has been lacking and why he got dropped

He does need a big game though I agree.

Jkh is certainly mentioned. Wouldn't say in glowing terms. The Goody comment sounded rather glib to be honest..

Think Jay can consider himself rather lucky this week. He's definitely next on the block if he doesn't add to his game.

Hope he can.

JKH is named in a forward pocket.

You know how team selection works right? Starting 18 are the starting 18. The interchange are the ones that are up in the air.

Had missed that he was named on the ground, which means ANB is back to the 2's.

That said, they can actually take someone out of the starting 18 and swap them with a player on the interchange...

So much for Goody playing favourites with Melksham.  Thats a relief.

Just giving him a rest, same as will probably happen for ANB.

Strange that Dom is on the extended bench, when the coaches even gave him votes last week.

With Melksham out i reckon it would be either a Wagner or a Salem as they both can play half back .

Im not sure if Kent will come in as we have named Hannan and JKH in the starting line up.

i think a fresh Stretch would give some handy run, but don't think OMac will play as he was brought in as part of a plan for Joe Daniher last week and didn't really set the world on fire.

From that bench I would play Salem, Stretch, Kent and Wagner. But with TMac possibly doing more ruck duties they may want Oscar in again. And ANB keeps getting high praise so Kent would be hard pressed to get in. I'm a fan of Tyson despite his flaws but he has had too many chances, needs to earn his spot now.

If Wagner plays I dont see issue without O-Mac of Tommy swinging into the ruck and Frost taking Roughy and one of Wagner/Hibberd minding OBrien. They aren't exactly the land of giants in the forward 6.

I find it interesting and have done so for a few weeks.

It's clear to me that the FD think Dom needs to tidy up his disposal by foot. It also vindicates the thinking that although you get some coaches votes, it doesn't mean there aren't still flaws in your game.

JKH won't be one of the outs.  It surprises me that some of the forum regulars still aren't aware that the outs always come from the extended bench.

They are usually the same that think funnily enough that those shown in the 18 must start in that position on game day.

Goodwin is 6 weeks behind me, but I commend him for catching on. Must be Xmas.

Seriously though, I like this team and the possible ins. I think Oscar comes out, not needed.

Does this now finally debunk the bull[censored] myth that Goodwin plays favourites? Eff me dead that narrative was/is tedious.

Someone explained to Goody that the goat photos that were passed down to Melksham showed the Rev and not him.

B: Michael Hibberd, Tom McDonald, Neville Jetta

HB: Jayden Hunt, Sam Frost, Jordan Lewis

C: Nathan Jones, Clayton Oliver, Tom Bugg

HF: Christian Petracca, Jack Watts, Mitch Hannan

F: Jeff Garlett, Jesse Hogan, Jay Kennedy-Harris

Foll: Cam Pedersen, Bernie Vince, Jack Viney

I/C (from): Christian Salem, Dom Tyson, Billy Stretch, Dean Kent, Alex Neal-Bullen, Oscar McDonald, Josh Wagner

This is a good team and I, for one, could not argue with the elections. Bugg and JKH back up for a second game and the structure of the 7 man interchange makes sure they understand that there are quality options available to the selector if they do not do as required.

Take any three out of the I/C and add to them the critical injured players such as Gawn, Brayshaw, Joel Smith, Spencer and VDB and we have serious depth to play with.

(,,,....:::;;;; place as required above)

Spot on, was thinking along the same lines. Looking like a young, formidable team on paper. Looking fwd to the rest of the season if the injury list stablises we could be in for a fun rest of the season.

Maybe they want skill by foot and play both Wagner and Salem, ANB would be very stiff to get dropped, so would Dom on last weeks performance even though he had a couple of bad clangers.

Im almost certain OMac and Kent won't play, can't pick the third out though could be Stretch.

Not sure he'd be very stiff old ANB, he has played a role and ticked most of the boxes each week. In saying that,  as we have seen he is a limited player but can stick to the game plan and do it well, just not enough strings to his bow and think he will remain a fringe player. As with every player I hope he surprises me.

So JKH gets another run! I hope he has a big game otherwise might be the last we see of him for a while.

possibly, but any omissions don't necessarily have to come from the extended bench. he could still be dropped but probably unlikely now

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
