Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

No change.

I tend to agree because our team has had big swings and changes every round this season.

However, JHK has had two games and by god he is a plodder. Dropped chest marks and fumbles galore. No idea why we dropped Stretch, but he kept his spot.
Same goes for Melksham, but I am resigned to the fact that he will never be dropped, no matter how hard he works to give the opposition the ball!

Anyone has any inside info re: Hogan? Will he play?

The weak links were ANB, Bugg and JKH (and Jetts didn't have his best of days) and our kicking (and OMAc's usual hand pass to someone under pressure).  I don't think Kent is ready yet so the only likely change is Stretch with Trenners coming in for consideration but the question is what role does he play?

JHK had only one tackle with ANB and Bugg collecting 2 (Melksham 1 as well), we lacked forward pressure at some vital points whihc is a shame given we got it in to the 50 so many times.

Out: ANB or JHK (flip a coin) (both if Hogan comes back)

In Stretch.

Forward pressure,  so the 24 pressure acts that ANB and JKH had between them are false, also JKH was recognised by Goody in his presser, must have been watching a different game?

I know this thread would be made redundant if this happens, but I just can't see how people can be so certain about particular outs most weeks.  We have no idea what "role" they are being asked to play, and even if they seem to have a low possession game, or whatever other indicators we use for ourself, it's the KPIs that the coached set that will determine if a player stays in or not.

Just like my views of Kent's performance on the weekend.  I thought he was quite poor, but he may well have met/done what the coaches were asking of him.

It's opinion Billy, posters are allowed to post, no matter the comedic content contained in some posts

I ask the players what is involved in their role, Pedo gave a good insight in his post match video, so I have more of an idea whether they are playing it

But Goody picks his 'own' team

I just hope Hogan plays. Might be a nice distraction for him. Watts was thoughtful in calling Hogan his brother in the boundary interview on Poxtel.

Watts is now becoming a real leader of the club. Suck it up haters.

Does Watts have any haters left amongst the MFC faithful?

Didn't watch the post match presser Wise? he singled out JKH for his pressure and keeps picking ANB, I read between the lines

I won't argue the ANB choice, even if he had a stinker yesterday as his previous games have been very good, but JKH has been giving us nothing except a bit of pressure.  We can't carry blokes from here.

The review for Him on the MFC website for his last game was very positive. If your assessment is true than I am disappointed. I though the one game he played for the year was a pass with the goals he kicked and being dropped the next was tough given the opportunities the likes of weid, jkh and a few others.

My assessment was based on someone who posted in the Casey Game day thread who was at the game live, can't remember who hit they were disappointed in his output.

I think he gives us more than JKH though, but I'd give JKH at least one more shot unless Jesse is ready to play this weekend.

Goody is the one who decides , as I put in another topic, if JKH is picked next week, it means Goody doesn't regard him as a passenger and 24 pressure acts between ANB and JKH  is not a bit

As I have said before I support whoever is out there and I thought both again played their rolei

So it's the coach who decides?  Who would have thought he did that.

If JKH is picked then it's because there isn't anyone better in his position in terms of form.  Kent isn't setting the world alight and Kennedy seems in no man's land.  Goodwin might pick him, but it won't be on form.

I agree we looked much better with Bernie in the square.  That really means Salem has to play back and take the kick-ins and it appears the FD has wanted him in the midfield. They've been trying a different mix n the square Salem, Petracca and ANB in recent weeks which I think is good.

It's unlikely that both small pressure forwards ANB and JKH will go out without a replacement but Bernie could play this role and spend some time in the square.  If Hogan comes in that would give us a big bodied forward line: Hogan, Watts, Petracca, Hannan, Vince, Garlett - I like that set-up.  It means one of ANB and JKH is retained and plays forward when Vince and Petracca go into the square.  Kent to try to force his way back in.

The other alternative is both ANB and JKH go out, Vince goes forward-mid, Wagner comes in and we play 7 back, 5 forward consistently. I'm not sure Wagner can kick in yet and it seems a waste for Hibberd or Lewis, we need them to take the next kick.

I think they must have held Stretch and Weed both out as extra insurance in case we had a small or a tall out late.  Stretch isn't competing with JKH and ANB for a role, he's competing with Bugg.

I think we're looking like a very strong side.

The problem with JKH is that he never had a decent run in the seniors. I will withhold judgement for a while. I'd like to seem him string about six games in a row. Jetta was in the same predicament for several seasons.

Weideman must put a string of good performances together at Casey before he's even considered.

Thank God nobody has suggested Harmes to be recalled.

I think the only change will be Hogan if they think he's ready for JKH.

I would include Harmes before Ben Ken or Trengove, I like the way he goes about it. From all reports, Harmes didn't set the world on fire for Casey on the weekend but do you blame him after busting his guts Monday night against Richmond and then having to back it up on a four day break?

I'm a JKH fan, but he needs to go back and put together a a solid month at Casey.

His fumbles are far too costly.

This is a good point.  Anyone who played against Richmond on Monday then the VFL this weekend needs to be judged accordingly.  Harmes might be the only one though.

Right now I'd have Harmes in ahead of JKH, but not ANB.

If Hogan is available, resting Petracca might be an option to allow his knee to come good.

Salem or Hunt to play half back to cover milkshake

where does Hannan play in that scenario assuming you want to play Watts forward

Playing Salem and/or Hunt as a primary defender is potentially limiting our two main attacking weapons

Personally I don't know what the answer is but we certainly need to get more out of our bottom six (whoever they are)!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
