JKH could be a late withdrawl through injury and replaced by an emergency. Otherwise, we would be fined for the above scenario.

That said, It was mainly tongue in cheek discussion from what I saw. I didn't genuinely think Goodwin was playing him due to favouritism. I was however starting to suspect he rated him a lot higher than what I believe his actual worth is. His omission is several weeks late imo but better late than never.

Drafting a bloke doesn't mean he is a favourite. Thinking he can add value to the team, you know their training habits and they are gettable, over playing them when better options are available then yes.

Early doors this season the cupboard has been a little bare so Milky has stayed. Now it is a little more stocked, back to the shelf he goes (sorry the old darl is watching master chef).

I definitely think he could be that and maybe a littler bit more. If he can play his role as a half back I think he adds depth to the Wagner/Hunt/Lewis/Hibberd/Jetta halfbacks who attack from that position. He is a decent kick and has some agility with the ball when he's playing with confidence. I think the reason he's played six games is probably because he has played his role well enough for the coaching staff to keep him in. I think many are quick to judge a player who doesn't win a lot of ball.

seriously doubt we have those type of contract clauses any more. moreso after a player suffers a self imposed long suspension

Trenners is a lovely bloke, but the game has passed him by.

Stretch will be in our top 10 players in 2-3 years time. He's a really good decision-maker, a good runner and adheres nicely to structures. Really important player for our game style too.

Re Milkshake:  he was recruited at a time when our defensive stocks were not so strong with running, rebounding types.  In the time he was out, there have been significant advancement in competition.  Hunt, Wagner, Hibbard, etc.

I have no problem with him getting a few weeks to prove himself and find his feet, but there are some areas where he now needs to go back to the VFL and prove he is up to scratch to earn his spot.  With Wags getting over his injury and having a good VFL game, he might be the switch.

its a great problem to have- depth.

Agree. I feel for Trengove. But seeing his name mentioned every week is tiresome. It's clear as day why he doesn't play. 

 

Really like Stretch too, I'd like him to take more risks with his kicks, plays a bit too safe.

We see Rioli  regularly not playing in Tasmania. We hear of  tall forwards not being asked to ruck. Hmmm.

Tyson is in the midfield rotation. By definition they can't all be on the ground at once.  The named starters are Vince, Viney and Oliver - I'm fine with him not being named ahead of them.  What position do you expect to see him named in - fullback?

This Is a very good sign imo, I remember the coaches saying how flat they looked on the track before Carlton game last year, I think the players are really setting themselves for a big game

Props to J Lewis last week who clearly made ammends for his 3 week Holly. Hope he fires even bigger against his old club. Hope Frawley has a shocker on Hogan.

I reckon we're more likely to struggle a bit this week and put out a really good performance against Adelaide. Can't wait for the Crows game.

Or, heaven forbid, we back up a really good showing this weekend with another against Adelaide.
