Still too many poor decision makers who, when the pressure is really on, make poor choices or execute their skills poorly.

Inexperience.

Tends to do that.

Harmes, ANB, Melksham ... will be interesting to see what changes come up for next week. Hogan, Trengove and Brayshaw in?

1. A solid first half

2. A horrid 3rd quarter in terms of not doing the hard yards running the other way and pressure acts? Freeo (Hunt,Fyfe and others) played out of their skins and busted us in the stoppages. The number of times i saw Sandi bunt the short thrown ball in towards the boundary with hill already at full tilt picking up the crumbs was annoying.

3. Jones & Viney were well covered on the day and bobbed up here and there but mostly innefective.

4. We have a very young side who are prone to not playing the percentages a little too often when the heat is on.

5. Vince had another ordinary disposal/decision making game.

6. Watts/Spencil (Mountain Man) were admirable but the lack of a decent KPF up forward was glaring.

7. Jeffy waa incredible!

8. Why didnt we flood after the Viney goal??? Horrible coaching

Vince's rushed, wobbly torp into the forward 50 with less than a min to go shows he can be a dumb footballer at critical times. Made no attempt to lower his eyes and spot up a teammate. Would've sealed the game. Dumb football by a seasoned veteran.

Lost at selection 2 weeks in a row.

Weiderman has cost us twice. Forward coach under extreme pressure . Simply ridiculous selection. Disgraceful. Weiderman is gentle.

Hannan no where near it.

I worry about Jones and Viney and whilst the forwards were flogged our on ballers were woeful and couldn't get it to them.

Midfield except Oliver slow, very slow and gone backwards. B grade midfield.

They will drop Tyson but it was Jones and Viney who were the problem.

Hate to say it but the Weeds is going to struggle at AFL level. Very concerning draft pick and very Lucas Cook esque. Too skinny, doesn't run and no mongrel. Can't even get a goal 15m with the game on the line either.

Now cue the awful feeling when you have to replay in your head how that last 2 1/2 mins could have gone better for the next 4 hours but then keep reminding yourself there's nothing you can do about it .... thanks Melbourne ? My long weekend looking great now

A minute before that he had the ball in the back pocket, made like he was gonna go long down the line and tried a little chip kick which no one except him was wise to. Absolutely stupid

We are always shakey in these games we go in favourites.

We kicked goals in the second to go a goal or two up and the players looked flat, as if the job was done.

We only really got up and about in the last, but it was too late.

I'm not.

He had no answer for Lyons flood but when your players are always second to the footy and turning the ball over how can you put that on the coaches

Selections.

Weideman 4 touches and totally out of form last week and still selected this week was outmarked 13 times today. Smith or pederson would have been better.

as an example.

Is the captaincy having an impact on jack Viney form??

its round four and worrying patterns are emerging regarding our defence

After that 3rd q never deserved to win but did anyone see that Freo player get his foot to that last goal?

They review all sorts of BS but not that????

I'm as gutted as anyone, but just to keep some perspective, we have played some very good footy this year, with some very good players out of the side.

We lost this game in one quarter today, we threw the win away last week against a top 4 side.

Doesn't excuse it, but just a reminder that it is an even comp and we are right in the mix if we can keep it all together and get that consistency.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
