Well, sounds like it might be a good time to replace Hibberd with Melksham.

Fortunately, we have a coach who has empathy in a situation like this, having been through similar issues.

Well the CAS hearing found that Ess players lied to drug tester forms and kept info from their doctor.  Is anyone really surprised he would withhold info/lie to the AFL.

Some people never learn.

De Goey got 3 weeks for lying to the his coach...I wonder what sanctions Melksham will get from the club.  Probably nothing.  But I know which is more serious.

A minor issue.

Charlie Dixon has a glass of red wine the night before a game and he's front page of the Herald Sun and suspended by his club.  The AFL would happily pepperspray the likes of Jack Crisp for a $10 multi.  Others convulse in anger over Hogan having a dart on a weekend off, as if he's some sort of nicotine addict.  Fans lamenting drafting Melksham over a trivial betting indiscretion involving his account (sure, they also think he can't play footy).

Meanwhile, Ben Cousins is a mess and never tested positive for illegal drug use and first time offenders are protected from public vilification.

Somewhere, there's an imbalance.

it was from last year whilst under the "essendon" suspension

they were under a non contact suspension and not playing, so even if he had bet on afl (which they said he didn't) it hard to see what the fuss is

Aside from Gary Moorcroft, can anyone recall a more disliked import than Melksham?

Tom Gillies doesn't count as he was just handicapped at football.

I really couldn't give a rats.

He can have a winnie, a tinnie whilst filling out the quaddie for all i care.

If hes up for playing 120 of decent footy im fine.

So far ...very much ho-hum

Hopefully compatriot Michael fares better.

The Milkshake curdled a tad.

Reading the story, he wasn't betting but someone else was using his account. Who that was isn't disclosed.

Sounds like the dog ate my homework!

Cant say he has had a good start. Some of it out of his control, but what he has done now on and off the field has been average to say the least. Some of his work against Freo last week was cringeworthy. Would much rather have Hibbo in.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
