Does Watts have any haters left amongst the MFC faithful?

I don't think he had any haters here after last season. Some people were just able to see that he was being left out of the JLT sides for a reason other than his talent.

So far Goodwin's decision to punish him like that seems to have had the desired effect.

I think we do...they go underground when Watts is going well.  But a hint of something NQR and they come out of the woodwork - see the preseason Jack Watts thread.  A minority now but quite vocal when it suits.

LOL. Are the other posts not pointless?

We're all just footy desperates wanting to be heard. Yeh, me too.

Forward pressure,  so the 24 pressure acts that ANB and JKH had between them are false, also JKH was recognised by Goody in his presser, must have been watching a different game?

Where are these Stats Saty? I can find 'one percenters' of which JKH has a total of 3 in his two games. ANB has had 8 in his six games.

These are Saty stats.

They're completely different to stats based any casual observation.

They're insider stats that look at the .001 per centers.

Yesterday I was hoping that Jobe was not a late withdrawal as he is such a liability now.

In the same vein, I am hoping Jaeger O'Meara plays this Sunday. Bloke is cooked.

I would say Dean Kent in for JKH.

If JKH doesn't go back to Casey after this week, he is at least on his last chance.

Two things from the ckub

1/ Goody praised JKH for playing his rôle

2/ Plapp didn't seem to think Kent did much to promote his cause

Understandable sentiments and I agree with it simply because we need to build some stability and cohesiveness in the team.

However the game yesterday revealed that we have a long way to go. Hawthorn will be a good test. On Hawthorn's form we should win and indeed we need to.

There is no obvious performer at VFL demanding a game especially when you consider our game plan.

The one I do want to come back when form is right is Stretch simply because other than Hunt we perhaps don't have real line breakers and our game plan demands that role.

Bulldogs appear to have at least three line breakers.

Finally we need to understand how Daniher was able to dominate that first half. If he had kicked reasonably straight it could have been a very different outcome.

Hibberd? Wagner (to replace the coach's mate when Eagner is ready)?

Its pretty clear the more times you get the ball and kick the ball the more opportunities there are to get it wrong. I would prefer to see of the players in the top 50 for kicks for the season who has the highest clanger %. May still be similar but a truer indicator.

For the Tyson haters the coaches gave him 2 votes on the weekend. He isn't going anywhere. Changes will be minimal

Out of form and still gets 30 touches, 9 inside 50s and some coaches votes.  Not bad.

Definitely needs to tidy up his kicking though.

I wouldn't mind knowing what JKH's role is, monoccular. I am not saying that to be cute or sarcastic either. I am open minded on selections and if I get a legitimate reason as to what he is in there for, I would be all for it.

Is it tackling and defensive pressure? I saw Jeffy do more of that than JKH on the weekend. If it is clean finishing, then I can't see him making the grade on that one.

Stretch for JKH and maybe Bugg for Hogan, if he's back on deck.

I'd also look at Harmes for ANB, who was quieter this week, but the FD have given a really good block of games to.

Kent goes missing when the team is not playing well. His 2 way running needs to be worked on and he knows it. Not sure you are right with the "too many runs on the board" comment.

Kent needs to play 2, 3, maybe even 4 really solid games at Casey. It sounds like he's put one game together.

He's laid 2 tackles in his two games at AFL level and is an absolute liability in our system as he currently plays.

When he's playing well, he's tackling hard and pressurising the opposition defence and mids.

I would like to see Trengove have a run.

He seems to be doing ok at Casey.

While all here are saying he is too slow and only good for VFL I recall seeing some very slow but useful players. Trenners always seemed to read the play well and looked slow as he operated in a different space. Lewis appears slow for the same reason.

i reckon he can fulfill the Stretch role on the wing covering ground an linking. He can also take a grab and keeps his feet. This gives Stretch the necessary rests a young body needs to perform at Max when in the team.

He won't get the pace of the ones playing in the 2's but may be ok against Hawks to see if he plays against the Crows.

We'll need to have our best 22for the Crows so rest those who need itTracc out for Hogan  = rest Trac and prepare Hoges after a week out. Maybe Kent to prepare for Crows against Hawks who appear suspect to the pace but if he doesn't absolutely dominate out he goes for Crows.

i enjoyed the changes that Goody made to use our players and exploit Druggers patterns, but we could have been in serious problems had Daniher kicked straight in first half

Ben Kennedy would really have to be thumping the door down at Casey for him to get a go ahead of Harmes, ANB, JKH and Hannan.

I don't follow Casey too closely, but what have Kennedy's tackle numbers been like down there? I certainly haven't heard that he's been tackling the house down, week after week. That's what he'll need to do to get a game in our forwardline.

I'm intrigued to see how Harmes goes again. He seems to have tidied up his glaring weakness - his decision making and disposal. If he can eradicate those sorts of errors, he becomes a really important player for us and almost best 22 for mine. He's certainly got the biggest upside out of he, ANB, JKH and probably even Hannan IMO.

Harmes knows how to find the ball, runs all day, he's strong in the contest, a good mark and likes a goal.

I hope he's learnt from his Freo mistakes, but I'm confident our coaches will be working with him on this.

"Full-Time Stats" -> "Advanced Stats"

Oscar had 14 1%ers. Tom, the next best with 7. Dea was the highest Bomber with 7 1%ers.

Saty was referring to 'pressure acts', buried behind the paywall in the Hun's match-report. The combined number for JKH and ANB sounded high (24), but I have absolutely no idea how they are recorded, relative numbers, or how many JKH contributed to this total. Although Champion Data tweeted this recently:

Most Pressure Acts in a single game: 49 - K.Jack, 46 - T.Liberatore, 45 - J.Redden, 44 - T.Liberatore

Worrying sign for the Hawks. Sold the farm for the kid (JOM) and there is clearly an injury cloud with the kid.

Hahaha suck it Hawks.

But i do think long term JOM will get better. Just needs to get his body right
